    As a sun witch, Ostara is very important to my family. We decorate, pray & wish for all the wonderful things in our lives. I will be getting up early this day to witness those first rays of light upon my skin. Take in the Beauty and Sit to be thankful for what the universe has given me already ✨

      Sun witch!!! I knew there was a reason that I have to be in the sunshine to recharge!

    Oh, Ginny! You are spot on about the lack of work-life balance in the USA. The universities where I work have programs for work-life balance but 🤣, I never have time to attend them. I live in Southern Arizona. Spring happens fast here. Two weeks ago we had freezing temperatures and snow. This week desert bushes are sporting yellow flowers, wild birds are calling and nest building, quail, cardinals and doves. Javelinas pass through my yard rooting for food or just for the heck of it. I spotted a herd of mule deer in the wash by my house as the bushes are sprouting tender leaves. Started seeing jackrabbits roaming on the edges of the dirt road. Nature and your video have inspired me tap into the energy of spring to manifest balance in my life. Blessed Ostara 🌻🕊 (pretend this is a gray dove with blue eyeliner)🐗🦌🐇 (pretend this is a jackrabbit emoji, tan with black, large ears).

      I love the emojis and of course will think of them just as you do… especially like the blue eyeliner on the dove xox

    I enjoy the story of eostre finding the injured bird, turning into a hare that later on the spring equinox lays colorful eggs and leaves them to thank the goddess for saving it ✌️💜

    I love how you said it's good to watch the sun rise on ostara morning while I'm watching this at 2 AM trying to get ready for ostara because I'm an under-prepared beginner witch 😅

      Another baby witch here, I get your prep, but you need energy. Honestly if you can bake, plant seeds or even just work around your altar for a bit, you're good! Every witch celebrates differently, it just comes to you to decide how you do. Hope that helps, and happy Ostara! 🕊️🐇

      @NoahWasHere thank you😁 I appreciate everything about your reply. I was planning on baking pie because I have leftover crust dough, and I have Vining flower seeds that I want to start today.(plus a little spring cleaning) don't have an alter, though 😶 but thank you for your input.:) Blessed ostara!🌷

    It’s interesting about the movable date of Eostara. Easter is the first Sunday after the full moon after the spring equinox!

    • @maywenearedhel
      @maywenearedhel ปีที่แล้ว

      It comes from the lunar calendar, which was used by the Jews to mark passover. And then the Christians adopted it to mark the crucifixion.

    Fab video, Ginny. Ostara used to not really feature in my celebrations but this year it will. My bunny buddy died last year and I find myself drawn to all sorts of rabbit-related things.

    My family originated from the same town in Germany that the Grimm’s were from. I was always fascinated with the stories, the paganism in Germany, and the place in general all while I thought my roots were Celtic 😂 things always come full circle… thanks for another wonderful and informative video. I want to know the history behind what my intuition pushes we toward, and this channel delivers!!

      @Maryam Ahmad Said I can do it my self, thanks 🤦‍♀️ I make my wishes happen with hard work and faith in myself and the Divine Feminine. Not some man. Divines bless you, have faith in your OWN abilities, bc we all have the same spirit inside us.

    Absolutely fantastic and informative video! (New subscriber here) You are absolutely spot on with how people here across the pond do not balance work and home (my British heritage slipped in there a moment), alot of companies here don't allow us to have that balance unfortunately. I'm thankful my job let me continue on working from home after the lockdowns lifted. My kiddos and I will be doing a sun salutation here from home and hanging flowers in the sunroom to dry, later we'll be baking some moon spell cookies and creating wreaths for the doors.

    Just an opinion from the other side of the pond :) If you live in a colder climate - adjusting your rites and practices to fit with what mother nature is doing is more important than following a set calendar --- Imbolc is not a spring rite for us -nothing is growing and there is (sometimes) still snow on the ground! its jsut the half way pint to spring!! :) ... March is still a bit chilly - some bulbs are up and may flower but at least the birds are back, the days are longer !! :) - so don't feel "forced" do to some of the rituals other "witches" and pagans say you "need" to be doing on certain holidays Love the video!! love your little "cubby'" hole is looks so cosy!!

    I love Ostara and I loved this video! Long ago I was frustrated by the lack of information and skepticism that surrounded Ostara. I have a strong science and technology background which makes me very curious about many things. But even with little evidence and scant written sources I was very strongly drawn to Ostara. I could not ignore it. Now I start celebrating in early March and continue through Easter! This is my favorite video of yours so far and I am now a subscriber. I'm from California, which is currently a little on the soggy side. Hope you have a wonderful day and season! 🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇

    I understand that the thought of the Goddess Eostre was the result of a mistranslation, and they merely were addressing the sun. After all, Bede's work was written after most people in Britain had converted to Christianity. Remember, the Romans had brought it there in the 400s. It is a nice thought, but not wholy accurate

    Oh my, yeah the US work life balance pretty much doesn't even exist for most here. You have to overextend yourself to barely get by, and don't even get me started on healthcare. It makes me very sad. This is not how life is meant to live.
