This app continues to be the best value in image editing. I second the plea for an on-par featured version for iPad. The thought of doing this with my M4 iPad Pro and Apple Pencil has me drooling.
I am fairly new to Pixelmator - like 6 months, and I've been snacking on TH-cam tutorials in an ad-hoc method.
Is that a practical approach to learning Pixelmator, or do you have any recommendations for a full, comprehensive tutorial?
I love that instead of showing the background removal feature as though it was perfect, they used a commonly seen flaw to showcase the new menu controls to refine the mask. Bravo!

is there a way I can add a stroke to a mask? For example, I made heart shape mask of a person and now want to add a red stroke and shadow to it.
Masks can only hide or reveal layers but cannot have colors or styles themselves. What you can do is Control-click your mask in the layers sidebar and choose Save to My Shapes. This will create a shape identical to your mask in the My Shapes collection. You can then add it as a shape layer to your design using the Shape tool and style it by removing the fill, adding a stroke, and turning on drop shadow. Hope that helps!

I don't understand what is difference between "vector mask" and "clipping path" (available in Pixelmator Pro 3.5)? I can modify vector shapes of a clipping path, blurring edges, move rotate clipping path and content inside.

@Rillages is right - with vector masks, it's much faster, plus you can move the image around without worrying that your shape layer will peek through if you move the clipped-on layer beyond its bounds.
@@PixelmatorVideos I have updated Pixelmator Pro to 3.6 and… yes, new maska are much more comfortable and intuitive than clipping path. Very good update for me because I don't like clipping paths (in each application). 😃 Thank you! 👍
