Just celebrating our first 3 months with our petrol MG-ZS 1.0 liter turbo with manual transmission, panoramic sun roof (moon roof?) that OPENS, electric seats, full 360° camera (never thought about having one - but now I use it to park and love it!!), leatherette seats, electric driver’s seat and with a €40 CARABC adapter - full wireless Apple CarPlay which is super. On a recent 700 km trip with my mountain bike on the removable trailer hitch consumed 5.8 liters/100 km (driving at 100 km/hr in NL) which is over 48 miles/UK gallon; over 40 US miles/US gallon! OK this drops when I drive 130 km/hr in Germany or France but hey, not complaining - better than I was told I’d do by the dealer! Comfortable, roomy, good looking - I’ve had people come up to me and say “What’s this car? It’s really sharp, good-looking!” Hey, it’s not going to win a formula-1 race nor even challenge my 163 horse Volvo S60 diesel- but for camping, shopping - easy parking and “step-up” to get in (unlike our Mini Cooper where we had to ‘sink-down’ to get in) (still loved the Mini!) - OK this ZS is not going to be for everyone - but for €24,000 WITH the trailer hitch and all carpeting etc. etc. - it is about half the price of a Toyota Corolla; €12k less than a Toyota Yaris (which has manual driver’s seat; no manual transmission option, not panoramic roof that OPENS)- and about 1/3 the price of a much bigger Rav4 (I’ve had 2 Rav4’s and great car - but really getting €€€£££$$$ in Belgium…) Will this car last 10 years? I hope so - driving only about 1000 km/month - that’s not a lot! Hope you don’t mind that I made this a rather L-O-N--G comment but really pleased with our 2024 MG-ZS (white). Ford, Nissan, Volkswagen Renault and Stellantis brands have all decided to neglect the lower end of the auto market and foolishly decided to set minimum pricing for their new models starting at £30-£35k. Its kind of the opposite of what BMW and Mercedes did in the 2000's when they moved into the lower end of the market to improve profitability. This has allowed the likes of MG and Chery to move into the lower end of the market which in the current cost of living crisis with (high interest rates) for the foreseeable future, is a huge market. The response by the legacy manufacturers is to demand tariffs on Chinese car manufacturers because the legacy manufacturers want to sell substandard products at a high price
It's weird how many car reviews knock popular cars as 'bad' or 'terrible.' If they're selling so well, maybe the reviewers don't get what regular people want in a car.
And most reviews also put too much emphasis on material quality of the cabin. I mean if it look good and solidly put together, hard plastic is fine. There is a reason these materials are widely used especially in commercial vehicles. They are hard wearing.

Well, MG3 hybrid owners are reporting anywhere to 57 - 72 mpg. Safe to assume the ZS Hybrid will be between 49 - 65 MPG considering it’s the same power train just in a bigger car

It’s so funny that people commenting on reviews of budget cars always have a go at the reviewer for pointing out things that aren’t as nice as more expensive cars. It’s perfectly fine if you want something that gets the job done and you’re fine with cheaper materials on the inside, but it doesn’t change the objective facts that the materials used here aren’t as nice as soft touch materials. Doesn’t make this car worse if you’re fine with that, but in a world where cars are so similar, reviewers have to point out differences between cars. Saying something isn’t as nice as what’s found in a more expensive car isn’t the same as saying it’s bad and you shouldn’t buy it. Watching a video about a budget car should come with the expectation that the reviewer will point out what is objectively not as nice about it.

Very Strange, Polar opposite of Petrol Peds review of this car, he could not say enough good things about it and i bet within a year there will be plenty of them on the road as they cannot be beaten for value for money, do you dislike MG by any chance??
By the time you've figured how to switch to the car's settings from Android or Apple, you will have crashed the car! Manufacturers need to bring back dials and switches for these key functions, not touch screens or even voice commands. They are simply too confusing and distracting and the regulators need to ban them. We get fined and points on our license for using our phones, but not for using a totally useless touch screens on cars. Mind boggling.
The CarPlay and Android auto are right there on the front screen. I’ve been using touch screens with voice control with a button on the steering wheel for years and never had a problem. You soon get the muscle memory for the touchscreen menus you need to use. Are you saying it’s more dangerous to voice command a function than take your hands off the wheel to twist a knob or press a physical button, if so you are wrong and need to catch up with technology.
I agree - but the sad thing is, most reviewers spend more time reviewing the ipad user interface than the car; I personally think these screens are more hazardous than smoking or eating in a car while driving (I don't smoke at all or eat while driving)... Yes - give me a return to simple buttons... Notice the new Mini's have lost all manual switches in favour of a big round screen...
Leather / PU Leather etc; incendiary in the summer and freezing in the winter; I couldn't agree more. But lets call 'Pleather' what it really is; plastic sprayed cloth...
Honestly - I thought the same and then test drove it; it's trippy; massive torque all the way; seamless switch from motor to combined engine and motor; seamless switch between gears. It feels almost like a CVT - let me qualify; like how I would want a CVT to feel; the Lexus and Toyota CVT are to me; appalling. The MG Hybrid 3-Speed is honestly, astounding...
Thank You for the First ZS Hybrid+ Test Drive . You get what You pay for... Excellent Car for the money, 7years Warranty, but very noisy, unconfortable seats and suspensions, bad ergonomics . Very disappointed..I was 1 inch near to sign a contract
This still looks very narrow like the old model which was a dealbreaker for me as was worried it would look “cheap” on the driveway! For many this will be a great family car!
And they’ve made it even uglier with those fake exhausts. Ugh! I had a hire one recently and I could barely get a bike in the back with the front wheel removed whereas in my Golf WAGON there is plenty of room to spare. I hope they’ve improved the media system. It kept defaulting to AM radio instead of the Bluetooth connection every time you restarted the car and at a much louder volume. Terrible car, would have appalling resale value.
Ah! As long as your driving position isn't behind you're exhaust I'm sure you'll get used to it! Yeah - it's not perfect; but for £22K new it's pretty good! Go test drive - I don't think you'll be disappointed... I was amazed!!!
I much prefer the Dacia Duster which is much more beautiful and more rewarding.. the ZS is really very bland 🤦 you could take it for a car from the early 2000s..As much as the new HS 2025 is pretty but the zs is really bland especially the rear.. the ideal would be to have the hybrid+ engine in the new HS 2025 model but no the Chinese are too stupid to do that
It’s a better looking car but all these snags MG should have rectified before putting it on sale Don’t like the scratchy plastics they mark way to easily
Now mg are on the top 10 worst cars and I would not go for mg they are very cheaply made I hate the MG zs then now making a hybrid version that crappy car

If Chinese cars succeed the Germans then you’ll be paying a hell of a lot more for them - then you’ll be complaining. They are cheap for a reason!
No no, Belgium wins in that category, big time.
Good fair review
NOT the MG-7Seater Hybrid i hoped for 🤷
Very Strange, Polar opposite of Petrol Peds review of this car, he could not say enough good things about it and i bet within a year there will be plenty of them on the road as they cannot be beaten for value for money, do you dislike MG by any chance??
By the time you've figured how to switch to the car's settings from Android or Apple, you will have crashed the car! Manufacturers need to bring back dials and switches for these key functions, not touch screens or even voice commands. They are simply too confusing and distracting and the regulators need to ban them. We get fined and points on our license for using our phones, but not for using a totally useless touch screens on cars. Mind boggling.
More importantly is the brake assist, which in many cars is too sensitive e.g Skoda, it's dangerous
Kierownica jest regulowana w dwóch płaszczyznach?
I hope MG will come to the Bulgarian and Baltic markets by 2025.
Red MG's look good.
80 missed calls?! 😱
Great review as ever. Why is leather - real or fake - regarded as premium? Give me a decent quality cloth seat any day :)
Leather / PU Leather etc; incendiary in the summer and freezing in the winter; I couldn't agree more. But lets call 'Pleather' what it really is; plastic sprayed cloth...
It looks good but potentially the design is more boring?
Love the interior ❤
3sp automatic? Surely not in 2020’s
No sunroof on the new HS or ZS
Car of the people 😊
Thank You for the First ZS Hybrid+ Test Drive . You get what You pay for... Excellent Car for the money, 7years Warranty, but very noisy, unconfortable seats and suspensions, bad ergonomics . Very disappointed..I was 1 inch near to sign a contract
Try the honda SUV hybrid, it's so noisy
If its anything like the HS stat well away
I don’t miss a day a week kislux This show..
Mirror placed in wrong position
The rest is perfect in design
I love china ❤
Whr is the other guy?
Dacia Duster FTW!
No.
@@davidspencer7254 Yes. They even came out with a video crowning the Duster.

Nonesense review , quite snobbish I’m afraid , they’ll sell like hotcakes price price price !!! Get real
It looks so old. Weird considering the previous ZS was actually quite nice to look at. The new one looks like a 2009 car.
Ah! As long as your driving position isn't behind you're exhaust I'm sure you'll get used to it! Yeah - it's not perfect; but for £22K new it's pretty good! Go test drive - I don't think you'll be disappointed... I was amazed!!!
Beware, Skoda fanboys
I much prefer the Dacia Duster which is much more beautiful and more rewarding.. the ZS is really very bland 🤦 you could take it for a car from the early 2000s..As much as the new HS 2025 is pretty but the zs is really bland especially the rear.. the ideal would be to have the hybrid+ engine in the new HS 2025 model but no the Chinese are too stupid to do that
If u mention the word ‘price’ just display it. Annoying as hell otherwise. Thanks for listening.
Proper disabilty motor costing the the people who work for a living a tidy sum!
It’s a better looking car but all these snags MG should have rectified before putting it on sale
Don’t like the scratchy plastics they mark way to easily
Pay £10 k more for a quashcai and it still marks
Now mg are on the top 10 worst cars and I would not go for mg they are very cheaply made I hate the MG zs then now making a hybrid version that crappy car
Very fussy reviewer.
Nice 🇸🇦💚
So it’s rubbish basically.

cheap fake chinese luxury with no reliability history and poor resale value. Great deal 🙄
Just buy a Duster
Sometimes the "off-brand bargain" is less value than the real thing. I won't touch an MG.

Have you ever drove or owned aMG
Too many compromises for me.

Good luck when chinese cut those brakes remotely. Pass.
you mean Israel ? 😂
Now this is a conspiracy theory I have yet to hear about. 😅 What next, Samsung decides to remotely rig it's TVs as bombs for no reason?
@@shroomyescno no you don't get it. Samsung is Korean, they're kind, here they're Chinese so they're evil. Facebook told them so
