  • Cut out? What the heck does that do? We'll I'm gonna tell you and show you! It's actually really simple, we're gonna look at the internals of a cut out and show you how to adjust a 3 brush generator to kick out more amps and make that electronic distributor burn that gas!!
    You can find new cut outs on www.thirdgenauto.com

    At idle it should be about 0, max during daytime is 5 to 8 amps high speed cruise. Night is when you bump it up... The reason on cutouts to just run so low as there is no regulator to not boil the battery. This is how the model a generators are set up. Just keep an eye on your battery water levels. If it boils it will be a hell of a mess.
    Nice video, I may make one on dialing in the cutout voltage, I've been dialing in the cutout voltages... Mine on the A was stupid low for the cut out, and was discharging at idle. 5.8 volts is now the new cutout voltage for mine. The cut in voltage is 6.25.... If you need a cutout done up man, hit me up... I got a power supply I bought just to do this...
    Cheers bro.

      Ah good to know! I will probably turn it down a little then. I was worried about the lights drawing too much and the eFire not working. I'm running a 6v Redtop optima. Thanks for the help Kev!!

    Sir I have unusual question how come peopel didnt get shocked from those old engines like Ford Model T for exampel ?
    Useing magneto and still baterry not reacting with the magneto or not get shocked?
    I wanted to build some thing for years me Delco 12 si alternator to fead pure dc or ac electricity power to me E Core Hei ignition coil only problem dono how they done it tought ? I dono wuld it work if I add ac capacitors on the three phase winding before the bridge rectifier so the capacitor wuld not react with the lead acid baterry I tough insulating the HEI coil and use only ac capacitor conections but still Im wory that ac spike culd shock me or interfeare with the delco alternator.
    I seriusly have no one to ask about this unusual subjects.
    The delco starter motors s/r types do also odd staff they reminde me at Rosemberg generator they look identical.
    I did in fact starter me car fhew times on that R terminal starter selenoid engine spin slow but it starts it did cinde of mesed up me alternator polarity I ques so Im not shure what happening with that thing perhaps the bendix stay engaged so probably for some reason I experiance parrarel/series baterry configuration even tought there does not exist other baterry and yes be baterry is flat after whew times starting or another thing happening just like be Ford Model T perhaps for some reason me magnet starter motor discharges its magnetic field similar to Fords Magneto flywheel .
    So do you know any thing about that unisual behavior those devices do?and why do they do it?
    I know those old delco alternator back charge and arcing relays but still the starter motors confuse me lot I do have that odd R terminal on me starter motor but I dont have points ignition it does not work on 4pin GM ignition module so preaty much anoying starting such engines.
    Mostly what I am curiuse about dual baterry set ups or baterry/capacitor lay out .
    Perhaps you know more about it those old ass holes build terribel circuets and regulators tremistors ,non present diodes in dashboard shity delco alternator regulators so has any one tryed to solve those known problems?
    Cant finde any thing usefull information on the internet .
    So I hoppe you can help me some what Im doing resurche on old GM Chevy systems how to make them bether and upgrade them

      I think your best bet would be to gather up your parts and go visit with an older gentlemen that still does generator rebuilds. You're asking a lot of stuff I can't answer for you. Good luck.

    Shouldn’t the amp gauge read on the positive side when charging?

    Are those ford hose clamps?

    • @chaddilacdesigns
      @chaddilacdesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL! What clamps? The ones on the radiator hoses are ford, one spun so I used a 50s clamp on the bottom hose.

    Isn't it the same as a voltage regulator on 70's cars/trucks?

    • @chaddilacdesigns
      @chaddilacdesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very similar, and works about the same and you can adjust a regulator also! Thanks for watching!
