This is a really great video. It's been unbelievable to see the recovery Buffalo has made in the last decade. Going downtown for Sabres' games as a kid I always dreamed of what it'd be like to see the city recover and show itself as the place I saw it and not it's national reputation. The rise of Larkin and the efforts of the house restorers on the west side deserve a lot of credit and I can't wait to see what's next.
Magnificent. I just tweeted this video forward in Finland. I do hope that some great Finnish cities could use this video as an example in their own promotion work. This is important because, lets face it, cities like Buffalo and Jyväskylä are truly great places to live.
Can you tell me just what makes it so special to you? I live downstate in the NYC suburbs (born and raised in NYC). I hate it here. It's so expensive, and I feel so isolated because I don't drive. I want to one day own my own home, and I want a place that has a small town feel with big city amenities and friendly people. This is a very nice video to promote Buffalo. I've read some of the comments here and there seems to be mixed reviews on whether Buffalo would have been the best place to live for some of us. I left Buffalo because of the struggling economy. I loved the restaurants and food. There is much to do in Buffalo and as a student it provided me with positive opportunities on urban living back in the 80's. I am from a small Western New York village. It was and still is very cheap to live in Buffalo compared to other cities and I wonder how much of this is do to the economic situation in Buffalo. Health care, banking, and business software like Oracle seem to be growing in Buffalo. I would have included in this video areas of economic growth. A big draw for millennials is quality of life and availability of good paying jobs.
Good commercial! I live in Toronto and the one big thing that stands out for me is the price of a house in Buffalo. Home prices in Toronto are crazy and growing every year. When I see the home prices in Buffalo, I just can't believe they are that cheap. Even with a low income, you can still have a decent place to live. Sure, the price of your home might not rise very much but at least you can afford to buy one. I haven't been to Buffalo in a while. I did go to that place that invented Buffalo Wings and they tasted exactly like the Buffalo wings we have in Toronto.
