This video lets you hear my latest bath filling recordings, recorded from 4 different microphone positions, so let me know which mic position you like best in the comments! I will upload longer versions of each recording in due course! Please note each 15 minute segment was made from a shorter recording (3 to 4 mins long) which was looped to increase the length of each segment to 15mins. Very little water was wasted during the making of this video!
Indeed, by mistake, I played mic position 2 (which is my favorite because I like the smooth reverb, and a good compromise for having less aggressive the water sound) with the newer mic recorded through the wall in another room (from the video in the new channel). It gives a really delightful woof background. It gives a natural surround, and not agressive. Other associations are also interesting, I like with position 3, but maybe less natural. It works also well with water pipes sounds, naturally (mixed in a low volume). This is like a white noise, but watered, more charming, so discretely mixed, I think it adds "texture", "colors" to the bath filling. ,o) So yeah you can try with these three sounds mixed, I think it works very nicely. I absolutely love your bath filling recording, I'm sharing experiences I read in your videos when I was child (my room is also near to the bathroom and the bathlub is at level of my head when I sleep). I was also sticking my ears closer to the bath to hear something like your your position 4. This is harder to capture with a micro because you can stick your ears against the bathtub.
I used to listen to water flow through the 1st floor pipe line of a house I used to live in when someone used to bathe in the bathroom directly above where the pipeline was (it was the kitchen) and this video gives me a nostalgic feeling. Thank you, this is really relaxing.
Pos 1 delivers the best sound. There’s a deeper bass resonance that really sounds great. Maybe it reminds me of listening and feeling the bath from the adjacent room as a kid-quite a cozy feeling. Thanks for making these bath vids!
Thanks Michael, so I'm guessing you like the first two recordings best ? These have more room sound, less direct sound, especially mic position one where the mics were actually outside the bathroom door, so the sound is more muffled!
The closer the mic gets, the clearer you can hear the splashing, and the sound of the actual stream seems to fade out....but it's incredible how much of a difference these few feet make! These are all great sounds, but my favorite is the one from outside the bathroom door :) Anyway, this is as great as always, so relaxing! Thank you for this!
If you are still minding these comment SoundsToBlowYourMind: This is the ideal sound, with the splashing upper notes and booming lower ones. If you ever want to try another; same mic position, hot water - of course, but less flow. Not an annoying trickle obviously, but about half this volume of water coming from the tap. And even though looped, begin at the very beginning, closing the drain, and then the nice splashing sound right at the beginning when the water hits the tub. We used to have a big cast-iron claw foot tub when I was a child, and that makes the ideal instrument. I liked the first segment best for sound -Thank you.
Nice!! #3 and #4 are PERFECT! I love that the closer the mic is the more you can hear the "stream" or "trickle" detail of the water...if that makes ANY sense at all! LOL! LOVE your bath videos -- keep up the great work! Helps me get to sleep almost every night...👍🏼
I have just uploaded the 2 hour version of mic position 3 and I will be uploading mic position 4 later tonight! th-cam.com/video/MMvcjEpryiY/w-d-xo.html
This is awesome. I think #1 is my favourite. Reminds me of when I was a kid and we had a tiny cupboard with the water heater in. I would sit inside while my parents ran a bath. It was the most relaxing thing ever! I would love a downloadable audio file, if that's something you would ever consider.
I love these running water recordings. Yours are different from the rest, and that is hot water which has a completely different depth to it as opposed to the other recordings out there which are of cold water filling a bath. The hot water running makes a very cozy sound. Btw I am yet to find a nice recording of a jacuzzi. All the ones out there focus on the water, yet the white noise coming from the motor and blower everyone ignores. Perhaps something to consider for a future post?
Another great video! love this so much. keep up the good work. Will you be doing ASMR with your voice again soon? you're one of my favorites and it's mostly cause of the accent. XD it's honestly quite soothing
There are two different types of tingles that I'm aware of. Firstly there is the chills / goosebumps type thing, sometimes called frisson, which some people get when listening to certain sounds, or also when listening to an inspirational piece of music, or watching an epic scene in a movie. Then you have ASMR, which is a pleasant tingling sensation, usually felt in the top of the head / scalp, which is more relaxing than the other type. Not everyone experiences ASMR though, but it's usually triggered by listening to someone whispering, or making tapping sounds, or crinkling sounds, or making sounds with their mouth, eating, chewing, etc, or you might get ASMR when you are having a haircut, or a back massage. Just look up "What is ASMR" to find out more about it!
I will be doing more of those ASMR videos as well, but my bath filling recordings are by far the most popular videos on my channel, so I want to make sure that people who subscribed because of these videos have some new versions to listen to occasionally!

Nice idea Mike, I have cubase, so I will try that!
Cool. I can't wait.

Hi, I like it. It's deeper sounding and has more resonance, I got the tingles right away!
Great job! Thanks.

3 years later and I still listen to this almost every night.
So it's gonna be 5 years now, still listening it ?
I know i do

yesssssss, the only way i've been able to get to sleep for months is from your bath filling vids
Thanks Bob, so which mic position do you like best ? See video description above for more info!
SoundsToBlowYourMind i liked the first and last one the most
My favourite is definitely outside the bathroom door :)
2-6inches away are the best ones!
So the last two recordings ? These are more direct sound (less room sound / reflected sound / reverb etc)
SoundsToBlowYourMind yes the last two recordings are perfect :)

3rd, as you can hear the "hissssss" sound of the water running trough the tube. Awesome
I have just uploaded the 2 hour version of mic position 3: th-cam.com/video/MMvcjEpryiY/w-d-xo.html
I like position 4 the most. You captured the running water very well.
Yo it’s so good for meditation

Like last one (nearest to faucet) the best. My favorite of your videos is the hard candy!

Thanks, and yes that makes perfect sense!

Full length version of mic position 2 has now been uploaded! th-cam.com/video/GQ0wpH7UMQI/w-d-xo.html

Замечательный канал
Big ole bath for the whole family.
🙏🏻
what are these tingles everyone is on about?

Hi this is great I like it but is there any way you could upload a version with no picture? Just a blank screen? Then I could use it to sleep
My latest bath filling video just has a black screen, check it out!
Would you happen to have a 96k or 192k version of this by chance?
Longer loops😮
You should really consider ASMR with your voice again :/
I will be doing more of those ASMR videos as well, but my bath filling recordings are by far the most popular videos on my channel, so I want to make sure that people who subscribed because of these videos have some new versions to listen to occasionally!
