CHEERS JEFF! I had noted before that Im not big on the holidays. I usually head down to Atlantic City. But, following you around AC, during the holiday season, along with the rest of the NY community, warms my heart. Thank you to all. DO AC! 😊
Always warm and wonderful to watch and enjoy this time of year... so proud of your hard work and we ( I) THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!! Getting down to the end and how about the race for the popup bars this maybe real close, I ma staerting to lean however I will not say so yet.. and of course The Irish Pub I think you have put this place back on the hot stop, last 3 times I was in AC the staff said they have been pack from last Holiday show right through the summer and now again...Keep on trucking Jeff and All the Nu Yawker Family
Thanks for the shout-out. I love the Back bay and Gardners Basin. Glad to see them doing well. Theres so much potential down there. People love being by the water. Hopefully they get that Aquarium open soon. What a amazing job the pub does. Love you knocking one back...Salute!!
i liked the Irish pub the best, such a great history there, I've always wanted to stay there, I've stayed at the Chelsea pub i wonder what that looks like for x mas, there is also a place in ocean city called port a call that I stayed at nearly 20 years ago that really went crazy with the decorations, and free cookies and cakes in the lobby. not sure if its still open but it's a beautiful little town. but I believe its a dry town at least it was when I was there. great video!
My friend stayed at the Irish Pub this past summer. It's "interesting". If you like a slice of history with little to no amenities this is the place for you. My friend was desperate for a cheap place on a Saturday night and booked the pub. You have a choice of rooms with or without a bathroom. His had no bathroom just a bed and a sink and that's it in the room. Shared toilet was on the same floor. For one night he said it wasn't bad.
Check out the rib eye steak sandwich and you MUST try the crab chowder! Here's a video of my restaurant week visit John: th-cam.com/video/7ehPM4A_LHg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4VgFtFZscdyRG4kd
It won't be easy to pick a winner this year like it was last year. Back Bay Ale House is a welcomed addition. very beautiful. is Smithville on the ocean or is it more inland?
I'm from Maryland and Ocean City, Maryland has tried little cute shops, like Shanty Town and toward's the south end of its boardwalk, near the inlet, but its never had a long-go. I don't know if it's the rent for these small shops or if people are more interested in the amusement rides and skeeball, but it seems to be a struggle for the stores to stay in business.. Maybe it's the weather. Maybe people like looking and not buying. I think it's good Smithville has its restaurants, as that would be a big draw for me to go often, then maybe a little shopping.
@@richardsanty9063 Boardwalk and beach areas are even worse, I think. In New York here, Richard, we had a Wendy's (I know you aren't a fan of fast food), but Wendy's is inexpensive as far as eating outside on the water and we had that in the Rockaways on the inlet. Right on the water, can you believe it! And they didn't stay more than 4 years. You could order a $2.59 Frosty or soda and eat outside directly on the water. They boarded it up, lol, put up a wall and put in a Dunkin Donuts.
Nu Yawk had a soundtrack of a piano player when showing the Christmas decorations at the Irish Pub. I know the Irish Pub is known for sports and casino employees, I guess, and everyone actually, but a couple nights with a singer and a piano player at the Irish Pub might be worth trying.
I heard Atlantic City is opening its first gay bar in years next month, the Birdcage. I remember Studio 6 was a nightclub that was gay sometimes, straight sometimes, but it all often ended downstairs at beloved the Brass Rail, where hamburgers and fries were being made all night, the bar open 24 hours, and everyone seemed to get along just fine. I thought it was a step in the right direction: everyone getting along just fine and the party never-ending. As, beloved Rodney King would say, (beloved?) "can't we all get along?"
Yes! It's opening where the Good Dog Bar just closed (the University District). Downstairs is supposed to be for dining and upstairs a lounge with live entertainment. It's opening very soon (January). I'm not sure if they will market it as a gay bar (it's gay owned), something tells me that it will most likely attract that community however. Let's wish it well!
I know a little about a lot of things. I'm a man who is very comfortable in the shoes I wear every day. I embrace all cultures and diversities that enrich my life and avoid those that spread hate and violence. A person who lives this way lives a happy life. I feel bad for close-minded, ignorant people. They must be miserable.
I think next year reposting, re-editing the top 2 properties might be helpful: then taking a final vote. A lot of work, a lot of decorations and I'm overwhelmed. I thought Harrah's is a close 2nd, but it's a lot of information so I'm not confident. A vodka at midnight at Irish Pub to me sounds good right about now. Will the final vote come clear to me after that or should I sleep it off at the Super 8?

The Irish Pub left me speechless.
I did not expect it to be so well decorated.
