Chibi Reviews i mean i feel as if you are just being a little naive in believing everyone will think like you. Both izuku and gentle had legit reasons for winning and at the end we know more about izuku and why he is fighting and why it is important. Did you forget the little girl who just last arc was suffering and deserves some happiness and yet some how gentle deserves to win. Compared to my girl, gentle's reasoning is bitch made. I love gentle but deku had the better reasoning and stronger resolve and it was easy to see because he even on several occasions during the fight talks about why he is fighting. The little girl deserves to have one day of happiness and to be able to have friends after all she had been through and deku was fighting to give her that.
Not all men are created equal, this was true in the start of this series and it is true even now. This doesn't just mean in terms of physical abilities or intelligence or talent, this also relates to ones dreams and aspirations and even how much one adheres to those dreams and aspirations. Just because you really really want something doesn't mean that it will fall into your lap, hell even if you try really hard to get that thing to come true still doesn't mean it will happen. This is just a somewhat sad reality of this world and nothing we can really do anything about. Think about this, what if someone has a dream of killing a lot of people and one of those people have a dream of living. Both of these people can't realize their dreams. I gained some respect for Gentle in this chapter because he did understand the consequences of his actions and the realities of them actively harming other people and in this case people he cares about. He managed to show that he wasn't entirely selfish which is a good first step for him. Gentle is no hero, he is a well made character and while not a malicious person but he's not entirely good either.
That last panel looks so sad , it's like a father saying farewell to his daughter when he's caught by police for driving while being drunk or something like that
Horikoshi's skill as a writter is no joke. When I first saw Gentle and La Brava Ii couldn't take them seriously and alsodidn't care about them and her I am now feeling so sad because of this chapter and the fact that they failed.
CrankDatBartman This was not garbage lol. If he can make us care for these silly looking ass characters in like 10 chapters, that's called good writing. They don't need tragic backstories for us to like em.
Thing with Stain though is he ain't exactly relatable. Stain was less a Villain to sympathize with and more a mix of "Villain whose ideals are actually kinda right", and "Villain who makes Hero question their own ideals." Gentle showed there can be Villains who aren't bad, while Stain showed us how some Heroes aren't like All Might, and just want fame and money. His impact was more "Only true Heroes should exist", while Gentle is "Not all of us want to burn the world or save it. Some of us just want to be remembered."
+Dan Song Stain is relate-able to people who would be fed up with a current system and take matters in their own hands. Basically extremist. His methods again, questionable but intentions are something one can side with
RaginDXDemon But that's not relating to a character. That's just you understanding his point of view. Unless of course you yourself are an extremist or someone who often takes the law into their own hands you can't really relate to him. And even if you are the number of people who can really relate to stain are insignificant compared to the number of people who can relate to a person like gentle
Chibi Reviews you know chibi, you think the Author will continue using this cause it really rare to find Victory is tasteless to the Victor while Defeat shall taste sweet to the Defeater in mange or anime in general,it pretty awesome honestly
Chibi Reviews to that i agree through this victory izuku will know it is actually a defeat and take lesson from it,knowing him,he will take it to heart and soul.Izuku understand Gentle feeling far greater then anyone else and quite literally ad well
-nighteye : that madness inside all might's head.. he has it too -gentle : what madness ! We shouldn't get involved with him ! -izuku :*litteraly uses broken fingers and arms to fight a hulk looking dude* -fanbase : madman izuku did it again ! bruh he should become the symbol of madness or i'll be upset lol
the question of "who should've won" is ultimately "who do you want to be happy? " "Eri or Labrava?" I feel that izuku should have and did win not just because of his power level at this point But because ultimately Eri would've been damaged more psychologically because a person trying to be saved slowly starts to learn to be saved then her savior gets crushed she will believe that she's at fault even if she's not and she will revert back into her pre-izuku personality
heroes don't always win because there is always someone that has to lose and when both parties are heroes a hero has to lose (also nobody wins a hundred percent of the time even all might)
Boku no hero academia chapter 180: Deku gets the W, while Gentle gonna get those cheeks clapped in jail 1. Really liked this chapter, made me respect Gentle even more man. Deku had to crush someone else's dream so that he could protect everyone at U.A and help get those mental shackles off of Eri. Gentle sacrificed his dreams and desires of reaching TH-cam stardom by infiltrating the U.A, for the sake of protecting La Brava. I honestly rooting for Gentle in this chapter, even if I knew Deku would win, I just wanted Gentle to send Deku away like he did on the last page and retreat with La Brava earlier. I still have hope that Gentlr and La Brava will come back in a future arc, possibly help out Deku and become heroes in the process. Their crimes can't be that bad, still crimes though so I'm wondering if the heroes will even give them a chance unless Deku speaks on their behalf or they try to recruit La Brava after she lets her quirk get discovered, only for her to say she's not going anywhere without Gentle. But now I can see her trying to break him out of jail before he drops the soap and this big mothafucka named Joe, won't be so gentle with him. He'll make Donovan jealous with how hard he thrusts. 2. That St. Louis Smash though. Deku kicked the fucking Crest toothpaste out of his teeth. I think Deku gonna have it worse though, how is he gonna make Eri smile when he's coming in the festival and can be compared to nothing except an abused console controller. It's even worse for the last gen, remember when the dam analog stick pads would just fucking peel off after so many years of abuse. I still have a ps3, the dam L2 and R2 buttons get stuck when I press, the the analog stick won't even let me run when I play COD: BO1. Deku is that controller, the one you just want to throw away but can't because either you.don't want to buy another one or you've just gotten so used to the shitty one you currently have. Honestly, when I see Deku's face with those freckles on it, along with the blood, all I see is pepperoni and the shit makes me crave Pizza Hut. The kick somehow also reminded me of the kick Levi gave to Eren in the courtroom, except that form for it was smoother than Deku's, but you can make the excuse that it was because Gentle wasn't rendered immobile during this kick like Eren was. Deku kicked with brute strength while Levi kicked with straight swag and hit one of the most suspect poses in anime history, have Levi somehow replace Deku for the background dancing, shit you're already having a Avengers: Infinity War and Boku no Hero Academia crossover, add Shingeki no Kyojin to that list and see how it goes. Deku won't ever get credit since there aren't any spectators and he ain't that famous yet, won't even get credit for smashing a chick from his boys even if they film the shit. 3. Ok La Brava, you succeeded in making me sad this chapter. More than that woman who asked All Might for help did, I'll tell you that much. I was hoping that you actually would be able to infiltrate U.A. with that Dell laptop, but nope instead the guards were of course standing right outside of the building. So La Brava and Gentle can't pass off as heroes, but this evil satanic villainous looking mothafucka Ectoplasm can? He looks like a perfect candidate to side with the villains, just make him fucking goth and he'll fit right in, have him wear all black like Rintarou, Okabe as if it were a funeral every day, especially that trench coat which is the only thing he could make black honestly. Have him do what Roman Reigns isn't allowed to do and turn him heel, and yes I'm a wrestling fan and I know it's fake, have him just randomly go up to students and bitch slap them for looking at him funny. He'll be that teacher in your school that always told you all that you'll leave on their time and not when the bell ring, make you wait in a single file line and shit even though they know you got less than five minutes to get to your next class and have to walk through that crowded ass hallway. La Brava ran back to plead with Deku to let him go, which he wouldn't have done anyway since at the end of the day he's a hero and they can't let villains escape. La Brava is a real one, the type of partner everybody needs, the type that says fuck everyone else and that you're the only one they care about( hopefully other than their family and friends, if not then don't ever think about betraying them or else they'll kill your ass), the type that does stuff for you because they want to and not because you asked them to. I was waiting till we got a confirmed age, but La Brava might be bae for that extreme loyalty. I don't care if she does look like a powerpuff girl, I'll still give her an extra dose of chemical X and pray it turns her into Ms. Bellum. 4. Dam that last panel was sad. I forgot who commented it, but Gentle really did look like a man who had to say goodbye to his daughter after being arrested for a DUI or something else. Now that I think about it, it's not all that bad honestly. La Brava can possibly visit Gentle in prison, she won't have anything to film and could quite possibly go the heroine route since she has nothing to do and is basically lost without Gentle. Or she can just do what I said earlier and somehow break him out of prison, then Tomura can take notice and actually recruit these two I guess, but I'd rather them go the hero route. Either way La Brava can still be happy as long as she's around Gentle and his ringmaster attire she's grown so fond of, Eri on the other hand is an entirely different story. This chapter was really more about who you wanted to see happy more: Eri or La Brava, I pick Eri because those scars will be there for her probably for her entire life and it's sad. At least Gentle will be released from prison if he serves his time, those wounds for Eri will never heal and it may be a very long time until she's genuinely happy, and I can't even begin to imagine how long it would take for her to get out of that psychological trap that Chisaki/Overhaul still has her in. She has to get out and live a normal life finally after being basically captive for her entire life up until now, meanwhile La Brava is already happy with her standing in life alongside Gentle. I'm done, if it's too long and you didn't read, you may as well not even comment on this since that takes your time as well.
King Of Ls "cheeks clapped in jail" 😂😂. Due to his quirk, if he drops the soap, he can easily make it bounce right back up into his hand and turn the water into a condom
for real thou i got pissed when deku didn't get acknowladged after beating overhaule he better get acknowladge now for protecting UA my boi better be on the news next day
gentle was still going to harme UA and it's students in their day of joy....why wouldn't he deserve that?? i know we got to know his backstory and got attached to his character but that doesn't excuse the bad deeds he was about to make...even thought he's gentle he's still criminal
C Vox Unless Gentle pulls out a card "Don't go wrong like me, wait for me", I think it's possible. I JUST WANT TWO OF THEM WORKING A NORMAL JOB AND SMILE TOGETHER, GAAAAH
Ladies and gentlemen, our _MADMAN!_ finally got his first victory without incurring any self damage and he did this _alone_ in a 1v2 situation. Even the power up didn't really help gentle which is insane btw. _so I guess gentle's loved up form is equal to 8% deku?_
Chibi Reviews I don't think he used 20% full cowl at all, it causes him immense pain when he uses it plus he'd have said so if it was 20%. 8% is his max without incurring *any* damage.
He definitely is passed 8% now... maybe not 20%, but if that is him straining himself it means he can get up to there without the pain. So it's somewhere between 10 and 20 at least.
Damn I was rooting for Gentle this whole time. Hori has that effect on his readers. Making me dislike the good guys lol! GREAT WRITING! Also tonight PRAISE THE SUN WITH ME IF YOU WATCH RAWS OF TAIZAI ☀️☀️☀️
Let’s be real here majority of people that say this arc is boring or bad are just action heads and they don’t really care about the concept of the story They rather just see mad man izuku breaking him self the whole time .. 😴 even though we got some great action in this arc ...you put in like 2 slice of life chapters just focusing on the characters and people start to loose their shit ... if you want action 24/7 with little story go watch DBZ 😴 no offence 🤷🏾♂️
your opinion is a valid one but im more aiming at the people that complain at the begining of every arc when the chapters are slow people automatically start complaining thats what im referencing too but i do agree with you but out all the shounen ive seen atleast this one actually tries to include every character it tries atleast and i think in the future we will get that because the writer has shown that hes doesnt always gonna dick ride the main 2 chacacters and he gradually builds up the cast im not trying to do damge control for this series but i will defend it when i see it being bashed unfairly thank you for showing me your perspective.
theres nothing wrong with your first impressions but some people were just jumping the gun so quick like a good story has to be fleshed out it cant just be bang bang bang bang "SMASHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" but i had the same impression you had but we just need to trust the writer to come with that fire!!!!
Man this was probably my fav deku fight in the series. Action wise and emotionally. And gentle pretty much rivals stain for me. Love him so much. Having a loli is just the cherry on top
I'm kinda sad that Gentle is already done. I really liked his character and want more lol.. Good job on Izuku for the win though. Also: Does anyone else feel like the VA's for Okabe and Mayuri in the Steins;Gate dub could do a great job for Gentle and La Brava in the MHA dub?
I just want to know why Gentle wanted to go inside U.A. festival, maybe just a video called "I sneak into U.A and enjoy the festival while no one notices it", i don't think that he will go and attack people, just go around eating, playing. And maybe he is just doing it for La Brava's sake, to make her enjoy the festival, since she dropped high-school and couldn't enjoy her HS festival.
Basil Koon In this case, he wanted to be known as a man infamous for managing to break in U.A. , a school known for its tough security, which is also famous for being the breeding grounds of new hero generations. This would certainly gain him attention, hence assisting in his dream of being remembered by people. His intentions weren't bad, but unfortunately it is still a crime for trespassing and potentially cancelling an entire festival.
People said the best villain is the hero of their own story, not only did Gentle sacrifice himself to save La Brava, but also gives Izuku compliment and respect which he deserves. Not to mention in that last panel, the "heroes" looks so evil and intimidating, this is just some solid great writing.
Lots of people keep mentioning how Izuku needs to get credit this time around. I agree he should've had credit for Overhaul, but if he gets credit this time, it'll look bad for UA. UA will probably want to cover this up so they don't get criticized by the media.
thefirefridge RIGHT? The media will tear them apart if they find out that the only reason Deku managed to stop gentle is due to Pure Luck And by that I mean the luck that came with running into him
TahtGuy I disagree. Even though they stopped the event, the fact that there was a breach of security still would imply that they should call off the festival. Think about it this way. If people on a plane discovered a bomb, but managed to disarm it, I'm pretty sure they would still land the plane as quickly as possible and not at the destination because security has been compromised, and thus all efforts need to be focused on other potential breaches of security. I know, it's a stretch, but honestly the media has been looking for ways to go after U.A. this entire series (the event at USJ, the Bakugo kidnap, etc.) and the government warned U.A. not to have the festival so the media would have the government on their side too.
People are expecting bigger stakes and bigger battles. That's the way how shonen works. When something like this....."small" comes into play.....something that isn't world-ending or even death-causing, people would disregard this arc as part of a story or they'd classify it as filler. We don't always need the biggest and best fights to tell a story. As long as it means something on a personal level, that I can be satisfied with. A battle does not tell a story, a story tells the battle.
This chapter had me so torn. Poor La Brava gonna join the league of villains and become more of a criminal. Which is exactly what Gentle didn’t want for her.
Alex Kong Let's be mature about this. We got to acknowledge the fact that just because someone doesn't like something we do it doesn't give us the right to belittle them
The Otaku Dragon Slayer I just wonder why people wouldn’t like an arc like this Sure I thought overhaul arc was slow but it have many cool parts This chapter left me so broken and conflicted because I was rooting for a villain that wanted to take away Eri’s smile for his dream My heart just can’t I just really only wonder why ppl hate it
TBH if anyone won it would be a lose for anyone. If Gentle won, everyone in UA would would be getting attacked and hurting the students and teachers. Since Izuku won he stopped Gentle but almost crushed la brava's heart.Gentle realized that he hurt la brava's indirectly.
Out of all anime youtubers you stand out the most to me for uploading consistent quality videos every single day about Anime,Manga and more. I keep coming back to your channel to see what's new. I look forward for this channel to reach 500k and more. Hope you have a great day as always Chibi the Dwarf! Greetings from Philippines!
i guess people are expecting bigger villains who can summon giant beasts, call forth meteors and split the continents...then we find out that deku was all along the chosen one who has within him the ultimate super ultra hero jesus mode. i don't know about y'all, but i like this arc. it is scaled down from the overhaul and AFO arc, but i think this is a needed breather with just enough action to keep us entertained. plus I really believe that Gentle is going to have a lingering impact on Deku and UA kinda like Stain and his ideology. But that still remains to be seen. I think this fight is short because the aftermath will have more significance. We will see next chapter. :D
Fun Fact: According to Horikoshi, Jirou's Quirk was technically the first he came up with. Apparently it came to him while he was commuting home from work with earphones, and he wasn't even thinking about writing BnHA at the time!
I wanted Izuku to win and I'm glad he did. Hopefully he gets the credit he deserves some way or another. The kid has come a long way. That St. Louis Smash to the face was badass. As for Gentle and La Brava, They may be sympathetic to a certain degree but they're still criminals who had what was coming to them. Trying to invade what is basically Academia's equivalent of a military school is just a stupid idea period. Eri's happiness and UA's reputation is much more important than Gentle's narcissistic desire to become famous. Ultimately, Izuku was in the right.
I really do hope Deku comes in and tries to save both Gentle and La Brava from their punishment, maybe give him an alternative, a way to reconcile with his past and start a new one in UA. I think that would be fitting for his character.
Wrong. Izuku didnt destroy anyone's dream. He didnt destroy their life. Think of it as a competition. There will be winners and losers. That doesnt mean the winner destroyed the losers dream. Gentle was consumed by his hate, allowed the dark side to consume him. He could have been a light to the world by other means. If he couldnt hack it as a hero, he could have done the next best thing. Become a teacher and inspire others, others who have the potential to be a hero.
Hell, Gentle Criminal several times acknowledges he and Deku are kinda on that same level of "we gotta fight each other to protect each other's dreams". He respects Deku in some basic manner, and knows when to give up the fight,
Dizzy Doom I get that. What im trying to point out is that Deku didnt destroy Gentle's life. Gentle did that himself, when he allowed all the negative things in his life to turn him to the dark side. Midoriya was faced with those very same adversities and more, since he was originally quirkless, but he never lost his heroic spirit. It's what made All Might give his power to Deku. He is achieving his dream. Others who didnt pass the hero license exam can choose to help other people by becoming an officer of the law or rescue people by becoming doctors. But if they let their failures determine what their limits are, and be consumed by envy and eventually hate, that is their fault.
"The thought of you forgetting me. Is like my heart is being ripped in two" Like another commenter said. Some people just want to be remembered. Sad when they have to go for evil to achieve their dreams. In its foundation it is a bit selfish. Just depends what the reason you want to be remembered for is...
character wise, yeah probably, but world building wise horikoshi isn't on that level, at least not yet, but the series isn't even 200 chapters so let's give him some time
micah white Better not let one piece Fanboys see you commenting stuff like that. I got a shitstorm of hate simply for hoping Deku starts focusing on kicks like Sanji does lol
I been following this serie sense it first time came out in Japan, and fell for that right away. I did even meet Horikoshi for a sign while I was there Japan and through when it got it's big new about the Anime. And It's insane how people say such things about this Arc, but from y perspective I'm more surprised how Horikoshi have improved so much and have such talent sense the beginning of this serie. I really love "My Hero Academia" and can't also wait till the years when this Arc gets animated.
I'm seeing alot of people wondering what the point of this confrontation was, and I believe it is this: to allow Izuku to realize the importance of considering not just the people who have supported him on his journey to becoming the greatest hero, but also the people he has and will have to step on to reach that goal.
I like how Horikoshi intentionally goes against the cliche's of other shounen maga. This chapter, for me, was the epitome of that ability of Horikoshi.
When La Brava told Izuku " He even forgot to have his precious tea breaks planning for it!" to get him to let go of Gentle, it kinda broke something within me, but I can't really say exactly why. La Brava is so pure and precious. Part of me sees the opportunity to turn her into a real heart-wrenchingly tragic character that would elevate the story to a whole other level, but another part just wishes that no harm befalls her, ever. Shit, this is really sad.I need to hear Bakugo threatening to murder someone again.
Deku winning without absolutely destroying his body FUCK YES ! But it's at the cost of Gentle and La Brava's happiness NO. FUCK. CAN WE JUST... Also Deku talking about how his dream is no longer his own started to make me tear up a bit. It seems that Deku started out wanting to be a hero like All Might, but has now transitioned to a hero that wants to show people a brighter future.
I kinda hoped for Izuku to take both Gentle and her partner away from the pro-hero and let them go, warning La Brava that next time they won't get away with it..
Pipehiguita Yup (as far as unofficial translations goes). Then it continues: 🎶Time to pay for all of my mistakes/ That I made without an ounce of shame/ I moved on and threw my life away./ Thank God I got out while I could/ I nearly gave it all away to an unknown and empty fate. That's about the first 20 seconds.
I ❤️ Gentle and La Brava I 😭 when reading this chapter I was rotting for them and just want 2 say Horikoshi is proving again why this is one of my favorite manga this was just a brilliant chapter
This was such a sad chapter.Btw I really love the simple yet creative ways that horikoshi draws midoriya’s attacks He had him form a fist to flick all 4 of his fingers to simultaneously fire off 4 air bullets at once. Normally that wouldn’t be seen as a big deal but after knowing the mechanics of his quirk small intricacies like that makes moves like those look so cool. Deku is so resourceful when it comes to using his fingers. You can definitely tell horikoshi loves drawing hands with the sheer amount of attention he puts.
gentle was a good sport about it though he is a good person actually alot of people we meet in my hero are similar to izuku in that they are heroic but they dont have the power to help others or the situation to and i feel thats horikoshi's social commentary on "he who deserves power is always different from those who has it" izuku is an exception
what I REALLY hate about it isthat gentle lost so quickly. I mean, how many chapters was this fight? like, 3 chapters? and ever since gentle appeared, how much has it been, 10 chapters? I am amazed at how well horikoshi made gentle in only 10 chapters, but seriously now? we need MORE! gentle is such an amazing character, but his arc ended so soon, too soon, and if he is now going to go to jail, and we are not going to see him for a LONG time, like with stain, then seriously, I would be truly disapointed. and honestly, I have no idea where it is going to go from here. would gentle escape? would he be thrown into jail? I have seen a comment at kissmanga that said that maybe, because of that his crimes weren't THAT severe, he might become a teacher at UA, as some criminals, instead of going to jail, are apointed with social service. but even if that would be the case, I am not sure if it would be a good ending for this arc.
AlphaOmegaNanite Master most of the fanbase understands why Gentle is an amazing character. But can they understand what makes Cinnamon Toast Crunch so good?
Yeah Gentle is a good character and all, but Eri was deconstructed and reconstructed by Overhaul. Gentle can take this L, Deku had every right to crush his dreams.
You saying Deku won because he's the main character is really selling him short. Deku beat Gentle fair and square, without overexerting himself like with Muscular and without outside help like with Overhaul.
Alright, alright. You got me. I finally subscribed to you after 40+ reviews. Damn, it's really effective to say it after every review. Ad I liked the whole Arc a lot. I would say we will get one chapter of the aftermath for Gentle and La Braver and two chapters for the Festival itself.
To be honest, this arc is okay or meh for me. Didn't really seem that interesting, and it just feels like an optional side quest, even after this chapter. But i like one of the rewards from the quest, and that is Gentle. For someone who suddenly came out of nowhere, he is a great antagonist.
I think you misconstrued the message of this chapter. This wasn't as one sided as you think. Both Gentle and Izuku had a reason to fight that was beyond themselves. They were both right, not just Gentle. And I think Izuku will try and help Gentle.
Power and strength, it’s the only thing what maters in a fight in MHA. Just look at Bakago, he is the oppisite of what pepole think of as a hero but he still did win the tournement. Beacuse the was the most powerful student (probaly behind Todoroki but due to not wanting to use his fore side he lost). The same thing can be said about all the quirk less pepole who want to become heroes but can’t due to not having a quirk in other words nor powerful enough to become heroes. And even pepole what does have a quirk is sometimes denied to become a hero, beacuse thier quirk isn’t powerful enough to meet the hero standards or just to useless for anything in general.
Li'o the noob of everything wtf didn’t this fight teach you that power and strength isn’t the only thing that matters in a fight. The amount of strategy in this fight was high
#Question Hey Chibi, when the prison break happens and the villains run rampant and start attacking/killing heroes do you think that Stain would team up with the heroes to stop them? He is an anti-hero, yes, but he's NOT a villain. Do you think that he'd team up with the heroes if Izuku asks him to?
la brava needs some serious psychological help tho, its one thing to love someone alot, its another to be so obsessed to the point where u think u could die without them :/
Im actually mad right now. Not that the chapter was bad (probably my favorite chapter of the series), but I really liked Gentle. I hope he doesn't just disappears forever. I want him and La Brava to stay in the series. This is my favorite arc in the series. The other arcs where great, but this arc is something else.
Gentle didn't deserve this. I feel like Deku was a bad guy rather than a good guy after reading these latest chapters. This is how heroes fall to a dark path.
Gentle is a criminal. Just because his intentions are noble doesn't mean the heroes shouldn't do their job and stop them. THIS is how heroes fall to a dark path.
Great review for a great chapter thanks chibi! Also isnt it amazing how 2 of the biggest shonens (one piece and mha) both had fights that came down to both parties respecting each other!?!? Luffy vs katakuri and deku vs gentle are such different fights from each other but at the end of the day both ended with respect and showed off why these two are standouts for SJ. Great year so far in terms of quality manga fights.
When you mentioned how Izuku is gonna crush the dreams of others trying to become number 1, it made me think of Endeavor how crazy it drove him that he could never achieve that title with his own power
I think the part that really got to me was when la brava said “where’s the bright future in this” because it make me realize that for as noble as Deku’s is, not everyone will see him as such. He will be the villain in some people’s stories. When those people are like Overhaul that’s okay, but when they are not, well then he just becomes a permanent douche in the eyes of people like la Brava.
Watch Izuku get the credit for taking down Gentle....... when he hasn't gotten credit for the other villains
That's a messed up social media we have in MHA's world.
But seriously that St. Louis smash though
Chibi Reviews Didn't he get credit for beating Overhaul?
Chibi Reviews i mean i feel as if you are just being a little naive in believing everyone will think like you. Frankie Jr yeah
Yep the beginning of the series even states that. Its crazy how it still remains true
Dr foto I completely agree. I like it because Gentle is a villain but actually had a more hero like personality and morals than some actual heroes.
He is the true statement of lawful evil.
Dr foto I guess you could say it’s the recurring theme.
That last panel looks so sad , it's like a father saying farewell to his daughter when he's caught by police for driving while being drunk or something like that
He's basically saying goodbye my love.... fuck its sad
Except Gentle is a respectable man that we like, unlike drunk drivers.
it's more like a dad surrendering to police after being caught stealing food to feed his family.
It reminds me of Deadshot's scene in Suicide Squad when he's getting arrested and his daughter is hugging him, saying that she loves him.
yasser montasser “for driving while being drunk or something like that” hahahaahaa I’M dead 💀💀💀💀
Haters: This arc sucks!
Iida: *BOI*
Accurate
Grizmark yea the arc was decent.
The musical stuff was cringy tf? I love those moments of MHA. Afterall they are still in highschool
In my honest opinion this arc sucks
Cobra
Agreed
It's nice to be reminded that these are actual human beings who exist for more than just fighting crime.
Horikoshi's skill as a writter is no joke. When I first saw Gentle and La Brava Ii couldn't take them seriously and alsodidn't care about them and her I am now feeling so sad because of this chapter and the fact that they failed.
Phan Boy you don't know what good writing is
Lmao this was garbage
CrankDatBartman This was not garbage lol. If he can make us care for these silly looking ass characters in like 10 chapters, that's called good writing. They don't need tragic backstories for us to like em.
CrankDatBartman At least explain how this was badly written in detail? Otherwise get a life and stop disagreeing for no reason for attention.
CrankDatBartman Why was it garbage?
horikoshis skill

HOW IS THIS A BAD ARC!?
For once, we get a Villain we can sympathize with! AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT?
You're God damn right
Stain. Although he killed his critique on the current system of heros and how "watered down" its become can be applied to real life.
His methods again, questionable but intentions are something one can side with
RaginDXDemon
But that's not relating to a character. That's just you understanding his point of view. Unless of course you yourself are an extremist or someone who often takes the law into their own hands you can't really relate to him. And even if you are the number of people who can really relate to stain are insignificant compared to the number of people who can relate to a person like gentle
Like a wise person once said "there time where Victory is Defeat and Defeat is Victory, when the time comes by then you shall see the truth in my word"
Exactly!
Chibi Reviews you know chibi, you think the Author will continue using this cause it really rare to find Victory is tasteless to the Victor while Defeat shall taste sweet to the Defeater in mange or anime in general,it pretty awesome honestly
I really hope Izuku reflects on his win here
Chibi Reviews Deku always gets something out of his fights. No doubt he’ll learn from this one.
Chibi Reviews to that i agree through this victory izuku will know it is actually a defeat and take lesson from it,knowing him,he will take it to heart and soul.Izuku understand Gentle feeling far greater then anyone else and quite literally ad well
The parallel !!! Gentle didn't want la brava to turn into shigaraki !!
Yup...
Gentle's my favorite Academia villain thus far.
Yep! Mine too
Chibi Reviews
I already felt it but this conclusion set it in stone.
Brandon Adrien can't really call him a villain after this
My second favorite after Twice ;D
Top 5 favorite characters for me
Welp deku isn't gonna get any credit for his actions *AGAIN!* Though I guess that's what it means to be a hero, stain would be proud.
That makes me wonder if anyone is going to question why Gentle is covered with cuts and bruises
He said that they tripped on a pebble.
Remember those words "stain would be proud"
Didn't he get credit for Overhaul?
Rodmar nope, he didn't.
i swear there's no arc that disappointed me in this series , even the weakest arcs i can't give them something lower than 7/10
Same bro same
yasser montasser in
provisional license was just ok for me
License exam was nice until Toga reveal and I was just like oh snap YES
yasser montasser What was the weakest one?
what if deku become known as a symbole of madness instade of justice and hope
cuz his madness isn't subtle to the people anymore lol
That would be a twist
C Vox That'd be interesting because everyone keeps commenting on how crazy Deku is.
But then we'd get the ending to Soul Eater, where bravery is just like madness, since it's something everyone has.
#MADMANIZUKU!!!!
-nighteye : that madness inside all might's head.. he has it too
-gentle : what madness ! We shouldn't get involved with him !
-izuku :*litteraly uses broken fingers and arms to fight a hulk looking dude*
-fanbase : madman izuku did it again !
bruh he should become the symbol of madness or i'll be upset lol
the question of
"who should've won"
is ultimately
"who do you want to be happy? "
"Eri or Labrava?"
I feel that izuku should have and did win
not just because of his power level at this point
But because ultimately Eri would've been damaged more psychologically because a person trying to be saved slowly starts to learn to be saved then her savior gets crushed she will believe that she's at fault even if she's not and she will revert back into
her pre-izuku personality
But La Brava might kill herself....
well it isnt a conflicting chapter for nothing if what i said couldve solved it
i think i said eri just because we're more invested in her
there is no right answer here and like my hero shows us heroism is never black and white
heroes don't always win because there is always someone that has to lose
and when both parties are heroes a hero has to lose
(also nobody wins a hundred percent of the time even all might)
Chibi Reviews So will Eri. She may even have a fate worse than death.
Boku no hero academia chapter 180: Deku gets the W, while Gentle gonna get those cheeks clapped in jail
Due to his quirk, if he drops the soap, he can easily make it bounce right back up into his hand and turn the water into a condom
dredvax Oh god why would he turn the water into a condom though lol
King Of Ls might as well get some form of protection and make it a sanitary one at that XD
dredvax That water condom can't hold forever though if he takes too much damage lol
I don't know how to respond to the "cheeks clapped in jail"
for real thou i got pissed when deku didn't get acknowladged after beating overhaule
he better get acknowladge now for protecting UA
my boi better be on the news next day
So you're saying you want him to get Credit against a person that shouldn't be made public? Gentle doesn't deserve that imo
gentle was still going to harme UA and it's students in their day of joy....why wouldn't he deserve that??
i know we got to know his backstory and got attached to his character but that doesn't excuse the bad deeds he was about to make...even thought he's gentle he's still criminal
C Vox I just hope La Brava isn't going to turn away into darkness man...
cestalia
going the harley route will be a great twise
a crazy villain who only want too kill deku lol
C Vox Unless Gentle pulls out a card "Don't go wrong like me, wait for me", I think it's possible.
I JUST WANT TWO OF THEM WORKING A NORMAL JOB AND SMILE TOGETHER, GAAAAH
in the beginning of the arc i hated it, I thought it was going to be boring but now this is one of my favorite arcs
Same
My first opinion was
La brava's art doesnt fit the series.. or design
It was good but kinda boring as well
Scary Hayek I was the same. I didn't care in the begining and now I love it.
I unconsciously cheerd for gentle to win when I read this chapter
Damn I love gentles character
Was cheering too
Belakus me too
Big same
Still Gentle is a bad influence...
I should be so proud that Izuku has progressed so far in power, skill, and determination, but instead Hori has me shedding tears for the Villain
EXACTLY!!!
La Brava made this chapter sad to read.
It really did
Ladies and gentlemen, our _MADMAN!_ finally got his first victory without incurring any self damage and he did this _alone_ in a 1v2 situation. Even the power up didn't really help gentle which is insane btw.
_so I guess gentle's loved up form is equal to 8% deku?_
20% Deku
Chibi Reviews I don't think he used 20% full cowl at all, it causes him immense pain when he uses it plus he'd have said so if it was 20%. 8% is his max without incurring *any* damage.
He was using at least 15% for his finger flicks and probably more than 8% to hold that steel beam up.
He definitely is passed 8% now... maybe not 20%, but if that is him straining himself it means he can get up to there without the pain. So it's somewhere between 10 and 20 at least.
Kitkat915e yeah the flicks are 15% at the tip of his fingers & it's possible that he used above 8% to lift the steel beam but generally he used 8%.
I'm ready Escanor
Chibi Reviews Chibi the day has finally come! Its going down!
Lord Escanor
I know it's 2018 but I gotta admit... Izuku hit that dab clean af on that St. Louis Smash. He's learned well from Iida.
Brandon Adrien he the dab daddy
Brandon Adrien i see you are also a man of culture.
You know it is a great chapter when Chibi releases a video early!!!! 😁😁
You know it bb
Wait. Jailbreak arc?! That would be so great! Return of All for One and Stain! Hype
I was just thinking about this happening. lol
Jail break arc is still too early to happen.I think it wont happen till their 3rd years
and overhaul
Chakra Darrat the dude get his arms rip right off, unless some body can make them grown back, i don't see him coming back...
eri, or he coould find a way to overhaul himself back to with arms
Let’s be real here majority of people that say this arc is boring or bad are just action heads and they don’t really care about the concept of the story They rather just see mad man izuku breaking him self the whole time .. 😴 even though we got some great action in this arc ...you put in like 2 slice of life chapters just focusing on the characters and people start to loose their shit ... if you want action 24/7 with little story go watch DBZ 😴 no offence 🤷🏾♂️
ThatkidDecca You clearly dont know Dbz. That classification fits wack ass Super
RaginDXDemon yup because people know DBZ for it’s overwhelming complex story not saying mha is a master piece though 😴
your opinion is a valid one but im more aiming at the people that complain at the begining of every arc when the chapters are slow people automatically start complaining thats what im referencing too but i do agree with you but out all the shounen ive seen atleast this one actually tries to include every character it tries atleast and i think in the future we will get that because the writer has shown that hes doesnt always gonna dick ride the main 2 chacacters and he gradually builds up the cast im not trying to do damge control for this series but i will defend it when i see it being bashed unfairly thank you for showing me your perspective.
theres nothing wrong with your first impressions but some people were just jumping the gun so quick like a good story has to be fleshed out it cant just be bang bang bang bang "SMASHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" but i had the same impression you had but we just need to trust the writer to come with that fire!!!!
Deshawn I cant wrap around my head how people can dislike this arc yet again i might be biased because this is my favorite fucking arc
Man this was probably my fav deku fight in the series. Action wise and emotionally. And gentle pretty much rivals stain for me. Love him so much. Having a loli is just the cherry on top
You'll love him more than Stain once you finish my video
Chibi Reviews chibi calling me out 👀
Jewell she's small and such a cute. That's all i need 😤
nah gentle isnt special at all. and lolis are dumb
gentle is lame .stain is not
This arc is called the TH-cam arc!!
Hispanic Girls Twerking tuturuuu!
would be awesome , especially the dub voice for okabe in the dub , it would fit gentle so much
i also think levi's VA would make a good overhaul
Imagine Dio's VA as Gentle....
Chibi Reviews I'd like Kotomine's voice actor
Hispanic Girls Twerking
Let's be honest that jailbreak arc is going to fix this with ease
UA will probably want to cover this up so they don't get criticized by the media.
thefirefridge
RIGHT?
The media will tear them apart if they find out that the only reason Deku managed to stop gentle is due to Pure Luck
And by that I mean the luck that came with running into him
TahtGuy I disagree. I know, it's a stretch, but honestly the media has been looking for ways to go after U.A. this entire series (the event at USJ, the Bakugo kidnap, etc.) and the government warned U.A. not to have the festival so the media would have the government on their side too.
thefirefridge
Frustrating but true
But that St. Louis smash though
GokuForHire SOOON I I thought of rock lee for some weird reason. Lol
artwork has been on point
daniel diaz
Well technically deku's basically what would happen if a rock Lee was the main protagonist
Raymond Yongho don't think that will happen, her quirk is useless unless it's for gentle. League won't have any use for her
Then why teach and show a child villainous act in the first place? He just make the child miserable..
“This arc is not a good arc”
Absence of brain cells noted
Alex Kong
Let's be mature about this. We got to acknowledge the fact that just because someone doesn't like something we do it doesn't give us the right to belittle them
The Otaku Dragon Slayer I just wonder why people wouldn’t like an arc like this
Sure I thought overhaul arc was slow but it have many cool parts
This chapter left me so broken and conflicted because I was rooting for a villain that wanted to take away Eri’s smile for his dream
My heart just can’t
I just really only wonder why ppl hate it
People wil always have different opinions. It's better to just live with it
Alex Kong I'm really liking this arc so far, but tbh it's basically filler.
Slobertooth 13 Impossible and illogical.
Drayko Drake gentle just wanted to break in, not cause trouble
Derpaboop Derp your probably right,I haven't read the manga in a while
@@derpaboopderp1286 but ultimately the Festival will be cancelled
Out of all anime youtubers you stand out the most to me for uploading consistent quality videos every single day about Anime,Manga and more. I keep coming back to your channel to see what's new. I look forward for this channel to reach 500k and more. Hope you have a great day as always Chibi the Dwarf! Greetings from Philippines!
Thank you very much Jessie
Ur Welcome! Keep up the Good Work Chibi Senpai! (*.*)7 *salutes*
i guess people are expecting bigger villains who can summon giant beasts, call forth meteors and split the continents...then we find out that deku was all along the chosen one who has within him the ultimate super ultra hero jesus mode.
i don't know about y'all, but i like this arc. it is scaled down from the overhaul and AFO arc, but i think this is a needed breather with just enough action to keep us entertained.
plus I really believe that Gentle is going to have a lingering impact on Deku and UA kinda like Stain and his ideology.
Haters: This arc is boring. When will get a good chapter.
Horikoshi: Ight Hold my beer 🍺
I wanted Izuku to win and I'm glad he did. Hopefully he gets the credit he deserves some way or another. The kid has come a long way. That St. Louis Smash to the face was badass. As for Gentle and La Brava, They may be sympathetic to a certain degree but they're still criminals who had what was coming to them. Trying to invade what is basically Academia's equivalent of a military school is just a stupid idea period. Eri's happiness and UA's reputation is much more important than Gentle's narcissistic desire to become famous. Ultimately, Izuku was in the right.
NightEnigma8 Gentle wants Fame so bad
This was a good chapter and all but whos ready to "PRAISE THE SUN" tomorrow??
FairyDeadlySins Williams me, but I think it'll be underwhelming like Meliodas vs Galan
I am
☀
So annoying..
Watch them butcher his introduction ;D
Is like my heart is being ripped in two"
Like another commenter said. Some people just want to be remembered. Sad when they have to go for evil to achieve their dreams.
In its foundation it is a bit selfish. Just depends what the reason you want to be remembered for is...
Midoriya won dude.. But I didn't really want him to win...
Trainzz why? Cause gentle’s sad backstory??
Trainzz bruh! What about the Little Girl who never experience happiness and Deku's classmate working hard......,bruhhhhhhh!
RoneX I know, and I'm glad he won. But it still made me quite sad, I simpathized with Gentle.
I don't care what any says, Horikoshi's writing is on Oda's level
micah white
Agreed. I love the twists in My Hero Academy.
character wise, yeah probably, but world building wise horikoshi isn't on that level, at least not yet, but the series isn't even 200 chapters so let's give him some time
micah white
Better not let one piece Fanboys see you commenting stuff like that. I got a shitstorm of hate simply for hoping Deku starts focusing on kicks like Sanji does lol
The Otaku Dragon Slayer
That's really sad. Fanboys need to grow up
only for characters but everything else meh
Can we talk about the quadruple finger flick attack izuku did? Pretty cool concept of multitarget attack
Diogo Cardoso ikr
Where can I read the recent chapters?
I been following this serie sense it first time came out in Japan, and fell for that right away. I did even meet Horikoshi for a sign while I was there Japan and through when it got it's big new about the Anime. And It's insane how people say such things about this Arc, but from y perspective I'm more surprised how Horikoshi have improved so much and have such talent sense the beginning of this serie. I really love "My Hero Academia" and can't also wait till the years when this Arc gets animated.
I'm seeing alot of people wondering what the point of this confrontation was, and I believe it is this: to allow Izuku to realize the importance of considering not just the people who have supported him on his journey to becoming the greatest hero, but also the people he has and will have to step on to reach that goal.
i need the next chapter now!!!! anyway, who's excited for the next episode of mha tomorrow?
I like how Horikoshi intentionally goes against the cliche's of other shounen maga. This chapter, for me, was the epitome of that ability of Horikoshi.
The man who wanted to go down in history...
is letting his and the MC's toughest fight go unknown.
... ok.
We're watching tho
Chibi Reviews
And I'm not forgetting.
Shit, this is really sad.I need to hear Bakugo threatening to murder someone again.
dear god Gentle is so cool and badass
also, HE PROTECT THE SMILE!!
DionysusGuy la brava is like 20+ year old.
RoneX ok?
Deku winning without absolutely destroying his body
FUCK YES !
But it's at the cost of Gentle and La Brava's happiness
NO. FUCK. CAN WE JUST...
Also Deku talking about how his dream is no longer his own started to make me tear up a bit. It seems that Deku started out wanting to be a hero like All Might, but has now transitioned to a hero that wants to show people a brighter future.
To be fair, so far Gentle only committed some minor robbery, so I don't think he will be locked up for too long
Probably won't. That said using quirks for criminal acts is also a crime on itself, but I doubt it will be for long as well.
I kinda hoped for Izuku to take both Gentle and her partner away from the pro-hero and let them go, warning La Brava that next time they won't get away with it..
Izuku vs Gentle
🎶I KEEP MY IDEALS WITH ME!
My faaate is miiiiine!🎶
Perfectly fits with this fight
That's how the song goes? i cant understand crap after i keep my ideals
Pipehiguita
Yup (as far as unofficial translations goes). Then it continues:
🎶Time to pay for all of my mistakes/ That I made without an ounce of shame/ I moved on and threw my life away./ Thank God I got out while I could/ I nearly gave it all away to an unknown and empty fate.
That's about the first 20 seconds.
I really like the idea of La Brava breaking Gentle out of prison and instigtating a Prison Break arc
I’ll call it now. Prison Break Arc coming up soon.
Is it possible getting this in S4? I know the Overhaul Arc is long, but could it still fit in?
gentle was a good sport about it though
he is a good person
actually alot of people we meet in my hero are similar to izuku in that they are heroic but they dont have the power to help others or the situation to and i feel thats horikoshi's social commentary on "he who deserves power is always different from those who has it"
izuku is an exception
Chibi have you read the manga called emergence/metamorphosis
That is an amazing manga. Heeeeella heavy, but just amazing.
STOP
IT'S
TIME
TO
STOOOOP
Oh heeeeeelll no
I read it today. It was pretty good. Didn't thought it was that popular.
what I REALLY hate about it isthat gentle lost so quickly.
Studio Bones has to animate this part. Its too good not to do.
Horikoshi be like "I don't wanna give the villains any backstories, I don't want fans to feel empathy for them" ;D
He dun goofed
Also heard that there will be no chapter next week. Dunno if true but I'll assume there is a break
No gay ass love potion power up shit is gonna stop my Deku!!! Plus... ULTRA!!!
This arc in a nutshell - Gentle gets pissed cuz his TH-cam videos keep getting demonetized
If Heroes always won villains wouldn't even exists.
gentle and katakuri have both been very good antagonists. It shows that they are not really bad dudes
This was a great video Chibi.
Thank you
That's just cuz Chibi is awesome. And knows his shit. One of the best anime youtubers.
LA BRAVIA NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED AT ALL COST OH MY POOR HEART
Gentle is great and all but does he pay his taxes.
AlphaOmegaNanite Master most of the fanbase understands why Gentle is an amazing character. But can they understand what makes Cinnamon Toast Crunch so good?
Where do you get this manga app
Im new on this channel
Yeah Gentle is a good character and all, but Eri was deconstructed and reconstructed by Overhaul. Gentle can take this L, Deku had every right to crush his dreams.
I LOVED this arc, everybody is sleepin on it tho wtf this arc is AMAZING!! Can't wait to see the aftermath and what happens
I like gentle
You saying Deku won because he's the main character is really selling him short. Deku beat Gentle fair and square, without overexerting himself like with Muscular and without outside help like with Overhaul.
Best couple of 2018!
You... you a good reviewer my man 👌🏽 well done and keep up the good work 💯
I honestly tried to like this arc but honestly I couldn't I think it's the worst arc sorry lifes not fair it doesn't take a genius to figure that out
Alright, alright.
Ghavarus a sidequest. But certainly one amazing side quest I’ve ever seen in a manga
S Q I forgot to mention strategy, But you get the idea. If you isn´t powerfull, strong and have a good STRATEGY then you will lose.
Not su much of strategy, more like technique
#Question
Hey Chibi, when the prison break happens and the villains run rampant and start attacking/killing heroes do you think that Stain would team up with the heroes to stop them? He is an anti-hero, yes, but he's NOT a villain. Do you think that he'd team up with the heroes if Izuku asks him to?
la brava needs some serious psychological help tho, its one thing to love someone alot, its another to be so obsessed to the point where u think u could die without them :/
Well technically Gentle is the only friend/ally she has
Well, she did contemplate suicide before she met Gentle. I don't think we're supposed to think that she has a sound mind for lack of a better word.
Karl Singh dark path? why?
Gentle is a criminal. Just because his intentions are noble doesn't mean the heroes shouldn't do their job and stop them. THIS is how heroes fall to a dark path.
I felt like Deku was gonna try to pull smth unexpected ... like, help Gentle, or let them get away ...
Karl Singh I get you but regardless of our opinions, they're still villains that tried to break into UA.
why does people think he doesn't deserve to get arrested??
you know he was intending to harme UA right
he's still a criminal
St.Louis smash is a arch kick and what’s in st.louis? the arch genius name
Mirio>>>>Gentle
I get the feeling Izuku's going to bounce back down to the ground and try to convince the guards to let him go
He will probably convince them to do otherwise or gentle is gonna tell them he kept la brava captive or something to let her free.
I *love* how conflicted izuku looked when la brava was weakly pummeling his arm begging for him to let gentle go.
Just read the chapter and almost teared up at the final page.
