    I'm a transplant from New England. I've live in NY State a good number of years but BUFFALO is my absolutely FAVORITE city. The people are awesome, architecture is phenomenal, educational institutions are amazing, there's always a lot to see and do. True, you have to like winter, snow and the occasional blizzard. But it's all a part of the local culture. I love this city.

    • @small_ed
      @small_ed 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The people are not "awesome", the architecture that still exists is like any other similar city in the rust belt, and the educational institutions are far from "amazing". Cornell is well removed from the region.

    I live and love in Buffalo and while this advert is accurate, it succeeds at barely scratching the surface of what Western New York has to offer! Every season, every holiday is accompanied by so many traditions and festivals new and old that it is literally impossible to not have some new opportunity for fun and adventure EVERY SINGLE DAY!

    This is a really great video. It's been unbelievable to see the recovery Buffalo has made in the last decade. Going downtown for Sabres' games as a kid I always dreamed of what it'd be like to see the city recover and show itself as the place I saw it and not it's national reputation. The rise of Larkin and the efforts of the house restorers on the west side deserve a lot of credit and I can't wait to see what's next.

    Magnificent. I just tweeted this video forward in Finland. I do hope that some great Finnish cities could use this video as an example in their own promotion work. This is important because, lets face it, cities like Buffalo and Jyväskylä are truly great places to live.

      Can you tell me just what makes it so special to you? I live downstate in the NYC suburbs (born and raised in NYC). I hate it here. It's so expensive, and I feel so isolated because I don't drive. I want to one day own my own home, and I want a place that has a small town feel with big city amenities and friendly people. Also, of course..I want to live somewhere safe, and I hear that Buffalo is very high in crime. Anything you can tell me about your experiences living there would be helpful. Thank you.🙂♥️

      @@jademusic1211 Downtown Buffalo may have some crime, but goes for any city. Mostly likely East Side, not near the revitalized area like Cannalside and the sports arenas. I grew up in Western New York, moved away in the mid 1990's after college because there was nothing here for me, plus no jobs or economy. Finally turning around the past 5-6 years. Still a long ways to go, but heading in the right direction. Heck, I'm seriously considering moving back to WNY myself, I noticed the great energy when I was there on vacation last fall. @@jstoli996c4s Aw, you're so sweet. Thank you. 🙂 Well, tbh, it concerns me about the economy and lack of jobs. 🙄 I'm guessing that the major benefit to living in Western NY is that it's much cheaper than other cities? But I don't know if that's enough. I mean.. Like I said, I'd love to finally own a home, but if you can't get work, it doesn't matter how much cheaper a house is compared to anywhere else. I also hear that it's snowy and cloudy much of the year. Is this true? I'm middle-aged, in case you're wondering. I don't have a degree. I just have a "glorified" data entry job that I've held for many years. I'm just sick of being here. I truly hate it and need a change. I love nature and the mountains, but I don't drive so I'm not accessible to any of that here..and I'm not into sports. I know Buffalo likes their "Bills". Anyway.. Thank you for responding. I appreciate it. 🙂xx

The locals don't realize that type of shit is not normal and there are cities where people have more respect for one another. In the same spirit, Buffalo is not a place that embraces outsiders...it's an overblown artifact of insular cliques. I guess a >30% poverty rate doesn't help.

    This is a very nice video to promote Buffalo. I've read some of the comments here and there seems to be mixed reviews on whether Buffalo would have been the best place to live for some of us. I left Buffalo because of the struggling economy. I loved the restaurants and food. There is much to do in Buffalo and as a student it provided me with positive opportunities on urban living back in the 80's. I am from a small Western New York village. It was and still is very cheap to live in Buffalo compared to other cities and I wonder how much of this is do to the economic situation in Buffalo. Health care, banking, and business software like Oracle seem to be growing in Buffalo. I would have included in this video areas of economic growth. A big draw for millennials is quality of life and availability of good paying jobs.

    Good commercial! I live in Toronto and the one big thing that stands out for me is the price of a house in Buffalo. Home prices in Toronto are crazy and growing every year. When I see the home prices in Buffalo, I just can't believe they are that cheap. Even with a low income, you can still have a decent place to live. Sure, the price of your home might not rise very much but at least you can afford to buy one.
    I haven't been to Buffalo in a while. I did go to that place that invented Buffalo Wings and they tasted exactly like the Buffalo wings we have in Toronto. (big disappointment) I hope things are looking up for Buffalo because it's nice to have some cool cities close to home, you can visit for the weekend. How many times can you go to Niagara Falls before you get tired of Clifton Hill? (and sadly Montreal and NYC are too far away) Come on Buffalo, step it up and gentrify! I need a cool city close by, to visit when I need a break from T.O.

    Frank Lloyd wright played a huge role in Arizona architecture and cookie cutter neighborhoods are in buffalo as well.... Maybe its just me but the video rubbed me the wrong way. I get the vibe from a lot buffalo articles and videos that its trying to hard to be awesome and hip and is passive aggressive. I like buffalo but this video needs a face-lift
