Having played a truly ridiculous 6k game involving a reaver on one side and a warhound on the other I can highly recommend having at least one Titan fight. It’s incredibly silly and with the right units they’re not completely impossible to take down
I just like the fact that FW titans give people an excuse to play Adeptus Titanicus at 28mm scale. There's something to be said for seeing tens-of-thousands of pounds in expertly painted resin minis sitting on a gaming table the size of a small tennis court.
As a member and admin to the Titan Owners Club, I get to field my titans in battle a lot more than I would otherwise. The Weekend of 14/15 of October is our main Titan Walk of the year and those of you lucky enough to have seen us at Warhammerfest this year, that was a small Titan Walk 😉😃 Good video and Secutarii absolutely rock, in fact I fielded twenty of them at a Fall of Cadia in store Apocalypse game where that one unit killed around 3000 points worth of Aeldari by taking out a Revenant Titan which exploded and landed on top of the Aeldari host, wiping them all out! They are the #GOAT of my Mechanicum/Adeptus Mechanicus forces.
I really like these list videos. They give familiarity to my army that I've not got yet, being new to the HH. I'm building a Mechanicus force now. It's the funnest. 👍
Nice to see they still count the void shields. Knocking them down was always the key to fighting them in epic and the 40k approach of just a straight save really removes the tactics and feel. Give how many points they are its not like keeping tracks is particularly difficult.
Hell yea! I run Titan Legions, blobs of Secutarii supporting my Mechanicum. Usually a Knight as a LoW, but the occasional Warhound at 3k is a load of fun. The hoplites are pretty tanky and I just wish the Secutarii had Line so I could actually take an objective once and a while.
History of the Horus Heresy Designers: We made plastic titans but it was expensive. Who are they gonna fight? Production HQ: Ummm...how about we save money and let them fight each other? Designers: Why would they fight each other? Do you mean like a civil war? Production HQ: Yeah, sure lets go with that. Write something up and lets do this!
I know you're trying to be funny, and for any new company that would make sense, but old grognards like myself will point out that the Heresy as a civil war existed before space marines were even space marines. Back then, they could even be eldar, and eldar-human hybrids. The lore has come a long, long way
Hey, will you please make a video series on the time periods leading up to the Great Crusade? I basically really want for you to make a video on the dark age of technology, with speculation on the men of gold, men of stone, etc. Thanks for making this video, Ian. You do good work.
I have never played Horus Heresy. But it seems to me like you could totally play this in centimetres instead of inches and use Epic scale (new or old) minitures to have really big Horus Heresy games with massive amounts of Titans on the battlefield. When a single figure dies in a squad, you place a token by their squads base until their are more tokens than dudes and the squad is dead. It's gotta be one of the only ways you'll ever be able to play Legio Audax correctly. But someone would have to adjust the rules for Ursus Claws and the extra armour that Audax reportedly fit to their warhounds. I just want to be able to field a fully fledged khorne army standing under loads of snarling warhounds and following a Banelord into battle. When my wallet and GW let me do that I'll start crushing the blood for the blood god out of my enemies with the god machines feet! Ok?
You could do that, but why not just play Legions Imperialis at that point and actually have a system that represents titanic-scale heresy battles properly?
I had fun taking on a Warhound Titan with my Knight Household army and bringing it down eventually. Yikes. They were tough. Fortunately, so were my Knights.
ROFL Arioch Power Claw: it's yet-another homage to Moorcock; Arioch being Elric's benefactor god, and the king of the Chaos gods in Corum Jhaelen Irsei's branch of the Multiverse. Love spotting all this junk in your content
Warhound titan: can still be played on a standard table but a larger one would be preferable Reaver: I guess could be used on a standard table but playing on an extra large table would be best. Warbringer: rent out an indoor basketball court Warlord: rent out an indoor basket ball court.
I've always felt it'd be better if they just kept these at the epic scale, but they are REALLY appealing as a painting project, and I won't deny wishing they'd release a ruleset for fighting titan-boarding-actions.
I have several titans, I do not spend FW money on them I've printed them at roughly about 90% cost difference. My group regularly plays huge apocalypse games of 30k points per side. So I do get to files them regularly. Typically not facing other titans but several super heavies, Falcons, Fellblades , ect.
While the big Titans might be “silly” in a regular game, isn’t that all the more reason to get excited about GW bringing out Epic 2.0 to allow us to field an army of Lords or War?
If i ever win the lotto i'll get an army of say a reaver a warhound and titan guard .......... Probably no Warlord because i think even with a lotto win thatll be a long time sleeping on the couch ........ Nice to dream though
There is community made rules to run every 40k admech unit in 30k that have been thoroughly play tested. Thought you would have at least mentioned they exist, considering you have talked about community made 9th ed rules for 30k units in a past video 🤷♂️
Ian please never stop doing videos like this
I mean, FW are gonna have to release some more bloody armies then!
@@ArbitorIan I hope you do somthing like this for 40k or kill team at some point.

I also question if you don't give much besides chaff to shoot at they'll ever kill their points worth
Titans!!! The one of the best bits from the book Galaxy in Flames is from the Dies Irae crew's perspective.

The least used list? But Ian, Iron Hands have rules in this game
Still waiting for the Forge World Imperetor, costing the same as a small home in Nottingham.
And conveniently the same size

Warhound titan turbo lasers were actually FAQed to strength 12 ap 2 to match the liver astartes

I have to say, I am really intrigued by the idea of the titan guard.
You just made my day.
I am sick in bed and rewatched your Mechanicus army guide wich I loved.
And now this. Thank you so very much

If you ever buy a Warlord Titan and DON'T give it two power fists, I want nothing to do with you
Got Double Power Fisted, I see?? 🤔🤔🤭🤭🤣🤣

Always here for heresy vids
Are Secutari Hoplites a good melee unit to add to a Mechanicum force? Like 2 Units of Secutari to add to a group of Thallax and Myrmidons?
Can we have a video on the Legio Custodes; please and thank you!
👍

One day I'll be able to use it, maybe. Probably by 5th or 6th edition...
Arioch! ARIOCH! BLOOD AND SOULS FOR ARIOCH!
HH rules for the Iconoclast Warmaster when? xD
Would love to see a Titan only battle report in 30k
Comment for the comment god! Interaction for the Algorithm god!!

Still holding out for the Psi-titian to have rules :,)
Thousands of pounds of fw resin or like a couple bottles of 40dollar stuff if u have a printer 😅
And thousands of pounds of your OWN TIME
@@ArbitorIanwhat do you tmean?
He's talking about the time needed to learn and execute 3D printing. It's not not insubstantial, believe me.
@ogremark5 my saturn 2 has been basically plug and play though, only some minor issues which I quickly resolved
Am I mistaken or do Titan Legions have no access to Line units?! Thanks to anyone who can help!
That's what the Primary detachment is for!
@@ArbitorIan thank you! ❤️
Bring back Warhammer Epic 40k!!
bring back epic scale

For all 5 people that can afford a titan
Pardon my ignorance but...whabbout the Imperators and Warmongers?
Are they relegated to lore only just because they're absolutely stupid?
Rules don’t exist for them yet because no official models exist
@@Sunburnedhalo looking it up, seems the warlord model is like 2 feet tall. So an Imperator would be a little under 4 feet lmfao.
They're not in the army list cos they haven't made HH models for them yet
