I'm so happy to see your reaction to Rain Follows. That whole EP is excellent, but that song immediately jumped out. And that outro...whooooooooo

Moonface is Spencer Krug, of Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown and other Moonface that you’ve checked out between my special selections and live stream choices.
Moonface was largely a solo project to begin with but expanded in later recording and tours. It’s very varied, I think, but always very Spencer Krug. That’s a good thing to me.

So happy to see you finally picked up some Vennart! It's the intro track on his second album, so it plays a lot on a vibe, not following a simple ABAB song structure. No wonder you didn't vibe with it since you were more focused on the chat and commenting on the cover in the meantime ;) But if you want something more substantial, then it's not the best choice. Even the next one on the album - Donkey Kong - is definitely way more rewarding. Personally I think you should check out Super Sleuth from the next album. I've no idea why someone requested Binary, as it's not really representative to what is Vennart doing on the first two solo albums (even though imho it's great as an intro). Also surprised you didn't notice how smoothly the 11/8 counting is executed throughout the song ;)
Dean Pearson is playing the drums on this one, rest of the instruments (bass included) is mostly played by Mike Vennart.

Maybe the smoothness of the 11/8 is why I didn't pick up on it 🤔? I'm certainly looking forward to more of Vennart though as I enjoyed that track.
