Thanks for this! I have a custom font for my logo and I’d love to use it throughout my website! Are there any additional steps to retrieving the font from a file on my computer? (I am not a techi person, so your step by step instructions are much appreciated!)
You'll want to find the original font file - usually an OTF, TTF, WOFF file type. If you don't have the original, you might be able to buy it from a larger font database like CreativeMarket.
like lmk why chat gpt and google and squarespace had zero other directions on how to do this for version 7.1 - your vid is like the only up to date one ive been able to find
If they did a good job explaining everything about how to customize Squarespace, I wouldn't have a job 😜 LOL In all seriousness - I love helping others make the most of the program we're all paying for. If there is anything you want to know about Squarespace, comment on my videos or email me your questions anytime. I'm always looking for more creative ways to help our community: hello-at-insidethesquare.co
Do you every have any issues with certain fonts rendering incorrectly? It seems like on iPad some custom fonts look like they have an extra stroke added or some weird spacing even though it looks great on desktop and mobile.
This is a great question. Safari is weird with some fonts (this forum post has some intersting info: forum.squarespace.com/topic/234062-squarespace-font-not-showing-in-safari/) but it could also be the responsive screen size not rendering the spacing properties; make sure your font related values are using an absolute value like PX, EM, or REM, instead of a relative one like %, vw, or vh.
I love you and I am SO GREATFUL for all teach and share with us❤
Thank you so much!! I'm glad all my work is helping you with your Squarespace projects 🥰
