About a minute of using a 3M roloc bristle brush, green, gave me about the same finish with no gouges. I could have sworn that it was your video that led me to that, and I'm forever thankful for it, whoever made it. Going through all of those steps to a finish seems excessive in most cases, not to mention the cost.
Chris very nice job. This video is so helpful and definitely useful video explaining this. Thanks so much. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Don't Die. Keep Forge lit. Keep Making. God Bless.
When chatting with PFERD rep. see if you can get them to provide similar kits for both die grinders and angle grinders. Combidisc 2 to 3 inch kits for die grinder. 7/8 inch hole 4.5 and 5 inch disk kits for angle grinders. I would buy a twisted wheel/cup kit for both angle grinder and die grinder, instead of a pack of each type. Purchases from Canada would be helpful. Some of your links already show as unavailable, BTW.
I'm a welder, as part of my apprenticeship I got to stand and just grind parts for 5 months. Calling the result he got a "Polish"... is almost insulting, you can still see grinding marks clear as day. If you actually wanna polish metal, you'll ALSO need a random orbital sander along with 80, 120, 180, 240, 400, 600 and 1200 grit abrasive for said random orbital sander. Oh and 2-3 hours even if it's just a tiny piece of plate you wanna polish to a mirror. Oh and uhhh, no. You don't need a angle grinder with a variable speed.
Thank you for great content. I always enjoy it. It has been tremendously helpful many times. Those times that you are not covering something I can find directly useful, I always end up learning something. At the same time, are you going to get out to your property upstate at all?
I’ve done countless stairs and railings over the years. The finish you made looks great but would it be practical if you are priming/finish painting? I usually use a 36 grit pad or flap disc and then paint. I rarely went to 80 grit, they don’t last as long or cut as quickly as the 36. Again, that was an awesome finish, just trying to decide if it’s practical for me. Maybe I’ll throw my name in the hat on instagram
@@PkwyDrive13 I finished watching later in the evening and saw that. I wouldn’t mind trying something like that on galvanized that built up or stainless/aluminum but for what I do with steel it’s a bit of an overkill
Do not buy these. I just got mine today. Struggled a bit to get it clicked in but it finally did go on. I didn't even use it because I was skeptical about easy they would pop on an off. Now I have spent the last half hour trying to get the disk out of the backing pad. I can't even get it to turn off by prying it to the left using a screwdriver. Hopefully I can return them or dispute it with the credit card company. They absolutely suck. I feel so foolish for falling for this infomercial

Nicely done, loved how fast and easy was to clean up the metal. Kit and product seems quite easy and fast for use.
I'll always click on "old busted, new hotness" 😁
That is crazy! Love Pferd products. Got tired of using crappy consumables AND paying more overall! Thanks for the share, Chris.
How do you like this compare to the Walter system
Amazing kit I hope they ship to Australia
Nicely done. Bravo as usual.👍👍
Is the grinder guard compatible with the backing plate?
Yeah it will work with the guard, I choose not to use it because it allows me to grind flatter to the work without it.
@@MakeEverything Thanks for replying so quickly
Great video. That locking system is cool. Mahalo for sharing!
As an MIB fan, I clicked on this video because of the thumbnail.
Thanks for the video, I'll have to invest in some of these someday for my shop for cleaning up hammer heads and forging tools.
I can't handle that shine and sparkle. Thanks from Colorado.
Pitted… SO pitted!!!
I want to see this compared to a 3M cubitron II disk. I'd be happy to buy these if I thought they would last as long as the cubitron discs do.
Not even close in any comparison
@@janeblogs324 Which?
Awesome video!!
love the north fac...make everything logo!
Thanks! Me too, now every time I see a north face shirt I think its one of mine 🤭
I see in other videos that you have a precision work table, how do you keep it so clean, and keep it from being covered in weld spatter?

where I can see the video about unitizing disc from you please
Great view of the shine, but stingy with the close-ups of the "pitted" metal.
For viewers that have Menard's in their area, some of these Pferd are available there to purchase as singles.
Thanks for the video
I haven't found singles available in stores or online...yet.
Great product but very expensive specially up here in Canada
Very cool. Thx

These look great(!) - But dang, they’re pricey :-0 Do they last enough longer than less-expensive products to justify the cost for people on budgets?

Prices are way too high, there are many other products that will do the same for less then half the money. Nothing special here.
But these ones give you extreme lung issues if you don't wear a respirator

Why teach novices to work unsafely by demostrating without using a guard,on grinder
