Got to love Mr Adebajo. He’s astute, balanced and well rounded. Walking down the road to get to the studio on time speaks volume. What an absolute gentleman, no bigmanism or diva behaviour, doesn’t go by any chieftaincy title. You are a role model will listen to him anytime. Thank you for always educating someone like myself who wants to know a little about everything. God bless and keep you. Thanks also to Arise for less interruption. Mr Adebajo came prepared boy did he over deliver. Loved him even more when he said the 400k quota should be distributed to all modular refineries not just one. We Nigerians are smart, let’s not forget that.

I like Tilewa's analysis. He is very factual and sticks with data and to the issues.
Rufai, sometimes, like to poke some jokes. But it shouldn't be when serious issues are on the table for discussion.
Nigeria carries many sick assets such as the NNPC which need some surgical treatments to make them healthy again and able to generate value for the nation and its people.
Wish we could just get NNPC, Ajaokuta steel, and other major assets working optimally.
We have the human resources. Why is it so hard to get capable hands to run these enitities?

But I saw some people attacking Rufai for its constant interruptions and governement bashing. Thinking Thats misplaced. Hes doing is work. Would you be excited if he Rufai wasn't there? Rufai is an attraction. So we should leaen to accept the good side and the bad side.
On a good note Rifuai point is valid. A 3rd year good Bsc Accounting or finnace student can look at a balance sheet and advice what an organization should do. So suggestions and recommendations is not the problem. The problem is implementation, solutions and will. An area Rufai choses to hammer on.

Sometimes you see better when you are far from the problem. It's the reason why everyone who has promised good has never been able to deliver once they get into power/office. They see and experience the real problems once they are inside. However, this guest like many others should be consulted for their insights on issues plaguing several sectors of the Nigerian economy.

    • @DBM_DBM
      @DBM_DBM 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

The issue is clear. When someone ascends to a position of power, whether through election or appointment, they often bring with them a wealth of brilliant ideas and a genuine desire to make a positive impact. However, once in office, they quickly realize they are a lone voice in the wilderness. The system they enter is plagued by deep-rooted corruption and self-interest, where the vast majority of those they must work with-around 99%-are driven by greed and a desire to protect their own interests rather than the common good.
These individuals, who are supposed to be part of the team working towards national or institutional betterment, instead focus on frustrating the efforts of well-meaning leaders. When these leaders attempt to enforce accountability or discipline, those who are threatened by reform often resort to using the judiciary, which, more often than not, sides with the corrupt due to systemic flaws. The result is a situation where even the most capable and visionary leaders find themselves powerless, unable to implement their ideas, and ultimately, the cycle of dysfunction continues.
This is why many intelligent and well-intentioned individuals fail to make the impact they envisioned once they reach positions of power in Nigeria. The challenge isn't just about having the right ideas; it's about navigating and overcoming a deeply entrenched culture of corruption and self-interest that resists any change.

Now Wale Edun is the minister of finance, what as he achieved? You should not forget that Prof Soludo is a Prof of economics, and a former CBN gov and he achieved a little bit. Now that the financials are out, you can begin analysing the issues and look for solutions just like what the interviewee has done. Ok, you have now found the 1st and most important step to the situation, which is the problem and loopholes. 2nd step is also found which is the solution to the problems. The 3rd step now, is to take action to solve the problems.

Will they? The problem is never a shortage of skilled hands but failure to identify and recruit capable hands to run these SOEs. China has many state owned enterprises that are doing great because they have the right people in charge, and rules on accountability and consequences are well documented and implemented.
It just makes me sick when one sees the mess in the system even when you know there are available solutions to them.

I agreed. The 400,000 barrels can be sold to all local refineries in Naira at cost of production for refining, in doing so the government subsidy can be used to sell the fuel as low as N100 per liter or just enough to further recover the crude production cost, and the distribution cost, and some profit to the local refineries. This will hugely boost the economy. Because petrol is the one and only backbone of the Nigerian economy right now. All other solutions suggested can also be implemented. This is just the worst corporate management that ever lived reading from this balance sheet report.

Who is going to stop these local refineries from selling part of this Naira denominated 400,000 barrels outside the country in dollars? The temptation will be just too great. Another illegal bunkering problem in the making. Nobody is thinking about this right now. Our problem is creating solid Institutions in Nigeria that can enforce the law.

It a deliberate method that the nnpc not to fix the refinery,it is the crude oil that are supposed to feed the refineries are being diverted for the Malta private company, they must be put to book,if Nigerians look away from this co ordinated stealing,we will not get it a right, nobody is above the law, cried the beloved country.

The fact that you know the problem does not exempt you from the reality of the problem. There is a difference between acceptance of a problem in the direction of solution and a denial of said problem. Like my teacher once said, if you keep thinking you're wise, you will remain unwise. Accept that you're unwise, then seek to be wise.
