The Tartan (chequered costumes) he wears is more like him, Tartans are used in Scotland to identify a clan and are all different.

The more I analysis the MV, my thoughts I think when he got into the car accident he died where now is between life & death or good or evil (hence the black / white suits); which gets me thinking that its continuum of 'IDEA' because the concept is similar, Angel vs Demon but with a chess board and the back up dancers being as his guards or pons while he plays the roles of king and queen.* It has been 13+ years now for majority of us, Shawols / Taemints and we are so proud of him.
