There are addons in the launcher which make the vehicles a little more robust and fuel efficient - they help a lot. The game also has a spawn menu. I couldn’t see a car in it, so I went to Sid, spawned a load of suits and sold them to him then bought a car from him with the money I just made. A little cheaty, but I figure that is ok if it overcomes a broken game mechanic.
As with every stalker game and mod for some reason, everyone has unique issues and experiences, the crashes in the limansk hospital for example I never experienced, and man, the jupiter underground was indeed a pain the ass, the cars are manageable if you use the strategy of turning off the engine every time you gain speed, which conserves like half your fuel on a trip, sure as hell beats walking 20 minutes, although I do have a major gripe with the mod that you either haven't experienced or forgot to mention, and that would be the amount of enemies I faced in my playthrough, I swear to god I was getting mentally exhausted shooting so many things, that part where you hunt boars and fleshes in the northern hills for example, 100s of buckshot shells.
In my first playthrough of the mod I largely used the PRM weapon pack as well as a 'tarkov style damage' mod which made my bullets do alot more damage (as did the enemies) so that is why my experience was different. I tried out lost alpha revisited recently and played with vanilla guns and yes I noticed this right away. Enemies like the original games are very spongey and there are far too many of them. So I do agree and have this issue though for this video I had used the above listed mods. Perhaps I should have clarified that. Apologies.
I'm currently playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lost Alpha and I enjoy this mod. Yes, there is a lot of walking in this mod and the locations is huge, but then you get a car, so the journey will be shorter. And then in the North Hills you'll find purple beads so you'll run faster. As someone who likes to explore games, I have to say that the locations are huge, but if you explore them, you can find some equipment, artifacts, documents, data for weapons and suits upgrade, etc. Of course sometimes I will explore a village and there is nothing in it, but along the way I have an artifact detector in one hand and a screw in my other hand, explore anomalies, sometimes find artifacts, fight mutants, sometimes find their body parts or fight people and search their bodies, I to see what they were carryed with them. I don't mind that the locations are huge, but I understand that it might bother some. It's also nice to see the cut content back in the game. The mod has nice graphics, good soundtrack, the atmosphere of the mod is great, the story of the mod is interesting. Of course, the mod has bugs, but if you like the mod, you won't notice them that much. I could write a lot about this mod, but I'll end it here so that the comment is not too long, it is all, have a nice day.
Oh well... I was in the middle of my ironman run in Anomaly when I got kinda bored and remembered about this mod I haven't heard of since it was even far from beta and I was a schoolboy(like 10 years back). I recall me and my classmates discussing its futures with pure excitement. I downloaded it, tried to play for 10 minutes and got absolutely frustrated with the overall feeling of clunkyness and it got me to this video :) Unfortunately this mod took everything people hate in stalker modding, leaving absolutely no possibility of me getting any satisfaction of playing it. Guess I'll leave it be😅 Nice video man, thank you for saving my time))
Yes I would love to see them. Actually some already are in Anthology. Did a video on that recently. Would also love to see some new quests too. Thanks for watching.
I have a mixed opinion about this mod, at times it was very frustrating and I was genuinely astonished by some of the dumb decisions on the part of the devs, at others times it was actually really fun, it most definitely is a unique mod. Hell, it even has working PCs that you can play games like solitaire and puzzles on. My biggest gripes with the mod are the shit gunplay (enemies are extremely accurate and they kill you pretty much instantly until you get good armor, while your guns are horribly inaccurate and weak), the ridiculous amount of mutant spam (in a map called "Countryside" i killed a pack of 30+ boars), the overall instability of the mod (i had a LOT of CTDs at seemingly random points), pripyat underground (horrible maze, absolutely huge, lots of dead ends and a ton of radiation and snorks), and lastly, lack of a sense of direction (being confused where to go, what to do, or which quests are just pointless optional sidequests and which progress the story mode because the game doesn't tell you, and the wiki is incomplete). I also struggled with the economy a lot, until I got my first free shitty car that you get in dark valley during one of the story missions, and proceeded to drive around, murdering every enemy and stuffing their guns into the trunk of my car. Artifact hunting isn't really consistent because there are no designated anomaly fields where artifacts spawn, instead they are spawned by mutants dying in an anomaly, and where that happens can be completely random, artifacts don't respawn after emissions. I found it that the mod gets progressively more enjoyable the later in progression you are, some of the issues still remain but at least when you get an upgraded weapon you're no longer a punching bag for even the most basic types of enemies, as well as not struggling to make money (as much). You're still never gonna farm enough money to buy something like a BTR, 500k RUB for a vehicle is absurd, especially with the way the mod's economy works.
For myself, the worst thing about the mod is it simply doesn't do what it advertises to be doing. It's not a restoration of old Stalker versions, but more of a build-inspired fanfic that quickly lost its track. Dezowave team should've stayed with one of the concepts instead of trying to merge all of them + bits of CS and CoP. None of the ideas got properly implemented, as Dezowave simply put too much on their plate. Which is why I play so much OLR2.5 it pretty much replaced SoC for me canon-wise. It strictly sticks to the 2002-2003 vision and does the job just right.
The biggest problem with Lost Alpha is the levels are empty. Well, there are monsters, some loot (even really unique sometimes), but there are no roaming NPS(is A-life even working?), little quests, and definitely no reason to come back once you've been there
Freedom and the Mercenaries weren't import for the main story on the original game. Pretty much everything related to Freedom is optional, the only "mandatory" content related to them is the ambush executed by Skull and his squad when you first enter the Army Warehouses, and even that can be ignored. The Mercenaries are even worse. Pretty much their only remarkable appearance is the attack they launched against Kruglov's helicopter. They get completely sidelined after that.
@@BrokenCircle1 Not only that, Anomaly mutants are basically homing missiles, on other mods I've played you can dodge them and keep a safe distance. Stops being funny after a few deaths
@@VodkaFreak Yeah its absurd. Recently I made my own Anomaly modpack and added in a mod that removes that autoaim. Vanilla Anomaly kind of sucks in my opinion.

Great video! By the way, does Lost Alpha come with the same gunplay animations as in the video? From other videos the game seems to use the same old models/animations from the original games.
Thanks for watching. By default no, I used the PRM weapon pack which adds new animations/models as well as a few new guns. It is an easy one click install as it comes built in the launcher.
great work also one thing to note for anyone who does not know much about the development history of stalker : lost alpha does not bring back the old version of shadow of Chernobyl's story aka Oblivion lost and also many of it's elements like the kidnapped children or the journalist also at 2:00 i agree as SIN there going to have a lot more involvement in Oblivion Lost's story and even got an ENDING based around the faction 2:35 this is likely because a lot of the cut content for SOC simply does not fit in with Soc's final story and was not made with that in mind of course some stuff was cut for good reason but also a lot it was cut simply because of story changes or other reasons 2:58 i would not say new and overhaled as a big check of the maps are cut maps or original versions of existing maps like cardon or garbage but there are some fan made ones overall lost alpha is not a bad mod but does show it sometimes adding back cut content can hinder the gameplay in some aeras and make some thing less enjoyable so you might what to put in a lot of consideration in too what you add back
@@BrokenCircle1 yes . The purpose of this mod is to get closer to the old Oblivion Lost which was planned by GSC back in the days, and recrate the stalker we never got that means not only bringing back the old levels but also the whole entire story as well as it's element . and the mod is still being work to this day one more thing it want to say 1. a new version is being made wacth is oblivion lost 3.0 that will bring more cut content back and improve the mod overall
yeah Lost Alpha i feel like was a miss opportunity they got a lot of support from GSC and pretty much did nothing truly great whit it the game was in design phase for year they keep adding idea and when the game finally took his final name they removed a lot of these idea and Lost Alpha trying to bring them back whiteout doing any real fleshing out was bad
I figured out Jupiter Underground in Lost Alpha fairly easily. The key to me was the pillars with the ladder rungs. My main beefs with the game are janky cutscenes which fail to trigger the next event and how the devs designed many aspects to piss off the player.
I'd actually enjoyed my playthrough, from what I can recall. It was a fresh, new take on replaying the Shadow of Chernobyl storyline for me. It definitely needed work in places, but I accept that X-Ray is just a piece of shit engine, at the end of it. I wish the new ammo like .44 or #4 buck was in CoC or Anomaly.
Fair enough. I liked it too just was a bit frustrated at the time I made this video with all the issues I had. In hindsite I will probably play the mod again at some point.
lost alpha deserves anomaly treatment - i mean improved engine with bunch of options to suit the gameplay to your preferences, option of freeplay without the story, and mods like BaS
the thing is the reason why lost alpha is not that popular is the is the issue the mod had they tried to say it was a Reclamation mod when it is not really so they where a split in the community when it first came out in 2011 and Anomaly is also way more focused on a boarder audience than the average stalker fan so here again Anomaly became the most popular western mod of stalker for the fact that it was not made whit tryhard fan in mind so it grow at a point that no other mod can really compete if they stay on what IS really stalker
Love the reshades and graphics. But encountered the first bug which is the Proverb's quest. Proverb didn't move after talking to him in preparation for the second mutant hunt attempt. He stayed idle at the third floor of the bandits base in Cordon. I tried to sleep for 2 days streak, and after 2nd day of sleeping, he was still sitting and idle at the third floor next to the lost contact's dead body. So i skipped that quest unfortunately.
@@BrokenCircle1 Yep, tried to play it again and found out that its my fault. Upon finishing the first mutant hunt, I didn't talk to Proverb but proceeded to the main quest (find the missing contact), then that bugged the quest with Proverb cuz I went thru further all the way to the raiding the bandits base quest, then that triggered Proverb to move away from his position and went to the bandiit base. Case solved lol. But this game is definitely giving me a walking simulator vibe. Thanks and Later!
I enjoy Lost Alpha as an exploration game/sandbox sort of thing. The new maps the mod uses are hella insane and I have to agree that it is 90% of the time a walking simulator that's why I roam around killing mutants and human enemies because doing quests are extremely tedious and tiresome at times.
Btw, they aren't despawning, they're getting damaged and exploding. If you listen for a random explosion, you will likely learn the fate of your vehicle
Well I actually only played the forced 1.30003 release after the leak back in 2014. I know LADC 2017 did improve a lot like adding guides like Clear Sky for fast travel and made the sin quests optional to try and reduce some walking sim. My main issue with LA was that it explains too much through cringeworthy cutscenes that ruin the appeal of the Zone by saying yeah.. everything is man made inside a lab. The original series leaves everything pretty vague and it's for the better. And also it's a shame you have to deal with crashes later on. If you want a better look at the alpha versions of Stalker (with the actual lower rez textures and stock sfx as heard in old trailers) then Oblivion Lost Remake is a better Lost alpha.
I think I got lost trying to find Strelok's stash and 100Rads bar that has it's back door closed for some reason. I did not know that there was a main entrance to it until I played Lost Alpha. What does Revisited change?
You should play lost alpha dc extended by Kamtek. By far, best version ever. Stable, scary as fuck, so inmersive, with a good weapon pack that sets the difficulty to higher levels. No cars, no weird cinematics, no bugs. Only the good things the mod have to offer
Lost alpha was great until the story line took a turn. I read that directors cut fixes it somewhat. And I do love the way they grey out the military. This is something that gets me in games where I see some military and they are executing everyone.....are they the good guys or bad? Anomaly has many of these feelings that throw me off completely. Example is butcher in garbage. You bring him meat and he buys from you and story is he supplies Rostok and is reason for him being there. But when you find out he buys the meat more than Rostok would pay you it throws off the feelings. Or the artifacts selling so much higher to certain traders thing. I understand the concept and where this thinking stems from but it makes no sense destroying the feelings. An artifact sells for say 10k to scientists.....then it makes sense to be able to sell to normal traders you meet in your journeys for 7 or 8K. They earn a living of buying low and selling high and can make the trip to a scientist hangout and reap the markup. LOL I do understand these feelings come from living in the zone for too long and the argument is ITS A GAME and to get over it so I heard it all.
I feel like the A life ist not functional and very Buggy and the maps are just too big and empty.(some maps and areas are rly cool like Rostok factory or the new undergrounds) Could have been so good …
Perhaps. I haven't had alot of time to do TH-cam lately. Or play Stalker. If I play it I might do a video on it though. Right now I have Goldsphere and some other one that I forgot what its called downloaded just no time to play them.
LOST ALPHA is really, really good! But the main character moves as if he weighed 300kg, the interface is reaaaaaly ugly, the gunplay is kinda weird and the models & graphics are … okay. It runs stable with a good amount of fps, the story is great, there're cutscenes and there're a lot of voiceovers in there. The quests are great, the overhaul of the maps is really refreshing and is super! But purely in terms of gameplay, unfortunately it doesn't play that well… :/ Hope to get gunslinger and maybe some texturepacks on it, that would be great! Or take the whole content and drag into Anomaly/GAMMA!
It's a shame, this mod sounds incredibly promising but the walking simulator and broken vehicles are probably why I won't ever play it. I hate tedium for the sake of tedium.
@@BrokenCircle1Here's hoping that some of the mod developers working on Anomaly will take notes from this vid and consider scrapping the vehicles, shrinking the map size a bit, or don't change the movement speed and stamina regen from base.
This game is messed up. It does not want to be installed and has very dumb launcher that does not need to exist. Is it supposed to have Zaton/Jupiter? I can see them in your video. They aren't in my game.
Not sure where you saw those neither of them are in game. The area that may have looked like Zaton is actually Darkscape if you can believe it. As for installing it you need all the files in one folder I think then you have to run the launcher. It's a pain in the butt if you aren't experienced in Stalker mods, I had a hard time too years ago when I first installed it. I know there are some good guides on TH-cam you can look up.

@@karpai5427 No worries. I actually tried the revisited version about a week or so ago and it was actually worse...no minimap...even SLOWER movement speed. Not sure what they were thinking with that one.
@@BrokenCircle1 I heard that they made minimap disapear and have less bullets on corpses on Veteran and Master difficulty. I don't know if this is is actually true, but it is a bit dumb thing to do. It is better to have an option whether you want minimap or not and how likely it is to get good loot, like in Anomaly.
Many assets from Call of Pripyat were used in Lost Alpha although not the Zaton and Jupiter maps themselves. For example, Noah's Ark is at Darkscape. Also, the big digger at the Jupiter quarry ended up being at the dome in "Jupiter Underground."
Ah yes, Lost Alpha, the mod that crashes constantly for no reasons, it runs like dog piss, the developers tried to include every cut content feature without understanding how gameplay works, infamous Russian difficulty which turns Lost Alpha into essentially wielding the biggest shotgun you can buy, the KS-23 with slugs because no one is sane enough to carry 5000 rounds of 5.45mm to deal with all the boars and other mutants that are bullet sponges. I ended up carrying the select fire sniper rifle to deal with humans, and the shotgun to deal with mutants, imao you literally could not do one, it had to be both. Maps are upscaled compare to ShoC which again, developers not understanding gameplay making decisions that completely go against what fun means, I also hated how there were so many bugs it was increadibly tiresome having to keep saves at the beginning of quests before you started them because sometimes they fail all too often leaving you stuck, then you have to redo them, "fun"
Everything is better than this cancer Anomaly. There are many really good mods but people like pseudo stalker mod instead of playing really good stalker mods

Finally, I have Lost Alpha DC and was waiting for someone to make a thorough review of the game to see how it compares to Anomaly.
Great video.
Thanks for watching. I have plans to do more Stalker mod reviews in the future.
I downloaded it, tried to play for 10 minutes and got absolutely frustrated with the overall feeling of clunkyness and it got me to this video :)
Unfortunately this mod took everything people hate in stalker modding, leaving absolutely no possibility of me getting any satisfaction of playing it.
Guess I'll leave it be😅
Nice video man, thank you for saving my time))
Yeah like I said the new maps are the best part about it but other than that its rough.
Thanks for watching.
With the latest advancements in Anomaly modding it might not be too far away to see the Lost Alpha levels IN Anomaly :D
Yes I would love to see them. Actually some already are in Anthology. Did a video on that recently. Would also love to see some new quests too.
Thanks for watching.
Lost alpha is way better than anomaly for sure
anomaly is at least fun to play
You're still never gonna farm enough money to buy something like a BTR, 500k RUB for a vehicle is absurd, especially with the way the mod's economy works.
well said
For myself, the worst thing about the mod is it simply doesn't do what it advertises to be doing.
You have to check mod called "definitive car pack". That's insane! I cant wait for the release.
The biggest problem with Lost Alpha is the levels are empty. Well, there are monsters, some loot (even really unique sometimes), but there are no roaming NPS(is A-life even working?), little quests, and definitely no reason to come back once you've been there
I figured out Jupiter Underground fairly quickly. The key is the ladder rungs on the pillars.
They get completely sidelined after that.
awful lot of mutants in the start
There are generally more mutants in Lost Alpha though their attacks aren't as strong as in anomaly not nearly.
I watch this after an entire stalker lost alpha playthrough without a guide and using a car, I smiled 😂😂
Also I just got to say in the hospital map bring a striker It makes those blood suckers a lot easier
I have some vague memories of ending being wacky. I feel like changed levels were put in the AREA project, but it's really hardcore one...
That sucks. I hate the hardcore mods.
Great video! By the way, does Lost Alpha come with the same gunplay animations as in the video? From other videos the game seems to use the same old models/animations from the original games.
Thanks for watching.
By default no, I used the PRM weapon pack which adds new animations/models as well as a few new guns. It is an easy one click install as it comes built in the launcher.
great work
also one thing to note for anyone who does not know much about the development history of stalker : lost alpha does not bring back the old version of shadow of Chernobyl's story aka Oblivion lost and also many of it's elements like the kidnapped children or the journalist
also at 2:00 i agree as SIN there going to have a lot more involvement in Oblivion Lost's story and even got an ENDING based around the faction
2:35 this is likely because a lot of the cut content for SOC simply does not fit in with Soc's final story and was not made with that in mind of course some stuff was cut for good reason but also a lot it was cut simply because of story changes or other reasons
2:58 i would not say new and overhaled as a big check of the maps are cut maps or original versions of existing maps like cardon or garbage but there are some fan made ones
overall lost alpha is not a bad mod but does show it sometimes adding back cut content can hinder the gameplay in some aeras and make some thing less enjoyable so you might what to put in a lot of consideration in too what you add back
Maybe I will check that one out. Does it have new levels?
@@BrokenCircle1 yes . The purpose of this mod is to get closer to the old Oblivion Lost which was planned by GSC back in the days, and recrate the stalker we never got that means not only bringing back the old levels but also the whole entire story as well as it's element . and the mod is still being work to this day
one more thing it want to say
1. a new version is being made wacth is oblivion lost 3.0 that will bring more cut content back and improve the mod overall
@@samargrewal929 Cool thanks for watching and the recommendation. I will certainly check it out when I have the chance.
yeah Lost Alpha i feel like was a miss opportunity they got a lot of support from GSC and pretty much did nothing truly great whit it the game was in design phase for year they keep adding idea and when the game finally took his final name they removed a lot of these idea and Lost Alpha trying to bring them back whiteout doing any real fleshing out was bad
14:20
"Fought some monolith soldiers that had more RPGs than fan boys have excuses for Halo Infinite"
I instantly gave the video a like at that quote.
@@cpt.rogers1396 lol thanks for that. I forgot I even made that joke haha
I'd love to see more quests added to it but scripted and non scripted as well as weapons.
the thing is the reason why lost alpha is not that popular is the is the issue the mod had they tried to say it was a Reclamation mod when it is not really so they where a split in the community when it first came out in 2011 and Anomaly is also way more focused on a boarder audience than the average stalker fan so here again Anomaly became the most popular western mod of stalker for the fact that it was not made whit tryhard fan in mind so it grow at a point that no other mod can really compete if they stay on what IS really stalker
I love LA...and i play it again! I hope the modders work on it, like on Anomaly or Gamma
I'm just waiting for Lost Alpha Gunslinger to replay it, only annoying part of my playthrough was lab x7 but overall it was a pretty good mod
I don't remember, it's been a while since I've played the mod and even longer since I played the quest. Sorry it didn't work for you.
Thanks and Later!
i tried playing Lost Alpha and it always crashed when you meet the Sinners in Cordon and never played it since, since i could not advance
there is a mod for lost alpha that really makes your car tank like along with a lot less gas usage
One thing I hate is that unstatic "empty" feeling that you find in Anomaly
Stalker should be called: Walking Simulator :D
What does Revisited change?
if you want a good soc mod go for ogse gunslinger, it works very well, looks oretty and the gunplay is top notch and modern
Cars despawning sounds like stalker activity if you know what I mean 😂😂
You should play lost alpha dc extended by Kamtek. By far, best version ever. Stable, scary as fuck, so inmersive, with a good weapon pack that sets the difficulty to higher levels. No cars, no weird cinematics, no bugs. Only the good things the mod have to offer
Where can I find this? I just found an extended version in German based on 1.4007 at ComputerBase Forums.
LOL I do understand these feelings come from living in the zone for too long and the argument is ITS A GAME and to get over it so I heard it all.
so lost alpha for vibe and story, anomaly for gameplay
I wouldn't go that far. Anomaly gives me so many mixed feelings. Personally the gameplay of anomaly feels too artificially difficult for me.
@@BrokenCircle1 it can be customized with countless mods
This mod needs an x64 bit version.
LA DC extended is really good. Try it ;)
no isn't lost alpha just suk as fuk! entire story and lore is terrible and no sence
"Better than anomaly?" *Proceeds to reload 5+ times due to jammed weapons*
Have you tried victor of allineation mod?
No.
@@BrokenCircle1 it's similar to this
But I think it's better
Did you use the Lost Alpha Developers Cut Revisited version? Allegedly this fixes a lot of the bugs.
Nah, they Don't
I feel like the A life ist not functional and very Buggy and the maps are just too big and empty.(some maps and areas are rly cool like Rostok factory or the new undergrounds) Could have been so good …
will you ever make a video about oblivion lost remake
Perhaps. I haven't had alot of time to do TH-cam lately. Or play Stalker.
If I play it I might do a video on it though. Right now I have Goldsphere and some other one that I forgot what its called downloaded just no time to play them.
bro where is a 4k quality?
Are u using some kind of weapon pack?
Yes it is called PRM.
@@BrokenCircle1 Alright, will try it.
What about graphics?
@@dan4ikp4ola That's just vanilla Lost Alpha. It looks really good.
@@BrokenCircle1 That's true)
@@BrokenCircle1 Sorry for another silly comment but does PRM change the animations?
LOST ALPHA is really, really good!
But the main character moves as if he weighed 300kg, the interface is reaaaaaly ugly, the gunplay is kinda weird and the models & graphics are … okay.
It runs stable with a good amount of fps, the story is great, there're cutscenes and there're a lot of voiceovers in there.
The quests are great, the overhaul of the maps is really refreshing and is super!
But purely in terms of gameplay, unfortunately it doesn't play that well… :/
Hope to get gunslinger and maybe some texturepacks on it, that would be great! Or take the whole content and drag into Anomaly/GAMMA!
It's a shame, this mod sounds incredibly promising but the walking simulator and broken vehicles are probably why I won't ever play it. I hate tedium for the sake of tedium.
Yeah that about sums it up that's how I felt.
@@BrokenCircle1 Thank you very much. Sorry for freaking out on you.
I remember Darkscape being very different from Anomaly version of it but I did not expect it to look this crazy haha.
I think I won't be able to install Revisited version. I hope DC is not too bad. So far it looks the way I remember it.
LA was great until you found out there were no NPCs anywhere, so you just spent your time wandering desolate maps.
Сравнивать фриплейный мод с сюжетным это, конечно, надо уметь
Alpha is not bad it's a director cut experience but, can't beat EFP and above all GAMMA 381 mod also in continuous expansion, and spectacular update
Everyone is entitled to their opinion I personally hate GAMMA. Never tried EFP though.
I was so devastated when the person who created Stalker died in the war against russia.
gsc developer not the creator of stalker, but one of the people who works and worked on it, still a sad loss
There are many really good mods but people like pseudo stalker mod instead of playing really good stalker mods
when is that call of dookie ghosts video?💩
Not for a while. Neither of the cod videos did well so I haven't been super inspired to make another.
It will come though. Eventually.
Lost alpha is beta SoC, with devs salt, dont compare it to anomaly please :D
Воо.. Иностранцы заинтересовались русской игрой, сталкер.
It's pretty awful. It makes Clear Sky look like GOTY.
Very fustrating, cringy, broken excuse of a game. Can't be compared to the vanilla games, let alone Anomaly.
Yeah it had alot of issues.
Nope
