pressure weight(black) straight up =closed pressure weight slightly tilted= open by the way you do not need to keep your finger on pressure release button. just one click per open or close operation

I've just bought this from Lidl! When I got it home, I noticed that the small pressure indicator was loose in the lid, and if I turned the lid upside down it fell out!! Is this normal, or have I got a faulty one?
I've just been having a play with a new one. No the pressure indicator pin shouldn't fall out. It should fall a few millimetres if you turn it upside down as it is sort of loose in there but definitely shouldn't be falling all the way out. It is held by a nut on the underside but I personally wouldn't risk tightening it yourself if you've just got it take it back to lidl for a replacement

THIS POT EXPLODED, VERY DANGEROUS I just got a phonecall from my friend. When this pot was in offer in Lidl Netherlands, it was me who sugested her to buy this pot also. Now I feel so guilty.... She is right now for a weekend to her 84 yrs mother and she decided to take the pot with her to prepare tomato vegetable soup in her mothers senior appartment. It turned out in a disaster, the pot exploded!!!! She assured me that the pot was closed properly and filled not too full. She measured the water to use the right amount of stockcubes. She used 2 liter water and a package of soup vegetables. It was less than 2/3 filled and she used the soup button. The lid blew from the pot in an explosion while they sat in the livingroom on the sofa with a big boom sound. The ceiling,walls, sofa from fabric, the whole kitchen cup boards, everything was dirty and the peaces of leek and carrots where even on the ceiling and the attached livingroom. They were 4 hours busy with cleaning everything and the walls and ceiling from kitchen and livingroom needs to be painted One cupboard is damaged. Imagine what would happen to them if they were in the kitchen..

Haar moeder heeft gelukkig alle schade op de verzekering kunnen verhalen, alles moest opnieuw worden gesausd en behangen en er was een gat geslagen in een aanrechtkastje, kan je nagaan met hoeveel kracht die deksel er af vloog.Wel een enorm geluk dat niemand in de keuken was want ik lees op internet dat er behoorlijk ernstige letsels kunnen ontstaan door een snelkookpan waar de deksel van af vliegt. Ook ernstige brandwonden. Als ik nu soep maak zet ik de pan in de schuur en blijf ik voor de zekerheid ruim onder de max streep. Vond het wel heel zielig, vooral voor haar oude moeder, die vrouw was er weken door van slag. Ik zou met wat ik nu weet liever van een duurder merk zo'n pan kopen omdat ik het idee heb dat die beter worden getest op het gebied van veiligheid.
@@oukour You can't compare a car accident with a spontaneous exploding pressure pot unless your friend died because the car was spontaneous exploding. It is very reasonable to be worried and careful if you have the same brand and type pot what caused so much damage by your friend and what even could have lead to serious injuries.
thanks for the review, I was wondering if the cooking time includes the time it takes for the pressure to build up in the cooker or is that the time from the moment the pressure has raised?
I have one of these cookers... NO... to get to High Pressure, it takes approx 10 mins, and THEN the countdown timer starts.. Also, what isnt really mentioned, anywhere in the instructions, is when its letting off steam, under pressure, its quite a noisy loud HISS....ok.. Machine works well, but i found a few things stuck to the bottom of the stainless steel pot/liner, not badly--i assume this is because its not non-stick, and you cant stir it, under pressure... Hope this helps...
@@Spitfireperson thanks yet it does help. I have bought it and I am experimenting with it. So far I cooked brown rice, porridge and a beef casserole. The brown rice stuck a bit at the bottom but didnt burn, I found some links online to recipes that advise to use an oil spray to lightly coat the inside of the pan for a non stick effect. And I also wiped the oil to spread it around. I have tried with porridge and it worked great (I cooked my porridge for 12 minutes on multi grain setting as I like it super creamy and it was fine). I'm about to start with brown rice again. The casserole I made was a little watery so I'll need to adjust my water content. But apart from that I'm really pleased with it :)
After 6 months using the pot it is not working anymore. I have the same problem as another lady here. As soon I plug it in I get the error " Lid". And continue beeping. It doesn't matter if the lid is on it or not. Anybody having a solution?
Hi Andrew. I bought this pot today and i'm afraid it's broken. The lid does not seal and therefore high pressure is not created. Steam is running around my lid and that's not good. In addition, it makes a strange noisy sound from the beginning. It's something other than your pot. Do you have any idea where the problem might be? The instructions say that I should replace the seal. I did it, but still the same problem. Have a great day. Kate

I hope for you that you can read Greek language as well because I bought this cooker in Lidl Netherlands and the Display language is Dutch. So maybe the display language on the cooker is Greek if you buy it in a Lidl in Greece.
What does it mean when he taps, say, the rice button and then he taps the inner part of the screen and says high pressure. Is he making it higher pressure? Is he just saying that the normal thing is high pressure?
I made spaghetti sauce and splitplea soup with this pan, both burned on the bottom. I never had this problem with my normal pressure cooker for on the stove. What did I do wrong?
@@iraromanova2558 I just searched it for you in the manual. In my Dutch manual is written on page 11( 8.3) : If the lid is laying on the pot but not closed properly you'll get the warning "lid". So you have to close it properly.
@@iraromanova2558 Does it also make a beep sound while you see " lid" on the display? Please read your manual in the booklet. It is in my Dutch manual on page 11. You didn't close the lid properly. Do you see the small signs from a locked and unlocked lock on the cooker? The arrow on the pot must point to the lock sign.
nakkiel7 No you can't you need at least a cup of water to come to pressure if you dont have enough water it wont pressure or it can burn most pots would probably turn off it something like that should happen. But you can steam meat then just broil it for a few min. or put the meat on a hot frying pan just for color and then steam it. Hope I helped 😉
@@ivanapopovic7964 i bought it, you can saute eg. onions and veggies with a little bit of oil without the lid, but yeah you cannot fry something like french fries that need a lot of oil.
I’m surprised that this could have happened. I’ve been using this sort of electric pressure cooker for years and years, decades even, both Instant Pot and SilverCrest. Never had even the tiniest problem other than having a SilverCrest that didn’t work at all and Lidl refunded my money with no problem. But there were none left back then so I just recently bought another when they offered them again. I had InstantPots back in the US but didn’t bring one when I moved to France because of the voltage difference.
I hope this guy isn’t a teacher. He’s not good at explaining things at all. I’m sure that everything he says is correct but he doesn’t explain clearly. Anyone who knows how to use the pot will think it’s all a correct. But you need more than that to be a good teacher.

When the red valve is all visible, means it's closed. When it's half visible means it's open.

You released he steam and burnt the rice, you didn't let it get up to pressure for the timer to count down.

Can you fry something without the lid on?
For your safety; this is not a fryer pan! i think 1000Watts isn't enough to get oil warm for frying!
