- A step-by-step Walkthrough of Eye Of The Storm (Doom 64, Map14) for the PC, played through Steam, on the Watch Me Die! difficulty setting. 100% Kills, 100% Items, and 100% Secrets.
MAP14: Eye of the Storm is the fourteenth map of Doom 64, designed by Danny Lewis. The level introduces arachnotrons in a regular level setting (arachnotrons appear in MAP32: Hectic and MAP30: The Lair, which in all chronological fairness the player goes through before entering this stage), and the level features a stormy sky, befitting its title. It uses the music track "Chrystalline Chaos". The level itself is a large castle surrounded by a moat which is filled with demons and zombies.

This is honestly my most favorite level in Doom 64 due to the flooded caste, the creepy demonic chanting music, the purple sky with occasional lighting & rumbles of thunder, and that it’s a pretty simple layout compared to most levels. Also an awesome level to play in a dark room while it’s raining outside.

@@thedkm-4894 my settings only last a month since they are always given for free. from what it looks, he also has the Shotgun Guy, Lost Soul, & for some odd reason, the Summoner from Doom 2016.

Hey BigMacDavis, I love your content, you're one of the best/most professional youtubers I've ever watched.
I like the arachnotrons placed in the moat to prevent you from strafing and picking off the enemies higher above even though you have the space to do so, forcing you to deal with the spiders first. It's a nice touch.
Very well designed and expertly crafted.

Was not expecting to see THAT today. I've been playing the Doom games for a long time, seen plenty of strange things, but seeing a Pinky shove an Arachnotron into the wall and chew his butt off is a new one.

Eye of the Storm was something else. I almost died cause of Pain in the Ass Elemental's & I kept on using Chaingun which I almost ran out there. Yeah I should've used UnMaker instead. Silly me. 😝Infights are the best part of this map. At least I did alright with this map so I find this good. Love the 169 Health at the end. Best part about it!

🤫Doom Guy is hunting........Love the infighting with the Arachnotrons! Nice. I liked the Super Shotgun find and the cool BFG 9000 secret! The structure in this map is really beautiful even though it's mostly water. Very interesting about killing the 3 Barons to get the Supercharge, then killing all the Shotgunners. And after that grabbing the Supercharge and the Cacodemons spawn. That was very intriguing about how if some Shotgunners are alive, less Cacodemons will spawn. And about the enemy kill tip that only spawned enemies count. 169 heatlh. Sweet!
4:21 pure professionalism
Ps: I was actually kind of stuck in this level because of the lost soul trap and pain elemental inside the castle which made me stop playing doom 64 for a good while but when you started your doom 64 playthrough i thought to just wait until you did this level so i knew a proper way to do it before picking up the game again. I know I could have just tried harder and figured things out on my own but it felt better in my head to just wait until you did this level.

Ah yeah. "Eye of the storm" is another one of my favorite maps in "Doom 64" Nice that it is one of your favorites too :) It is so different from anything, you know from "Doom 1" "Doom 2" or even "Final Doom" Even though the sky is not red and hellish you really get the feeling of being in hell. Endless lightnings, demons everywhere and just now way to ever leave this place again. It feels like you are in an unknown region of hell. A region where Doom Guy never was before. The map design in "Doom 64" is amazing. And so far your Walktrhough is very good and I will continue watching :) And yeah, as I said in an earlier comment, I am not leaving comments on every single video but I like them and watch them of course :)

At 1:42, same monsters may not infight at least most of the time, but an Arachnatron stops the plasma bolts...BY ACCIDENT 🤣. It might not be the good idea in Heretic.
My main dislike about this level is that there’s no armor at all. 4:18 I lost it there 😂 demon porn.

Just before you exit the map I'm surprised you didn't mention the view of the mountains. If I'm not mistaken the sky box for the mountains is a shot of Mt. Everest along with the other peaks next to it in the Himalayas. Of course its pained purplish and tinted to make it more darker and hellish.
stellar map design. the next modern doom game needs to take a cue from 64's hell levels.

13:55 the lost souls at the end is the same area where the lost souls spawned above the blue key. I’m pretty sure anyway. Kind of cool how the map wraps back around to the start

I haven’t watched every video admittedly, but is Doom 64 really easy? I played a few maps years ago. No revenants or arch viles?
Doom 64 is really challenging if you're using a controller, and yes, no Revenants or Arch-Viles, particularly because the N64 console has very limited memory.

Nothing like using the chainsaw to kill mid-level demons like the Mancubis and my favorite, the Baron of Hell. Just don't try it on Pain Elemental. The damage from being at ground zero for a Pain Elemental explosion really hurts 🥵
The explosion can instant kill you!!

4:00 the infighting is a great part about classic Doom isn’t it. I was so disappointed when I realized the infighting in Doom Eternal was only for show and is only scripted before you enter an area. I watched to see who would win only to find they don’t damage each other 🙄
That is the absolutely biggest glaring defect with the newer Doom games. I don't want scripted infighting. Might as well not have infighting at all then.
