That’s wicked. I hope to work the for the AA some day. I was unsuccessful in my apprenticeship process 2 years ago. But now I’m about 6 months away from finishing my level 3, so hopefully I can join the AA as a qualified mechanic. Not gonna give up 🤞🏽
@@leobronson5464 I passed the course! Unable to get into the AA unfortunately 😢 But I’m in a used car dealership now. Mostly just servicing cars, but it’s a start at least
From my experience check any car your borrowing hiring or leasing has a pumped up spare wheel with legal tread free from defects, a wheel jack WITH handle, a wheel brace that actually FITS the nuts or bolts, a locking wheel nut adapter if locking nuts are fitted and very IMPORTANTLY an extension bar for the wheel brace to get the leverage to open wheel nuts or long bar with correct size socket. Carry a few aerosol cans of Holt's Tyre weld to fix small punctures temporarily only a few quid each and reinflate tyre for those size wheels on the car after removing cause of puncture usually with pincer pliers if in hurry or no spare wheel.
Great video! I did wonder why they used such big vans for roadside repair, they have loads! And seeing how the tow trailer works is pretty cool! I'm thinking of becoming a mechanic when I'm older. Maybe I could join the AA, looks pretty good...
So in the interests of the environment there's really no need to carry a spare wheel around for local daytime journeys you can carry a few aerosol cans of Tyre Weld to temporarily repair small punctures and reinflate tyre after removing the cause and if your covered they have a universal spare anyway.
Dont bother with them. Ive been a so-called Gold Member for several years. Only rang them twice, but guess what, "youre not covered" once because it was at home and you dont have "Home Start" and second because a fan belt broke whilst out, and I couldnt get through to them (A high volume of call excuse) and had a mate tow me home, but they would only come out for an extra £179, because I had managed to get home. DONT BOTHER WITH THEM !!!!!!

DO NOT go with the AA, they picked our vehicle up, put it on a truck to go home (2hrs) but then abandoned it half-hour up the road, at the side of the road. Then left it for two days, each time telling us it was being picked up in an hour or two, went on for 45 hours and the vehicle got smashed into, left somewhere we would never had left it. We got AA cover so a broken down vehicle was NOT left on a road. Now won’t take any responsibility for their negligence and liability. Beyond stressful and left us totally abandoned!!!
On the 14-06-2023 Thursday evening my car's alternator belt was half broken, join the RAC on emergency cost 280 pounds then waited almost 3 hours for a RAC petrol car , the technician just spent a couple minutes look at the car, no repair was attempted he just said he will send a tow truck in 20 minutes but after 2 and half hours I received a message saying that it could be another 5 or 6 hours wait so I rang the RAC to cancel the tow truck because I have been without water and food for almost 6 hours already and I didn't want to wait another 6 hours. The next day rang the RAC to cancel my membership but I was told they could only refund me 90 pounds for 2 days and 1 useless call-out membership and cancelling fee. Total scam, I was assured that ,I have 14 days to change my mind , do not use or join the RAC. Don't believe me watch TH-cam for the people that use RAC.
DO NOT JOIN THE AA, I SPENT 5 HRS ON THE SIDE OF THE MOTORWAY AT NIGHT WITH A BABY ON BOARD. ALL I GOT WAS 100 QUID COMPENSATION AND THEY NEVER SAID SORRY.
