The two doublecars in the colour white at the start was an advertisement for metroland I remember as a young boy that they have been decouple and paired with other orange cars as they get serviced
On the last day of that holiday we were approaching the hadrian road metro to go into newcastle and i saw it leaving towards the coast, and then later that day when i was leaving newcastle with my mum & older brother to go back home (to the south) i saw it crossing the queen elizabeth II bridge lol. I was aged 9 back then and i remember it all so well!
Oh if only I could go back to 1980 and film on the metro from then up until it closes...that would be lovely! Again Simon this is a great masterpiece and I will again show this to Metro staff!
I remember seeing those yellow & maroon metro cars (shown at 6:48) back in 1989 at Haymarket! My Grandma used to live in Wallsend (near Hadrian Road metro station) so I used to go up there for holidays, and one afternoon during the summer of 1989 when we went into newcastle we took 'the long way round' via the coast (to haymarket) and when we got to haymarket i saw the maroon car on the opposite platform and i remember being really surprised about it at the time lol.
It looks like a film prop, perhaps for a TV advert or use at exhibitions - a very lucky bit of filming - I would not have known in advance that I was going to see or film it!

When I made this film TH-cam restricted films to being less than 10 minutes... happily nowadays this restriction has been lifted.

Yes, I think it was!
Possibly a promotional for the Metro system which was used at exhibitions, etc.
so integration - at least in terms of vehicle liveries - somehow survived beyond 1985?
0:06 is that what i think that is

I think it may have been the mock up for the Metrocar
Its the metro cab that used to do safety education at schools, number 4000. Now resident at the Stephenson Railway Museum, North Tyneside.
