I was hoping to see the full review for this bike when I was looking at upgrading but but the bullet and bought the bike anyway a couple weeks ago. Your review is spot on, the only thing I would fault with this bike is the fork. It just doesn't like to travel smoothly at all and the rebound does nothing. Having said that, for the price I'm still really happy for my first full suspension bike. I'll be looking at upgrading the fork in the near future. Thanks for the review.
Good to hear you're digging the new bike Bob! It's a terrific riding bike that's for sure, and such a good package for the money. Apologies we didn't have this review out earlier - I held off publishing it as I wanted more ride time on the fork to see if it would bed-in further and whether the performance would improve. Unfortunately it didn't though. I'd love to try the Siskiu D6 with a better fork, as I think it would really unlock the potential. Enjoy the new bike mate, and good luck with the fork-hunt! [Wil]

I bought one of these for the GF to get her into biking. She loves it and her confidence has improved enormously. Having a dually was important as we wanted simular bikes so we both enjoy the same trails.
that front shock holy jesus. thats another few hundred dollars if you want an upgrade. but other then that shes a bargain! amazing price and modern geometry. crazy to think you couldnt get anything like that 5 years ago! wow

Review was spot on. Explains exactly why I went the D7 in the end - front forks. Sure the Recon is low end Rock Shocks but man, they are light years ahead of the XCR.
Haha. I did buy a d7. This past Christmas. I just couldn't past of the price. Over the past 5 mouths. I upgraded the hell out of it though. All xt drivetrain. Shimano zee brakes. Troy Lee designs theme carbon handlebar. Rockshox Pike rct3. Rear shock rockshox monarch plus rc3. Raceface turbine wheelset. Odi grips. Nukeproof flat pedals.
Nice review. I'm just about to put together the 2022 version bought recently from bikesonline recent flash sale for $1599 👍. I'm exactly the guy you quoted. New to the game again with a 20 plus year old MTB in the shed. Wish me luck.
Recently just purchased a giant fathom 2 2022 for 1700$ aud and after seeing this vide maybe made me think about my choice but overall I still think a hard tail for the price range is better as you can have more money spent on better parts then cheap parts all over on a cheap duely love the video man
Loved the review Will. You focused on the bike as a first dual suspension proposition, not a cheap low budget not prestige badge bike. Interested to hear your thoughts on this vs the Giant Stance!
Thanks Thomas, glad you enjoyed it mate! Bit more riding to do on the Stance (it's one of 8 test bikes at the moment!) but hoping to wrap that one up soon as it's been an interesting journey as well. So cool to see some really more budget-friendly bikes out there that actually ride with confidence - I wish they were around when I was first getting into mountain biking! [Wil]
Thanks, great review. I was looking at the cheaper model as thats more in my price range. Not sure if its worth getting a better spec hardtail? what do you think. Thanks
i brought a near new 2016 Siskiu D7 which came with a RockShox and im so glad i did. The Santour is soooooo bad compared to the plush RockShox. I have put about 1000kms on mine so far and nothing has gone wrong, nothing has broken and it still rides like new, all be it with regular maintenance. I think bang for buck, you really cant go wrong with these bikes.
Hi mate, great video. Wondering if you have had a chance to test the 2022 models in the D range and the T range of Polygon Siskiu? I don't have the cash for a nice Canyon so Polygon is where I'm at for budget. Either the D6 or if I somehow find another 2k, the T8. Cheers
Probs been asked before, but best full sus bike around $2500. If this D6 is best for price and D7 is better than this as well with giant trance/stance etc for handling/comfort/steez. I like the polygon t8 even though 1k more than 2500, is there something that really stands out for $2k/$3k out of box, or what would be the best Frankenstein thing you could build for that price in you honest opinion, can you match or beat something stock for $2500/3k ?? Just super curious because of your experience. I’ve been watching your videos a lot, I’am super new to full suspension, I think trail and enduro is the sweet spot for me and $3k or less is what I’d like to spend unless t8💁🏼♂️. Which seems good and complete package in my limited knowledge. Appreciate the time and effort put into the vids, and the reviews you make there’s some wicked bikes out there mate. Keep up the great work 🙂
Damn. Looking at the price on this i knew there was gonna be a catch. Haven't bought yet but might still consider it. Hopefully i'm able to upgrade the fork without going over the budget.
Great review Will. I’m really interested in The 2022 siskiu d7. Not many in-depth reviews on that. How would this bike compare to the fuel ex 5. My budget is tight. But the Siskiu just seems so appealing especially regarding budget. Anyway keep up the great work love watching your channel 👍
Great video content, as a 40 something year old jumping off a rust bucket hard tail to ride with young kids keen to explore the bush I'm torn between hard tail, D series or even T series. Want something that won't hold me back chasing kids as they grow but concious of over specs ill never need also. Great presentation of alternative options to consider and where they benefit 👍👌👍
I found a yt Capra 27 al base 219 for $1800 aud. 170mm front and rear. lyric front and a super deluxe r back. SRAM nx all round and code rs brakes. And a 170mm dropper. Adjustable geo and Dt Swiss rims.... better value but it’s on discount so this will be a good option in the long run
Great video! Do you know if the front hub can be converted to thru axle? I'm trying to decide between the D6 and D7 but would like to be able to upgrade to a thru axle boost fork when the time comes.
Hi Andrew! Thanks for watching, and stoked to hear you enjoyed the video! No - unfortunately the front hub can't be converted to thru-axle. There are some forks available in the aftermarket with a tapered steerer tube and quick release lowers, but you'd be spending more than the difference between the D6 and D7. [Wil]
Hello, which fork would you choose between the two? ROCKSHOX Recon Silver RL SA Boost 29inch 130mm Offset: 51mm ROCKSHOX 35 GOLD RL 130mm DebonAir Tapered 44mm Offset Boost The fork will mount on a d6 polygon.
Thanks for the review! Just picked up a 2021 model and looks like they went to a through axle design with the new model. What fork would you recommend as a solid upgrade that wouldn’t break the budget?
Great job , looks like D7 is on sale, thinking based on your review that be a great first Full suspension bike for me ..... Currently Riding Giant Talon 29er Hardtail... love it but would like a full suspension too ...
I wasnt happy that when my T8 arrived (around 5/01/21) the cool lil cardboard box inside that had all the paperwork and tools etc had been opened and pretty much dumped out inside the big box and the big box had a hole in the bottom from shipping so who knows what was missing. More importantly- they had Vee tire co tires on the bike instead of the Schwalbes that they listed. - Those are worth about half as much by the way. -also a paint chip by the emblem on the headtube. So I emailed them -only about the tires- asking them to take the vee's back and send me the Schwalbes... The bikes online guys try to distance themselves from polygon like it was a different company and took zero responsibility for the manufacturer swap. (polygon is the only bike online bikes sells) They said there was a shortage (obviously you can buy as many Schwalbes as you want on Amazon). They said I should be glad i didnt have to wait longer for the right tires ( I did wait about 4-5 months). Im ok with taking a chance to save money adjusting the bike myself etc, Im not ok with this company not sending me what they advertised and what I paid for.
So far I'm happy enough with the Vee tyres that came on my T8. The tools etc come in a 200mm sq box - there's not much in it. They say that they will send your bike with different parts if need be.
Great vid. Quick question, this bike geo says that the bb drop is 47mm, bb height is 326mm, I compared to a lot of different downcontry bikes and this Polygon D6 has a veryyy low bb drop and height. What are your thoughts of that? Did you get any pedal strikes?
if you're gonna get into mtb and you're looking at buying this bike, id REALLY suggest getting the D7 as it is the highest spec'd one and it's only a few hundred dollars more than the D6. the fork on the D7 will actually move too unlike on the D6 or D5. If you plan on upgrading anything at all, you're better off going with the slightly more expensive version as you'll end up spending far more on the lower end ones to even match the performance of the D7 in the long run and people will probably be more inclined to buy the D7 if you end up deciding to sell it in the future for a better bike
Thanks Zac! The main difference between the two bikes is that the Siskiu D5 comes with smaller 27.5in wheels, so it'll feel a little more agile, though it won't roll as smoothly over rough ground. Personally I'd much prefer the 29in wheels on a bike like this, as it'll give more stability and confidence for the rider. I also think the 1x drivetrain on the Siskiu D6 is much easier to manage - you only have one shifter to worry about, and changing gears becomes much simpler. On top of that, you get a dropper post on the Siskiu D6, and that's a HUGE benefit for riders in terms of confidence - you can instantly lower the saddle at the flick of your left thumb, which makes descending much easier and you'll feel more confident as a result. If you're looking to get into mountain biking and trying out new trails, then for me the Siskiu D6 is easily the better option out of the two bikes. Hope that helps! [Wil]
@@FlowMountainBikeTH-cam Wow! thanks so much for the detailed response! That really helps , I really like both bikes, but I think I'm lenient towards the D6 :)
Hey there, circling back on this video. It's price is currently much lower and I wanted to know your opinion on what a good value would be for the D6 with the XCR32 Fork in place. I.e. If under 1k would you get it and immediately swap the fork out?
Could you do review for Polygon Diablo? Found some Australian site selling this new bike. It's rumored to be successor of Polygon Entiat here in Indonesia.
Glad you enjoyed it mate! We don't have a Norco Torrent on the review schedule, but I do have something arriving soon that I reckon you're going to like a lot :-) Stay tuned! [Wil]
Thinking to buy secondhand Polygon siskiu d6 2018 vs. GT avalanche expert 2014 vs. Giant fathom 29 2 2017. Which one would be the best choice if its conditions and prices are same. Please help me any advice and suggestions? Thanks!
Hi, i like this bike looks nice, seen it for £650. I dont really ride bikes but thought i should have a good bike for best experience & getting fitter. Is there a weight limit for rhis bike? Im 21 stones body weight. Would be riding on road and countryside sometimes. Just want to get fitter and enjoy the process of doing so Any advice would be greatly appreciated 👍
I recently bought D6, I am having trouble with water bottle. I bought side bottle cage and still cannot find the right soze bottle in store. Can you suggest the bottle size you used on your bike or send me the link you bought from. I will really appreciate 🙏
Hey Diego! Are you talking US dollars? Here in Australia the base Stumpjumper sells for $2,900 AUD, so it's about a grand more than this Polygon. I actually compared the price of a bunch of entry-level mountain bikes in the article on the website from brands like Specialized, Trek, Giant, Norco and Marin. Check it out if you get the chance! [Wil]
Wait if its 1900 Australian dollars that around 1200 euros if im not mistaken, does anybody know if this bike is also available in europe? more specific in austria
Hello there Will! Nope - the 2021 Siskiu D6 is very similar to the 2020 model we tested in this video. The frame, fork, shock, wheelset, tyres, brakes, dropper post and cockpit are identical. The only real difference is the move to a Shimano Deore crankset and cassette, so the quality is a little higher there. Otherwise it's pretty much the same. Hope that helps! [Wil]
You guys should also review another Indonesian bike like Thrill Ricochet T140 / T160, it has way better suspension system than Siskiu's and also it's cheaper.
Image what you could buy for 2400€ back in 2017. There you got a jeffsy with RockShox Pike RC , Deluxe RT, Sram X1, Raceface Turbine Kit, DT Swiss wheels and Maxxis Tires :D That was incredible value! Briging the Siskiu to that level would be way more expensive.
I had Polygon TR6, was an awesome budget, well-specced plus hardtail that could run 29'' wheels. If this full-sus was TR6 with a rear shock, it would be the bomb. But that fork totally ruins this bike. I bought one for my 29er hardtail recently, thinking that Suntour fork with air and rebound adjust surely would be ok, but no it was absolute shite. Not only is it sticky in it's travel, rebound is useless, it also nearly completely stops working in
Sorry to hear you've had a similar experience Paul, and I hear you on the effects of colder temperatures on the XCR 32! Certainly a fork upgrade would unlock a lot of potential. [Wil]
Good Video Nice COLOR BUT !!! this Bike is a FAUX 4 BAR Rear Suspension the Rear Fulcrum is ABOVE the REAR AXLE !!! (on the Seat Stay ) HORST Suspension the FULCRUM is BELOW the REAR AXLE just in Front ( on the Chain Stay )
Wow, I can't believe they got this cheaper than the Vitus mythique... I may just save up for this instead. They bumped up the price of the mythique too.
Hello people all i can say is that this bike is amazing i had four brands bikes full suspension over 4000 and i decide to try this bike and be honest this bike is well make super fast little heavy but i love this bike
$2k for "decent" hardtail bike you say? What would be reasonable price for "good one"? Close to sedan or even SUV? Two rubbers, couple flat gears, welded pipes and "suspension"... Wonder what's The Real Price out of factory.
Hey there John! We put in quite a bit of info in the video about the Siskiu D6 vs the Siskiu D7, and there's also more info about the three models in the review on our website that should help answer your question; flowmountainbike.com/tests/2020-polygon-siskiu-d6-review/ [Wil]
Hi there Jonty! When our test bike arrived, both the fork and shock come were already inflated, but they had much too much air pressure for my riding weight. You'll definitely want to adjust air pressures to your weight - I'd recommend getting a shock pump to do it yourself, or you could try asking nicely at your local bike shop. [Wil]
Good review, shame about the fork, otherwise sounds good. I would love to see you guys test some aggressive hardtails- Something like the Marin Nail Trail, San Quentin, Polygon Diablo, or Norco Fluid HT.
It is nice to see more brands hitting the sub 2k price point for dial suspension bikes as it will definitely encourage alot more riders to get into the sport!!
Agreed Christopher - and that can only be a good thing for the sport as a whole. [Wil]

Bikesonline had one left before preorder
Great review, would love to see FMB review a Norco Torrent
Just want to get fitter and enjoy the process of doing so
Any advice would be greatly appreciated 👍
Would this bike be good if I just was riding on footpaths and doing some small jumps (I’m a beginner) cheers
I recently bought D6, I am having trouble with water bottle. I bought side bottle cage and still cannot find the right soze bottle in store. Can you suggest the bottle size you used on your bike or send me the link you bought from. I will really appreciate 🙏

Flow Mountain Bike, what is the bottom bracket size?
what is the difference between single pivot to fsr/ four bar links ? looks same to me haha
Any suggestions on frame size for a 180cm height person?
17 inch , 18inch, 18.5 inch or more?
Would you recommend this as a first full suspension to a new mountain bike rider. (I’m not planning to upgrade any parts)
I love the color of this but I can’t find it anywhere
What’s the best dual suspension mountain/trail bike $1000-2000aud
The tyres seem to be the ones they have been using on the Aldi MTBs but just rebranded as Entity.
How about the base stumpjumper? $1900 and 1x12
[Wil]
Flow Mountain Bike oh yeah, sorry!
Wait if its 1900 Australian dollars that around 1200 euros if im not mistaken, does anybody know if this bike is also available in europe? more specific in austria
Just wondering is there any/much difference on the new 2021 d6?? If so you will you be trialling that new range?
Hello there Will!
Nope - the 2021 Siskiu D6 is very similar to the 2020 model we tested in this video. The frame, fork, shock, wheelset, tyres, brakes, dropper post and cockpit are identical. The only real difference is the move to a Shimano Deore crankset and cassette, so the quality is a little higher there. Otherwise it's pretty much the same.
Hope that helps!

Where are the trails in video. Look great for ride
You guys should also review another Indonesian bike like Thrill Ricochet T140 / T160, it has way better suspension system than Siskiu's and also it's cheaper.
OMG. I can't find a store where this bike is available for purchase. I'm not from Australia, that's so sad :(
You can buy at rodalink.com official store of polygon bike
Can you do a giant reign 29 review
(Preferably the alloy version)
We don't currently have a Reign 29 on the review schedule, but that's a great recommendation Zak!
Where do you get this colour?
What about the vitus mythik?
Image what you could buy for 2400€ back in 2017. There you got a jeffsy with RockShox Pike RC , Deluxe RT, Sram X1, Raceface Turbine Kit, DT Swiss wheels and Maxxis Tires :D That was incredible value!
Briging the Siskiu to that level would be way more expensive.
1899 australian dollars is around €1150
youre comparing it to a bike more than double the price, obviously itll have better specs
is there a link for the bike? i would love to check it out!
canyon spectral al 5.0?
Seeing these for $1099 right now. Worth it for a bigger rider? 280lbs
Do you know where can i get it when im from europe ?
It's all online I think
Where can I get this bike!
I just got an d6se in the uk for £769.15
I had Polygon TR6, was an awesome budget, well-specced plus hardtail that could run 29'' wheels.
[Wil]
the special edition of this is $999 right now
Where did u buy it off
There's a hand full of really solid full suspension bikes sitting at $1500 usd and even more at $2000
Good Video
Nice COLOR
BUT !!! this Bike is a FAUX 4 BAR Rear Suspension the Rear Fulcrum is ABOVE the REAR AXLE !!! (on the Seat Stay )
HORST Suspension the FULCRUM is BELOW the REAR AXLE just in Front ( on the Chain Stay )
Wow, I can't believe they got this cheaper than the Vitus mythique... I may just save up for this instead. They bumped up the price of the mythique too.
I have a polygon hardtail and its so good.
Awesome this was really really helpful thankyou!
Does the front hub that comes on this bike handle and boosted size fork?
No it doesn't Tim - the front hub is quick release only, so if you put on a Boost fork you'd need a new front wheel too. [Wil]
I'm new to riding and have just really gotten into it. Should I get the D5, D6 or D7?
Hey there John! We put in quite a bit of info in the video about the Siskiu D6 vs the Siskiu D7, and there's also more info about the three models in the review on our website that should help answer your question; flowmountainbike.com/tests/2020-polygon-siskiu-d6-review/ [Wil]
When it comes out of the box do you have to set up the air suspension
Hi there Jonty! When our test bike arrived, both the fork and shock come were already inflated, but they had much too much air pressure for my riding weight. You'll definitely want to adjust air pressures to your weight - I'd recommend getting a shock pump to do it yourself, or you could try asking nicely at your local bike shop. [Wil]
Ok thanks love the vids
Good review, shame about the fork, otherwise sounds good.
I would love to see you guys test some aggressive hardtails- Something like the Marin Nail Trail, San Quentin, Polygon Diablo, or Norco Fluid HT.
We've got something coming that you might be interested in Pete - stay tuned! [Wil]
@@FlowMountainBikeTH-cam Excellent, looking forward to it Wil.
Hi, if anyone is wondering, size large is ~15.3kg.
Im sure carbon bars, upgraded PEDALS and tubless conversion would take a few lbs off lol
You should review the D5 and D7 too
