    His clean funk playing grabbed me from the first note.

    I bought one of these in January 2019. Once I had replaced the strings with Ernie Ball Slinky’s, adjusted the intonation ( it was progressively very sharp up the arm) so I now have a perfect octave on the 12th fret. It is a lovely guitar and a joy to play!

      Does the satin polyurethane finish offer a nitro-like experience? As in, can we expect it to wear in the same way?

      @@KunalSinghMusicNo! It’s still poly just with a satin finish. Poly will always look new, even in 30 years! Nitro ages and wears off. I’ve three Fenders with nitro and I absolutely love the way they wear. In fact I’m over protective of my poly guitars as it shatters and dings pretty badly if impacted. Whereas my nitro models can take a good amount of knocks and it only adds to the natural wear.

    Awesome playing, dude! Just wondering, first, if you've tried out the American Performer Stratocaster and, second, which you'd pick if you had to choose one (especially since the pull-up tone knob of that particular Stratocaster can engage its neck pick-up irrespective of which pick-up is being used). Thanks!

    So if I put a set of these pickups on a"player" Tele, would I be able to justify the $$$ difference? or would it be obvious?

    • @Gabe-1997
      @Gabe-1997 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tried both in the store and found the American Performer even more comfortable than the Player model but that could depend on your preferred fret size as I think that's the main difference other than the bridge design.

  • @KRAZEEIZATION
    @KRAZEEIZATION 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That’s funkin’ good stuff!
    Frets are jumbo!
    Tuning heads are vintage.
    I love that axe, sounds beautiful.
    I’ve two Highway One Teles and an American Special.
    I love those things. Be nice to have a Performer but the colour choices are pretty poor to be honest.

    I have one of these, a 2020 in HS. Pickups are great, really great. Good neck shape, tall frets are easy to play. I struggle to like cheap satin finish and untinted white neck. I would sell it if it didn’t sound so good.

      You can get one in high gloss now... I bought the performer in honey burst high gloss...and it looks epic... especially with the cream pick guard I put on it . I bought a professional II also but recently sold it because I didn't care for the clean tone in it... sounded flat...but I love the clean tone of the performer. The only thing I liked on the professional was the push push but a just bought a three way switch to have installed on my performer which will give it six to tones vs three ..

    • @oldgoattheantichrist3468
      @oldgoattheantichrist3468 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have also noticed this in many demos of these guitars. Might be the box they are using or these guitars are not well shielded or these new Alnico 4 pickups are susceptible to noise?

    • @cliffcampen4033
      @cliffcampen4033 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@oldgoattheantichrist3468 All Fender single coil pickups are a bit prone to this but usually being careful with the amp setup (making sure that the right plug pin is to ground it's a small problem). N'Stuff is the great local music store in my neighborhood (Blaw Knox Pa) and I think sometimes they get busy. Just giving them a little clue. The guys that audition the guitars are always very good. Always thought Fenders were crap until I owned one. 73 years old never too old to admit when I was wrong.

    • @NStuffMusic
      @NStuffMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@cliffcampen4033 We have been using the same amp, electrical circuit, and lighting for about 5 years now. This is for consistency purposes. You guys out in TH-cam land hear exactly what we hear. We don't mask or hide anything that we do demos on. That would be very misleading to the consumer. Thanks for checking out our videos!!!

    • @cliffcampen4033
      @cliffcampen4033 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NStuffMusic The 60 cycle hum is apparent during this video and not during others from N'Stuff. I bought my Player Baja from N'Stuff shortly after Mark auditioned that guitar. I have guitars with single coil and humbucking pickups and the only time I've had hum problems is when the polarity of my 110 vac outlet got swapped when I added a hex-outlet expander. There is no doubt that single coil pickups are a bit more susceptible than humbuckers but getting the ground path through the amp correct is at least with my equipment more significant. As a suggestion, I'd question if there has been anything changed in the power path, outlet, power strip etc. It is most apparent when Mike is talking not when he's playing. His choice and execution of the demo material are very nice and it certainly sets this guitar off perfectly.
