Something I might point out is that it says 'Goldfish' rather than fish in the chorus. Which would work more with a theme of an something happening at a summer festival (which one of the outfits is that they wear), as one of the 'games' at festivals is 'scooping' goldfish.
Oh I think the thing behind the video is that a girl wanted to be friends with the other, while the other girl mocked envied and resented her. The other doesn't know the first's past and memories, and is being pressured into crushing the angelfish with her own hands, while the former is being told to scoop out the fish. Finally, the girl who wanted to befriend came to the other when she needed help, and they're besties now
Ok so this is my interpretation of the song(it could be totally wrong lol): So I think the black-haired girl is a trans girl and feels a lot of guilt for presenting as female because she believes she’s “tricking” the people around her into liking her and thinking she’s a pretty girl. The blonde girl doesn’t know she’s trans but reaches out to be her friend, originally because she was jealous of her femininity, but it eventually grew into a tight friendship. When the blonde girl finds out the black-haired girl is trans, her jealousy grows into resentment. She abandons her friend, and after a while the black-haired girl confronts her and then presumably commits suicide afterwards. The blonde girl is overcome with guilt and as she continues with her life develops depression which she always copes with through coffee, and is always stargazing and watching a star that reminds her of her friend’s beauty, but is slowly learning to move on. Yea this is a wild interpretation but it’s not like the song is explicit enough about its meaning for any one interpretation to be right or wrong lol😅
