So I recently got to play a preview build of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. For context, it was a remote session so I streamed the game in 1080p. I didn’t get to experience its full fidelity just yet, but the game did look beautiful nonetheless. I got to play parts of the Prologue and a section in the open world a couple of hours into the game. Overall, the early session got me excited for the full release. I can only show a small of amount of non-commentary gameplay, and I can’t show any of the Prologue, so I chose one of the missions I enjoyed so you guys can get a good look at the mission structure and of the combat. Combat hasn’t changed much and feels very much in the Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla vein. It’s bloody and deliciously brutal. It’s all about the timing parries and dodges, making it feel like a Soul-lite action combat. Yasuke is a tank, he can give and receive heavy damage. Naoe is fast and nimble, but weak and can die really easily if you decide to confront a big group. Doing missions stealthily with her feels like traditional Assassin’s Creed. It was very satisfying taking down an outpost, picking off guards one by one. She feels like the fastest Assassin we've ever had in the series Yasuke is the complete opposite. You can attempt stealth with him, but it works much better to just attack with brute force. Yasuke is much slower and is spotted much quicker. I got to experiment with a couple of different weapons including long katana, naginata, kanabo, bow, and rifle. The long Katana is the standard and my favorite to play with. I'm sure there will be situations where a kanabo is useful but just felt much too slow to use in most situations. Naoe has a different arsenal of weapons but didn't get to spend anytime with her outside of the prologue, although I did get to see her get the hidden blade. I enjoyed the combat overall, but it does feel largely the same from the previous iterations. That's not a complaint on my end as I enjoy the gameplay, but if you're looking for something new, this won't do it. The world design is wonderful and I feel what Ubisoft has always done best with the AC series. From the small slice I got, this will not disappoint if you're a fan who just like to explore the world of a particular time period Overall I'm excited for the full release. The prologue does a great job of setting up the stories for both Yasuke and Naoe. I got almost nothing of the modern story so I'm in the dark in that regard. If you have any questions, feel free to ask below!
Sounds like Naoe will be getting a lot of attention once the full game comes out. Between those getting their pants in a wad over a black samurai, and those who have griped about the gameplay changes that Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla brought, I’m willing to bet that she’s going to be a quick favorite among those who buy the game.
The combat looks like a worst version of Ghost of Tsushima...and why yasuke's kicks makes the enemies fly SO FAR, like OMFG it looks cartoony and like he has super powers lmao
This looks... bad. If this is the game which decides future of ubisoft then man... they're cooked. Wooden face animations, yasuke sending enemies in the air with a shoulder push, tons of unnecessary markers, enemies are like bullet sponges nothing more. It's like they dont't learn anything...
I’m soo tired of internet gaming community is absolutely toxic , bro mirage have some problems but for me was absolutely nice to play , perfect games will never exist, but all of you keep yaping every game release , games looks good , and I bet.. like most of the games, in one year you are here comment saying the game is underrated bla bla just enjoy the game men if you don’t like don’t buy it simple , nasty people

crazy how in 2014 a headshot used to kill enemies in AC3,blackflag till syndicate and how a headshot doesnt do much damage....yeah such reality ubisoft....they even know they are making a crap game with crap combat mechanics but the are just that arrogant to even care
I really liked Odyssey the most. I never could figure out how to make a build strong enough to one shot with the hidden blade in origins, but in Odyssey I could. I really think hidden blade or assassins should be able to one shot with the opening move.
Well, it still feels just like any standard Ubisoft game And most of the thing works OK, the last few months seem to pay off. But the combat and line delivery seems a bit off for me.
Ahh, Spartan kicking dudes into the air and using guns in broad daylight; definite return to assassin behavior. Dear lord KCD 2 is gonna eat Ubisoft’s lunch. 😂
So many things wrong with this game, bizarre and horrible ragdoll physic, terrible wood stiff animation, there's almost no stealth mechanic when Assassin Creed had stealth and even disguise mechanic like a real assassin, bullet sponge enemies, excessive markers that made you think they just let them cluttering all over the place. Wow, just wow. This is not Assassin Creed, this should be called Berserker instead of AC. Where is your Creed? You are no assassin! You're a berserker who kill anyone in your way and not even trying to be stealthy
Environtment is definitely stunning like your usual AC world, but good God thats an awful face expression... I remember Origins was way more expressive...
So far, it looks good. I understand the complaints about the gameplay. Assassin's Creed is known for its brutality, but the story is supposed to matter more.
I know if some will be toxic after what I'mma about to say is shut up I grew up playing assassin’s creed and no matter what assassin games they bring I’ll still love it and some people getting mad at Ubisoft cuz a black person is in there y’all need god I’ve thinking of this for a long time saying like if yasuke was in the assassin’s creed game it’s gonna be peak now shut up and let Ubisoft cook please
Idc about the Nay-sayers and all the Haters out there. Imma buy AC Shadows and try it for myself. It doesn’t matter if it reminds you of Ghost Of Tsushima it’s NOT the same game. Just sit back play the game and enjoy the show. Like it or not Ubisoft is a Team who works hard in producing these games so Respect that and give them a little credit ya know 💯👌🏽💪🏽💪🏽🤷🏽♂️🎮
The ideal mindset that ppl need. They listen way too much to literally anybody on Yt. And also don't believe the majority of Japanese hating the game rhetoric when it was topping lists of most anticipated game there.

You'll for sure get invited to future previews of Ubisoft games. 👍Keep working hard. 😊

This is the AC universe dude. It was never grounded.

I missed hidden blade being an automatic kill from stealth.
The old ac games are gone yall need to let that go
Immersion breaking story isn't what I'd call a "return to form" of Assassin's Creed games.
9:32 lol such equality
Origins had the best combat
But the shills are saying this game is a "return to form". Are they wrong?

i wasn't expecting much from this game.. but i also wasn't expecting so little.
Would replay Ghost of Tsushima from start to finish then play this game
Nope, it's a matter of principles.
First assassins creed game I don’t plan on buying
DashBlue channel going to have so much fun tearing through this preview 😂

I refuse to play as an african samurai that never existed anywhere in recorded Japanese history. Not a cent!!!

It would come out 2028-2029 if they started now. 😅
Worth like $5. Not a dime more.

They burned the food, there is nothing left to eat. The guests are hungry expect them to be grumpy. Can’t say it any simpler
You obviously didn't play AC 3, Liberty, Freedom Cry or Origins... Has nothing to do with black people. The game just looks like shit
