The way he curves his body into these elegant positions; the way his hands are positioned so tenderly on his face as if it's truly a lost lover's touch he feels; the way he flexes his fingers with anger and desperation and releases the tension to let them drift into professionally controlled fluidity the very next moment; the way his eyes tell the story of the song in every little detail; the way he let his demon out three times in this choreography alone and makes it just work so perfectly; the way he told the world that he is an actual siren with "Inception" and proved it with "Utopia" and yet the world sleeps on him. Seonghwa looks like paintings of the old masters. His beauty is ancient like the gods it must have been created by; rare, unfiltered, pure, unique and breathtaking. That's not even up for debate. Everyone knows that this man is utterly and divinely beautiful and that his voice is just the same. But it's his talents, his skills, his work ethic, his passion and dedication, his discipline, his brilliance and genius that people just don't seem to see.
Seonghwa such a captivating, passionate, detailed, and multifaceted performer/artist. He shines even more in this comeback not only because of his abs and belly chain surprise. In my opinion, he really shines so much more in Inception truly because his depth, intensity, and complexity matches well with the more dramatic mature narrative, dynamic textural and emotional depth, and varied subtle shifts and nuances in this song, choreography, and concept. He really pulls off the graceful, ethereal, and dreamy with the explosive, aggressive, and fervent, combined together in this song/choreo. He really showcased his range, versatility, and articulation here as seen in his vocals, dancing, and specially in his acting. I always enjoy the little details and layers that he likes to add to build the roles/ characters that he plays in their songs and performances. But, Inception really has become one of my top favorite songs to watch Seonghwa's fancams in. You can really believe and feel the vulnerability, yearning, longing, confusion, disorientation, desperation, anguish, heartbreak, fiery determination, and the feverish passion that he conveys in this song. It's so fascinating that you can also really see him shifting between the intangible and tangible through his eyes and expressions, like he is shifting between his dream world and his reality. I've been a fan of kpop for more than 10 years, and he is one of the best performers in kpop in this generation that I've ever seen, for sure. It's like he was born for this. He's one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen too. He always takes my breath away.
Seongwha slays every time. From facial expression to voice to dancing and control he is perfection. But his stylist...they are on point this era too! And his hair style is legit my fave on him this time.
