So happy to see this! Bruised my rib trying to drift though turn 2 in October. I’m excited to see the kart grip through there in this video. A meet up would be great! Would love to learn some technique from folks that do this regularly.
Ugh if they only put compound down *again* it's not gonna last. Putting a bandaid on the issue and probably spending more money putting compound down than just fixing the freakin surface itself
i saw another person comment on a different IAR video that they are planning some major work in January I suppose this is a temporary solution until then.
The track with grip looks SO much more fun versus what we experienced. We went out Aug 10th, 2024, and it was super bad. Are they still trying to fix it, or is it just going to be slick now?
This is great to see. Hopefully this last a long time and in the long run this is going to save the track money from having to fixed a bunch of damaged karts.
Lots of options. Of course DKC has kart services. Mike Jones and crew are really good at that stuff and actually world class. KRC with DJ Ortiz is a great option. He's a 10 time national champion kart racer and if he can't fix it he'll know many other guys who can all around Texas. Since your a DKC guy already it sounds like Mike Jones would be a great place to start. DJ has mostly been up at Denton for more than a few years
bro when i went it was a bit better but still kinda slippery but that wasnt even the problem, i love going and go like every other month and have started going more. But the differentiation between the carts was insane this time around, i had one race that had a really grippy fast cart. Then the next race I had a cart that literally had no brakes and was really slow, my next my cart was about normal but had no rear traction (but for rental thats finel)
Whish I lived in that area. A meet up sounds great. The track looks a lot better to me I would think it will make for better tighter racing. Thanks for sharing and the up date!
I was out there a few weeks ago. First time on the new layout. I was shocked at how slick it was. I did 7 sessions, and had to make significant adjustments to my driving to accommodate the surface. Best time was a 89.4. The track would be so great with grip. That fast right-left complex is my favorite too!! Great video!!!
Went there over the summer. It was pretty hot that day and I couldn't even get a good enough lap time to upgrade to the faster carts. Almost felt like driving in rain conditions. Good to know they are fixing it up. I'll be returning soon. 👍
Drove the track when it was slick, this looks like a huge improvement. I will say they are making an effort to fix their problem, hopefully they can do enough to fix it permanently.

Raced there in league night and unfortunately whatever they put on the track washed away with the recent rain so it was slick again

hay i know you own your own cart and you can do self mantinice on it but do you know some one ore a place that could do it for you?

Drove it 2 days ago, night and day difference. Way more fun and i hope it becomes as grippy as the south track

A meet up sounds awesome! Haven't made my way out to DKC yet, but I could immediately tell from previous videos this is a dramatic improvement.
