Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC has been full of surprises obviously. However, I was NOT expecting to get Malenia PTSD. Look, not only does this, Romina Saint Of The Bud boss battle use scarlet rot against you - but it also has a VERY similar song to Malenia's second phase. I know I'm not tripping man.

Mohg was only obsessed with Miguilla because of his undeniable charm. All part of miquillas plan. So when we show up to “save” miquilla we give him what he needs most a vessel for his consort. We are the problem!!
Man this DLC is great. For the first few tries, especially when low on blessings, every boss feels like unrelenting BS and you hate them and think they're poorly made.
Then you beat them and realize you've learned the entire moveset and they're not really that bad. Unlike a lot of the base game bosses you don't really get a run where you were lucky, if you won, you learned and earned it here

I'm still playing through but I'm lore limited. What was he accused of again and what actually happened?
What I got from Romina is that she also was cursed with the rot or the rot god reached out to her. But instead of trying to subdue it, she embraced it.
yeah, alot of those in Elden ring. one embraced the outer gods blessing, the other despises it.
I think theres lore that says that once malenia was defeated the god of rot went to rominaor something.
Not quite, but kind of (?)...It seems that she is the starting point of the rot, I think the description on her soul and weapon reads somenthing around the lines of she used the rot(the divine esence that she found and she twist it into something else) to allow the flowers, buds, to take root on the scorched land.
So she wasnt quite cursed perse, it seems like she found a non rot version of the power of the rot and she turned it into rot or at least that is what it seems like going by the descriptions. In a way she is the first one that was in contact with the rot....its weird

@@EeveetoUmbreon25 No, the description of the incantation states that the rot butterflies are "as the ones of the Rot Goddess's wings". They're LIKE the ones of Malenia's wings, they're similar, maybe the same species, but the wording states that they're specifically only similar to the ones of Malenia. So they were probably stray flocks that Romina tamed.
Can't wait to see you fight the final boss, easily one of if not the hardest boss FROM has ever designed, you won't be disappointed

To point out something relating to Ansbach's comment about Miquella in the beginning of the video, he heavily implies in an earlier dialogue that Miquella charmed Mohg, potentially meaning that Mohg's "stealing" of his cocoon may have been Miquella's plan all along.
Ansbach also mentions attempting to kill Miquella himself to free Mohg of the charm, but he becomes charmed as well in the process, hence why he's initially met in service of Miquella along with the rest of the characters you meet in the Land of Shadows. He only splits from the group after the charm is broken when Miquella abandons his great rune during your travels there.

Doto learned to spam jump attacks pretty quickly. Deion also saute'd the boss pretty quickly when he did the same.

SeeReax! It is I, a guy who knows LORE! I just wanted to say that Mohg didn't actually kidnap Miquella, but rather Miquella brainwashed Mohg to take him to his palace to gain entry to the land of shadow, as explained earlier by Ansbach I believe. Good luck on the rest of your DLC journey 👍❤

You do realize you’re basically doing a challenge run with so few fragments. Respect!
Word of advice, that furnace golem on the bridge is worth keeping alive. Using the grace nearby and the bridge full of enemies, you can get him to genocide the lots of enemies at once and respawn them quickly for easy runes. With the talisman and the item buff, you can get about 50-60k runes every 20-30 seconds.

The place outside mogh on the ledge with the radahn swords is 140k runes per min.
With the farm at moghwyn palace, you can get 20k-30k runes every 5 seconds tho
Know you don't want spoilers and advice Rex, but for some special things, when you see a certain flower person, keep eating nectar and don't stop until something happens, and against the final boss, get grabbed twice for a special 'ending'. :)
There is no way he will ever figure that quest line out by himself.

He doesn’t realize he’s at end game and once he beats the boss I find it very unlikely he’ll explore the map to its content unless he hears about bayle or sumn….and even if he does find trina he’ll die from her once and leave cus he doesn’t even know who trina is or her gimmick

2:16 I dunno if you missed it, but right after the charm breaks old dude reveals that Miquela charmed Mohg to orchestrate his own kidnapping. Mohg still lead a cult of serial killers but he wasn't to blame for Miquela's abduction - and now his body is being desecrated.

Brother, you haven't seen anything yet, there is a bunch more in there, keep exploring around the world and you will find another very important entrance.
And the castle is full of secrets, most importantly a secret path which leads to a whole bunch of stuff.
Not to mention the whole bottom of the map you haven't even found.

I hate when he says blind cus does blind mean dumb…I didn’t watch anything my first playthrough of elden and ive never played a souls game. But found a ton of stuff by actively exploring and i picked up on some decent lore by talking to NPC ls…I found mohg organically…all he does is boss rush. It’s a blind playthrough but also just very rushed. I wish he’d sit n think like damn there’s supposed to be tons of content maybe I should just traverse and see the map one day… it’s a boss rush fr that’s it. I didn’t watch anything about the dlc but I did hear Mesmer name so once I ran through the keep and found Mesmer I realized I was in late game and left to go see the rest of the map. He quite literally doesn’t even digest the hints the game gives him. I was so mad he read the last of miquellas flesh at the cross plus the letter about burning the tree and it all being near ruah. That should tell him right there that he’s in the end of the game. But yet he just won’t comprehend it😂

I made a strong flame build and am kicking ass making it further into the game than I ever have ( first playthrough I gave up at renala )
I sometimes use mimic, sometime don’t, I sometimes abuse tf out of my build, sometimes I don’t.
I’ll eventually find my proper play style after a couple of NG+, but at the moment I like challenging myself and then forcing myself to just beat the boss bc fuck that shit.
Experience over the destination type shit.
I do admire how you push yourself to find everything by yourself/ blind. The ability to understand the game from foresight knowledge and win bc of it is much more satisfying than beating my head against the wall

Miquella wasn't kidnapped. He worked with Mohg, having been escorted to mohgs palace, promising him that he would become his consort. But Miquella had another choice in mind instead of mohg.
I’ll admit it, you might just be him fr because the fact you cooking these bosses with a almost non existent tree blessing number is INSANE 😂

Just in case you were wondering about poise breaking, Sometimes when you do break their poise while they are in a unstoppable animation attack. The poise break meter will fill but WONT activate the stagger effect. Which is why it feels random. It creates the same effect as missing a critical attack and the poise bar goes down slowly, It has to reach 0 in order to reset completely and fill up again to actually get the poise break effect.
I’m ngl Doto high key cooked this boss
Mohg was either compelled by Miquella to kidnap his dead body (kind of unlikely considering he was by the time Mohg escaped Leyndell depths, a dead body whose spirit was no longer inside) or Mohg was actually obsessed with becoming Miquella's Elden Lord after he heard how powerful and kind Miquella was especially towards the downtrodden and the disgraced.
I do feel bad for Mohg either way, his entire life was spent inside a filthy dungeon, unable to leave until the Shattering happened. He probably saw Miquella like a genuine god, compelled or not.
Seereax, the hour draweth nigh to test the true wielder of those blades.
Seeing Doto 1 try this boss has me asking many questions about whether it's his build or if he just ran in and beat her ass 😂 this game is very interesting to watch

for me so far Romina was the easiest of the main bosses I havent gotten anywhere past her just yet but she just felt a lot easier
When you use malenia greate rune and when someone hits you and drains your Hp if you hit back you will heal the drained Hp.
Gotta commend you man. You should be around scadu level 12-14 by the time you fight this boss. Doing it at scadu level 6 is kinda insane haha

So Miquella technically CHARMED Mogh into stealing him from the Erdtree which is why Melania didnt go after Mogh. Just keep playing, trust me youll be surprised by the end.
