Awesome Flexible 3D Prints - How to Print Flexible Filament

  • In today's video I will take look at two flexible filaments, the eSun eLastic and the Taulman PCTPE. PLA filament is great, but sometimes it's simply not strong or tough enough for your purpose. You can find the filament here:
    Northern europe:
    Taulman PCTPE: www.creedo3d.com/product.html/...
    eSun eLastic: www.creedo3d.com/product.html/...
    International purchase:
    Taulman PCTPE: amzn.to/2nebpzn
    eSun eLastic: amzn.to/2n6reb2
    3D printers:
    TEVO Tarantula: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/ZjURbii
    Anet A8: www.gearbest.com/3d-printers-3...
    COUPON CODE: rclifeon
There's a couple of things I forgot to mention in the video! For starters, the eSun eLastic is non-toxic, while the PCTPE fumes are quite dangerous to inhale for a long period of time. I also forgot to mention that the fans should be turned off while printing flexible filaments. The bumber for my radio controlled car was designed using Fusion360.
Two of the most asked questions is "which 3d printer do you recommend" and "where are you from"? I recommend the Anet A8 and the TEVO Tarantula as your first 3D printer. They are both awesome and extremely inexpensive machines. So, where am I from? Well, you guessed it, I'm from Sweden!

You're certainly right about the new filaments opening a lot of doors and opportunities for makers. It's blowing my mind. Can't wait to see what people come up with next. There are so many uses.

Great video. I modified my OG Ender3 to print flexible stuff, and it's incredible. I printed some grommets for my car, the old ones were allowing my air filter box to vibrate because they were worn out... with the new ones it doesn't shake at all.

  • @MehranDadbeh
    @MehranDadbeh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Hello, thank you for your content. I am presently working on finding a material suitable for making my prototype.
This material needs to be soft yet keeps its form, very light in weight so it can interact with air when it travels through air ( airworthy) and smooth so it will help with the airworthiness.
I have tracked down the material to TPE category and then the subcategory of the PEBA.
I wonder if I am finally on to the right material for my toy prototype?
Can you suggest anything else to meet my criteria?
Ideally a material similar to what soft boomerangs are made out of, they seem hard yet bendable and keeps its shape, soft and lightweight and smooth enough surface for air travel when thrown.
    With kind regards,
    Mehran

I think I'll print some flexible bumpers for my personal electric vehicles. I'll have to find what filament is both impact resistant and abrasion resistant, as I think those are the two main risks (also, it should be fairly slippery, as it is often preferred to slide rather than abruptly stop during a collision.

Image using the elastic filament, for something like a phone case for a cheap phone like, a phone from a dealer like, metro. Having a back to the case, would help, especially if it's dropped off a table or a desk. I would use it for that, going with a design that had some grip to it.
