I've been listening to PF since 1995. My dad loved them, he apparently used to play PF to me when I was only days old, all the way up to the age of 10 or so. I've been brought up with them and I never will forget who and what they are. The best band of all time.
Some people don't get this stuff. That drives we Floyd fans crazy, so we love when young people can hear and get what we've been trying to tell them, lol. Typical generational gap stuff, but great music bridges all gaps. You are an official Floydian.
@Nerdy old white Guy I went to the Pink Floyd laser light show at the Hayden Planetarium in Manhattan at least 10 times, wasted everytime. LOL. Experience of a lifetime, amazing
I am 71 and have been listening to Pink Floyd since their inception. Your reactions are spot on. My best analogy of Pink Floyd is akin to staring into a campfire late at night. Their music is mesmerizing. Watching the crowd is the give away. No one is jumping around, the crowd is in a trance, Yeah that's what their music does. David Gilmour is like two full up band members. There is another piece by Pink Floyd I think you'll enjoy. It is titled Round and Around of the Momentary Lapse of Reason LP. Give it a shot, you have nothing to lose.
thanks for your reaction, Pink Floyd has been my favorite band for a very long time. I appreciate the band and Gilmore' s magic more everytime I listen to their music, which is everyday.
I was at one of the concerts in Oslo in 94, and man... When the bass kicked in at the start of Sorrow, it was like a punch in the gut. And the concrete we stood on felt like it was moving. But to have been so fortunate to experience that last solo on Comfortably Numb live at this tour... The moment that giant disco ball appeared right above my head.
Felt the same on Gilmour's tours at the Royal Albert Hall in 2015 and 2016. The videos can never reproduce the feeling of actually being there. The vibrations from the bass have to be felt to be believed!
yeah i was at the originator of those concert the "Momentary Lapse or Reason" tour where all the lights and circular back drop were being first shown in 1987 i missed pulse, i always regret knowing it was there and not getting a ticket, but even so MLOR tour was just as powerful and memorable. incredible band i saw genesis the same year domino tour both absolutely amazing, the set cost them 3.4 million pounds sterling, varylights just specifically built for them and some of the most powerful lasers in any show including that of jean michelle jarre.
Honestly my favourite Floyd song, the hauntingly powerful intro and after taking you on a journey through the song it takes you back to the same dark vibe from the intro to finish it all off.
Gilmour's guitar is for all intents and purposes, an added vocalist in Pink Floyd. It speaks in ways words cannot convey... bypassing the brain and going straight to the soul. Also, it is not unusual for bands to use added musicians on the road (guitars, percussionists, etc.) to duplicate sounds the three of them would normally achieve in studio by overdubbing tracks. Floyd are nothing if not perfectionists on the road, so they do whatever it takes to achieve the complexity of the music they produce in the studio.
Great reaction! One of my go to numbers when I want to connect and focus on David's ability to draw people in. Solid steady quality where somehow less is more and every note perfected Whereby the listener is heavely rewarded for being patient.
There was also two keyboardists, did u notice? PF is one of a kind. Each member brings their own awesome talent to create this amazing journey. Been listening to them since I was 17 yrs old I'm now 64 and never get tired if it in fact I frequently fall asleep to it. Let them relax you all into another world. Glad to see them live on into a third & forth generation, hopefully to your grandkids! ✌️
I know a lot of fans have comfortably numb as their favourite track from Pink Floyd, but this is mine. It is also in my opinion the best version out there.
No matter what you do or how hard you put your feet on the ground ... this song is a crowd behind your back that continues undaunted to push you forward
I was about ten when I first found out about the Floyd, about ten that is, when their first album came out. Later, in my teen years, they had become far more known, enough so that the Planetarium would host a laser light show, just like the one you're seeing at Earls Court, but they would add a trip through the Galaxy, a mid 70s galaxy that is and add Pink Floyd jammed through an excellent Bose sound system. Now, add a tab of good acid and it makes for an unforgetable night.
One of the highlights of the concert, this song is just epic. I love the way he's controlling the feedback on his guitar. Fun fact: those lasers you see at the start and at the end were the most powerful lasers ever used on a concert; prior to this they were only used in nuclear research. They definitely saved no expense. Nick Mason is the drummer. The percussionist is Gary Wallis, probably the most redundant guy on the stage, although he had some cool moments on 'Learning To Fly'.
@@Detrucci A lot of bands used 2 percussionists live. Radiohead are an example of a more contemporary band that has used 2 drummers live, but there are a ton who have and do. And some like the Grateful Dead, Allman Bros. & Santana had 2 percussionists in the band full time.
Saw this show at Mile High stadium in 94, and the laser show was so intense that air traffic for Stapleton was diverted away for the first and only time. It was truly incredible.
Thanks for that, brilliant reaction and analysis as ever, hoped you might like this one, and what great work from that 'extra band member', such a terrific analogy man, keep going, I'm loving it. To me DG is a straight up, unique genius, amongst many great guitarists I like, he's the only one I never, ever tire of hearing. I know you've only just done Sorrow, and I'm sure you get inundated with suggestions and requests, but I think you may also enjoy Keep Talking from Pulse, whenever the opportunity arises....
Detrucci, another great reaction! I like your comments about patience, especially. I’m so glad you reacted to this song from the Pulse concert as it is one of my favorites. Comfortably Numb from this concert gets most of the solo love, but honestly, you really can’t go wrong with the guitar work from this concert. I especially like the solo in Another Brick In the Wall from this concert, as well.
I had read in the 80s, Nick Mason opted for a second drummer because he hadn't toured in a while and felt nervous. Whether that was still true in the 90's, I don't know. Perhaps, by then, the second drummer added a huge voice to their epic performances.
Sorrow is one of my Floyd's favorite ones. It must be because I started my Pink Floyd journey with the album A momentary lapse of reason, and I love all its songs, specially this and On the turning away. Pulse concert is beyond epicness and you can react to any of its songs, all is gold there. But I recommend you to try something from the last Gilmour's dvd. The concert was in Pompeii, with the Vesubio in the back and the band playing in the ancient ruins of a thater for just a bunch of fortunate people. It looks amazing and sounds great. A lot of Floyd's songs plus many excellent Gilmour's solo career songs. Do it, you'll love it.
13.08.1994 - Hockenheimring ... One of my best Days in my Life and the best Concert for 25 Years. Then im see Rammstein in Chorzów. 😁 Fun Fact: The Girl in the Middle is Sam Brown. She has 1988 with Stop #1 Hit Song and Sams Mother singing Background for Pink Floyd 20 Years before
i've been listening to guitar music all my life, way back into the (70s) and "pink floyd" are the greatest band i've ever heard. no disrespect to "syd barrett" who they fired through drug abuse and then "dave gilmour" joined and he definety (made the band) to what they became. they just got better and better. you MUST listen to (comfortably numb) from the (pulse) concert. from a guy in birmingham england.
If you want to hear Dave's guitar with out all the extra production, Personally I like " live at Pompeii" version . Dave plays his favorite guitar "The Black Strat" with Jimi Hendix guitar strap ( XXX). sold at auction for 3.3 million plus buyer premium. total 3.9 million. 120 guitars sold for 21 million . I have seen A LOT of his play, the Pompeii was his best.
What you witnessed was David Gilmour CBE having a very intimate conversation with his instrument. Only true consummate masters at their craft have this ability to make their instrument whatever that may be transcend the piece that is being played at the time. He truly made this piece orchestral in his approach. Now you mentioned the other drummer. In the genre that is Pink Floyd, even though there is an emphasis on David as the lead, there are times when that same emphasis shifts to other pieces within the repertoire, or body of work if you will to that of the rhythm section, or the bass guitar, or the keyboards. It has to do with how the piece is arranged and executed. In this piece, it was Gary Wallis the backing percussionist that was to set the rhythm, not Nick Mason, the principal percussionist. Gary was the lead in, and Nick then flowed in behind him. Gary had tools in his toolbox if you will that accentuated the piece's power and authority, which along with David at lead guitar complimented each other perfectly. I hope this was helpful.
Great explanation! Pink Floyd is truly an orchestra, with perhaps a more visible musician (like a 1st violinist) but an orchestra nonetheless. Even during DG's solos, everyone is equal and involved. Little ego, great cohesion. Very rare in bandss!
7 times I EXPERIENCE this show. 4 sets of 32 wireless speakers, enough power to light 1200 homes, 53 semi to move the stage around. Only concert that sounded 10 times better than the studio recording. outside stadium shows the helicopter sound being move around made people look up to see the copter but wasn't there.
recommend David Gilmour live at Pompeii "sorrow' has more bass. Pompeii is Dave with all different band members, except Guy Pratt on base. Should listen to some of his solo work. " on any tongue" "rattle that lock". You will hear some of his guitar work at his best.
Forgot he plays sorrow with his Black Strats. with his Jimi Hendrix guitar strap.( strap has x on it ) Being and end has alittle bit of Hendrix at 33 instead of 45.
The videos can never quite reproduce what it's like actually being there. The first time I heard Sorrow live, in 2015 at the Royal Albert Hall, the bass was so intense it almost knocked the bottle of Sprite I had out of my hand!
I guess you watched it on a computer monitor if not sorry. Also that concert ( on DVD ) was done in 5.1 surround. That concert is in my top 2. God I love it.
Re 2 drummers: jumping guy is percussionist (gong, vast array of percussion sounds) lets Nick focus on set, rhythm and keeping band on point. 2 guitars is for solos (DG) and other is for rhythm guitar. Same with 2 keyboards plus vocals. PF does such complicated studio tracks that they need extra people when playing live.
@Detrucci. I loved your reaction and description (just subscribed). I highly recommend for your own personal enjoyment that you watch Dave Gilmour's performance at the Fender Fiftieth Birthday Celebration. He did three numbers but watch the HD version. In fact, if possible please do it as a reaction.
Ciao🤗 There's a song by Floyd called "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pict" ...really! 1969, from the album "Ummagumma"... will surprise you!!! 😜 Tumbs up from Italy 👍👍👍😊
Now that you're done with PULSE, will you react to some of Delicate Sound Of Thunder songs? If so, these are the ones they did not perform in PULSE: - Signs Of Life - Yet Another Movie - Terminal Frost - The Dogs Of War - On The Turning Away - One Slip Also, this versions of "Time" and "Money" are a little bit different.
I've been waiting for people to start asking for "One of These Days" from "Pulse". David Gilmour really tears it up! The special effects are GREAT too!
My friend I hope you haven't given up on doing Yes! I know you tried to do Roundabout but it was blocked. I was surprised that happened since other reactors where able to post it. So please don't give up on doing Yes. Keep up the great work.
Bass practice session. Japanese/American girl, age 10. Full song {10:49}. 👽Kate Shida👽 YES "Heart of the Sunrise" Live {bass cover} th-cam.com/video/JyzBQfn97WA/w-d-xo.html
Watch keep talking from the pulse remastered video, do a reaction.i was at the first u s show for that tour it was at Joe robbie stadium in Miami .it rained most of the show and no one even complained. t hen seen them again four months later in Tampa stadium ,both shows were excellent.
I'm gonna change one more thing. OK, so unusual and guitar centered is your magic bag. I imagine you know these (you should). They're good for reactions as they don't get as much exposure as they should, and won't get blocked. 1) Liquid tension experiment doing Paradigm Shift live from way back in the day. 2) If you just want uncontrolled shred, go to any of the Biggest Shred Collabs by Jared (maybe start with the first). 3) Polyphia doing Goose or GOAT. 4) Animals as Leaders Brutal Assault 21 live . Again, I put some time into this, and think this may be better suited to your tastes.
Pink Floyd had to act after a tangible scandal during the 1987 tour. What happened ? With this largely computer-controlled light show, it is extremely important that the right lights are used at the right time when the group is deployed accordingly. So Pink Floyd used a special electronic device to correct all incorrectly played notes before leaving the speakers and also to ensure that the bets were correct. They could all have played "Oh Christmas Tree" on stage and out of the PA would e.g. "Wish you where here" was heard. With this complex sound, the second guitar or certain percussion effects were played in from the keyborder, which sometimes didn't really work and that's why there are two drummers and two guitarists on stage.
This aint music , THIS IS ART , listening to Pink Floyd since 1973 .
Yes, is Celestial art.
Wish I was born in 60’s..
I've been listening to PF since 1995. My dad loved them, he apparently used to play PF to me when I was only days old, all the way up to the age of 10 or so. I've been brought up with them and I never will forget who and what they are. The best band of all time.

LSD inspired. LSD quality. LSD enjoyed.
@Nerdy old white Guy Very interesting to watch black folks react to Pink Floyd. It always moves them to tears. Especially "Time".
@Nerdy old white Guy I went to the Pink Floyd laser light show at the Hayden Planetarium in Manhattan at least 10 times, wasted everytime. LOL. Experience of a lifetime, amazing
Pink Floyd were mesmerising.

You can never go wrong w a lil Floyd. Thanks bro. One of greatest bands of all time.
I have listen Pink Floyd since 1990. What a great band and as you said undisputed the best atmosphere creators. Thx again for this experience.
Thank you for watching :)
And MAGIC , THIS IS MAGIC.
BRAVO BRAVO...!!!
P I N K F L O Y D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2nd drummer is called a "Percussionist" - an added drum presence
Thank u so much ... you are so authentic and honest ... every emotion in your face ... i feel the same .... overwhelmed 💕
Fantastic in all respects...please, more from Pulse.
The masters of anticipation, David understands music and our reaction to it, there is no-one quite like him...

“Where would rock and roll be without feedback?” - David Gilmour
Honestly my favourite Floyd song, the hauntingly powerful intro and after taking you on a journey through the song it takes you back to the same dark vibe from the intro to finish it all off.
Yes bro there is the two drummers
This is the Greatest band in the world and in the all times.
Enjoy
Gary Wallis additional percussionist and Nick Mason P.F. historic drummer

Now I understand the 2 drummers question :)
pure art there ... the best of the best ...
If you saw this live the guitar sound at the beginning vibrated your chest in time with the lasers. Amazing.
Love your reaction , absolutely priceless ! There is no better sound than pink floyd! 👌👌
Great reaction! One of my go to numbers when I want to connect and focus on David's ability to draw people in. Solid steady quality where somehow less is more and every note perfected Whereby the listener is heavely rewarded for being patient.
Yes this music piece is outstanding

I enjoy this reaction!! Keep going men!! Shine on!
Thank you
Nothing, absolutely nothing compared to this!! Nothing at all!
Aweeeesommme :) I'm so glad you checked it out and loved it. It's such an awesome performance through and through :)
Unmatched. This concert would have been a sensory overload....total mind job. EPIC.
It Was!
One drummer, one percussionist.
He doesn't play guitar.. He makes it speak...! Great video man! Cracking reactions!
Beautifully said about their patience
Two keyboards as well. That's a great show.😊
I could see by your reaction that was 100 % real satisfaction. Great reaction
"On the turning away" remastered Delicate Sound of Thunder by Pink Floyd :) you'll love it
I TOLD you you would enjoy it !!! Friggin awesome!!!
I know a lot of fans have comfortably numb as their favourite track from Pink Floyd, but this is mine. It is also in my opinion the best version out there.
i can say 90 percent of the react channels are fake acting but this guy is genuine 100% because i have felt wat he is feeling in this video
No matter what you do or how hard you put your feet on the ground ... this song is a crowd behind your back that continues undaunted to push you forward
Great review, young man. There are pretty good reasons I’ve enjoyed Pink Floyd for almost fifty years. This concert illustrates several.
Thank you Alan
my favourite PF song

Check out On The Turning Away from Delicate Sound of Thunder 2019 remaster
You cant go wrong with Floyd!!! One of my favorite concert tapes shows was delicate sound of thunder! The whole show was amazing!
You play Floyd, I'm watchin.
Loved it mate, from an old Kiwi bloke.
One of the highlights of the concert, this song is just epic. I love the way he's controlling the feedback on his guitar. Oh that is really cool, they have a drummer AND a percussionist. Did other bands do that at the time too?

I really enjoyed the Coming back to life reaction from this concert. That may be my favourite so far from PULSE
You got it...There is no rush. Every concert of Floyd that I have seen, there have been 2 drummers. Adds to the effect for live shows
I had read in the 80s, Nick Mason opted for a second drummer because he hadn't toured in a while and felt nervous. Whether that was still true in the 90's, I don't know. Perhaps, by then, the second drummer added a huge voice to their epic performances.

13.08.1994 - Hockenheimring ...
One of my best Days in my Life and the best Concert for 25 Years. Then im see Rammstein in Chorzów. 😁
Fun Fact: The Girl in the Middle is Sam Brown. She has 1988 with Stop #1 Hit Song and Sams Mother singing Background for Pink Floyd 20 Years before
Thank hoy for do Sorrow, the only one!!, Greetings from Chile great song, i saw Gilmour here, amazing, he play this song
Great reaction and your take on Gilmores playing style is spot on.
Detrucci Floyd, Zepp, Tool, Pearl Jam, SRV are my top 5.
Do On The Turning Away (Live) from Delicate Sound of Thunder. My all time favorite of their performances!
Awesome show and reaction. I was there and remember it like it was yesterday. Try keep talking from the same concert.
Best live show ever?
Awe shit here we go
Pink Floyd is not just music. It's a religious experience!
React to Learning to Fly, Us & Them and Dark Side of the Moon - all Pulse live! You’ll be glad you did!
STILL WAITING FOR DAZED AND CONFUSED LIVE
THATS MUSIC BRO!!!!!
Great reaction. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't like Pink Floyd as they must have something missing from their soul.
IMO this set of solos by gilmour kicks com/numb out of the ball park, this for me at this concert is gilmour at his best
I love this one too
When David leaves us here on earth the Fender guitar will cease to speak forever
i've been listening to guitar music all my life, way back into the (70s) and "pink floyd" are the greatest band i've ever heard. no disrespect to "syd barrett" who they fired through drug abuse and then "dave gilmour" joined and he definety (made the band) to what they became. they just got better and better. you MUST listen to (comfortably numb) from the (pulse) concert. from a guy in birmingham england.

Most bands are heard, maybe even listened to.
PF is EXPERIENCED!
Это и есть музыка. Спасибо
If you want to hear Dave's guitar with out all the extra production, Personally I like " live at Pompeii" version . So the two drummers, if you were to ask Nick Mason, he's said in interviews that as he got older he got more tired - literally as simple as that.
There were also 2 keyboardists. The more the better I guess✌️
recommend David Gilmour live at Pompeii "sorrow' has more bass. Pompeii is Dave with all different band members, except Guy Pratt on base. Should listen to some of his solo work. " on any tongue" "rattle that lock". You will hear some of his guitar work at his best.

👍❣️
Pink Floyd puts you in the mood they want to put you in.... Dogs of war live is a side of pink floyd you dont see to often
Ciao🤗 There's a song by Floyd called "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pict" ...really! 1969, from the album "Ummagumma"...
will surprise you!!! 😜
Tumbs up from Italy 👍👍👍😊
Now that you're done with PULSE, will you react to some of Delicate Sound Of Thunder songs?
If so, these are the ones they did not perform in PULSE:
- Signs Of Life
- Yet Another Movie
- Terminal Frost
- The Dogs Of War
- On The Turning Away
- One Slip
Also, this versions of "Time" and "Money" are a little bit different.
A drummer (Nick Mason) plus a percussionist. The Floyd do use an extra percussionist on occasions.
Hola.. chekea " One of theses day " pulse. 😎🤟
I've been waiting for people to start asking for "One of These Days" from "Pulse". David Gilmour really tears it up! The special effects are GREAT too!
Just left One of these days from here too. But can we do an exception and try some "Is there anybody out there?" album songs? Just enjoy
🙂👍😎
Nobody tops Floyd!
Just got tickets for Roger Waters' next tour. Can't wait!
Waiting for him to hit Europe, Enjoy.
My friend I hope you haven't given up on doing Yes! I know you tried to do Roundabout but it was blocked. I was surprised that happened since other reactors where able to post it. So please don't give up on doing Yes. Keep up the great work.

React to "Echoes" from "Remember that night - in live concert"
Terminal Frost next.
