The rhythm is the rhythm of the type of classical Turkish folk music that we call double-stringed (çifte telli) music. If you've listened to this genre before, maybe you've found it close to you.
The song also tells about the harem conflicts of the Ottoman palace and the love of the Ottoman sultan's disgraced concubine for the sultan. She begs the sultan to like "choose me and love me". This is something with a subtext, it tells Europe to choose me from all these songs. She portrays Europe as a sultan and presents the song as a concubine. Make me the first song I was 3rd before (in 1997 Turkey was ranked 3rd with Dinle) now make me (Turkey) 1st.
