That Mike Tyson speech gave me chills down my spine bro and I would play it before every wrestling match even at nationals
@@3rdbatt47 that’s how I took down the kid who took first that year - would you look at that, I did it again.
Mike was the proverbial "animal backed into a corner" of fear, nothing more dangerous than that, he was so scared to let down the one man who had belief in him and backed him that fear gave the ultimate illusion of total confidence and resulted in total domination
Tyson was a savage in his prime no doubt. But when i saw the fights that he lost. Its like he gave up & lost his heart in mid fight...Tyson even admits that he was very scared ofcourse because of the mental, physical & sexual abuse he endured during his youth..majority of the fights that he domintated was because other fights where intimidated. The few fighters that didnt care & werent intimidated it took away some of Tyson's juice...Tyson was highly skilled ofcourse, but most of what feuled his Domination was high Testosterone, controlled Rage & intimidation tactics. Once that started wear off he wasnt the same at all. Even Teddy Atlas said this about him..Tyson is still one of the best fighters of all time & its great to see how enlightened he has become in old age.
Please expand on your understanding on mike Tyson's practice of projection, as in projecting the fear out to the world
Without Fear we wouldn’t be alive it prevents you from doing stupid dangerous things. As a fighter you don’t run from Fear you embrace it you use it to get out of the way of danger. You keep your focus on your opponent at all times do not get it twisted the man across from you is trying to knock your head off. And doing all this dancing foolishness during a fight that certain fighters like to do is just plain stupid. I don’t care how talented you are anyone can get knocked out.
Tyson has this unique ability to actually become more articulate and well spoken when he’s really excited. He’s had so many amazing phrases that you could write a book out of just randomly quoting.
he was well read, i think Cus encouraged him to read books about war and military so he'd get that mindset and war philosophy.
Mike tyson had the most interesting/disturbing press conferences ever.
The best part is that it was real, unlike today's press conferences which are just for show.
@@luiseduardogomezdearandaju723 fr today's press conference are fucking born
Absolutely terrifying but, totally amazing and exciting. Mike Tyson was everything to everyone back then and rightly so too. Still to this day but for different reasons. What an amazing person. Totally fascinating!

A mate of mine loves that interview. All these years later and he still pisses himself laughing (figuratively that is).
All his behaviour comes from fear. You kick a dog long enough its gonna either shake and quiver at everything or bite the fuck outa everything at the slightest provacation. He got hurt real bad when he was young!

Nope. They are important to about 5% of the viewers. Most people dont comment.
@@jd0604 The sheer fact that you're replying to it kind of proves my point. The banter, the sense of community, the memes, the Joey Diaz/Eddie Bravo quotes. Sometimes the comments would crack me up more than the show.

Spotify isn't the same.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one good thing in the comments. Not everything is technically bad but most of it is useless at best. The comments are the least of the issues with Spotify. TH-cam works better, most people already have it, it had already been there forever, etc.

I wished I could’ve been alive in the 80s watching Mike Tyson in the ring during his prime because he’s a beast. I was born in 2003.

@Sharks how did you watch tyson fight on tv in the 80s if you were born in 82?

@Sharks snap dude. I was an 82 baby aswel, experienced all the same things you mentioned in your comment. I feel sorry for today's children/teens. We had it all man!

Lol… I immediately imagine Breuer in the crowd yelling back at Mike as Goat boy…😅
that conqueror speech is fucking awesome. Alexander was such a chad that more than 2000 years later men are still competing over who gets to claim to be like him
Tyson has said multiple times that he actually used to cry before his fights because he didn't like the person he was about to turn into. Can you imagine being a fighter and the other guy you're about to fight is in tears over what he's about to do to you. Terrifying
There’s footage of him in a blue robe crying before the fight. I screen recorded it and put it on a flash lol. It was that deep.

I used to watch Mike Tyson compilations just to make me happy in the morning.
Joe was so upset when the guest talked about Jamie’s hog, Joe is clearly going to beat Jamie again after the show for hog signalling guests.

If cuss hadn’t died no telling how long mikes run would have been.
I think he would of went undefeated if cuss was there throughout his entire career, It’s sad honestly. People say today he’s one of the best ever but imagine if he had cuss and not don king definitely would have been a different narrative. We wouldn’t have the national treasure and wisdom of Iron Mike we have today everything happens for a reason I guess.
Holyfield was way too tough man, in a longer fight the bigger guys just wear Mike out, regardless of skill.
A man has never been more scary to me than when that guy asked him about losing his daughter in that interview... JC almost made me cry and I wasn't even there

Tyson never got back to his prime after prison. He could have, if he had the right people still around him.
He was totally stage managed by Don King and post prison carefully avoided every legit opponent on the planet. Tyson had two tune up fights against bums, then two title fights that were against mediocre opposition that also happened to be Don King fighters. They only took the Holyfield fight because they thought Holyfield was a shot fighter and to counter the backlash from Tysons fight against Seldon (where it looked like Seldon had taken a dive)
@@capitalcitygoofball1987 what’s a shot fighter? Is that someone who’s tryna always face the defending champ or something?
@@Awesomepeps someone who is no longer close to his prime, and hence not a big threat. Notice I said "they thought Holyfield was a shot fighter". He wasn't obviously. But he was coming off a KO loss to Bowe, in which Holyfield just ran out of a gas (later revealed Holyfield had hepatitus) and a fight to little regarded Bobby Czyz in which Holyfield won by a boring, 10 round decision. He looked like a safe bet but still would generate the big buzz Team Tyson needed after the Seldon fight.
God had a funny sense of humor giving Mike Tyson and Brock Lesnar those voices lmao
The "I'll eat your children" post fight interview still gives me chills.
My favorite part is when he said “I wanna eat your children” 😂😂😂
Yes he was referring to Lennox who didn't actually have any children at the time.
The fight didn't really go well for him as Lennox battered him. It would have been a better fight if they were in their prime. Mike was a bit more over the hill than Lennox but they had both seen better days.
"i want his heart, I wanna eat his children" .....this could be interpreted in a variety of ways.....
Lmao “he might”
Greatest thing I love is that not a damn person in Mike camp dared to try to stop him on that Lenox Lewis press conference.
Thats y Lennox had all of those bady guards, that pussy waited until his guards grabbed him and jumped on him, then Lennox started to punch him. Can't really blame Mike for biting him, he was literally being jumped by like 6 guys

I watch the new JRE on spotify and don't even know how its possible. If i want to hear a specific musuc album it gives me only a shuffel play of songs...strange
The podcast starts from the beginning sometimes as well. For exp. I was an hour and a half into this episode. I pause it close the app then open it and the podcast goes back to the beginning.
Rogan was low key jealous when mark complimented Jaime.
Yes but not because Jamie got a compliment and joe didn't, if he did get jealous it was because joe knows that's a compliment he can only dream of receiving, he's jealous of Jamie's hog not his compliment 😂🤣
Joe !!! We need a Jamie as guest podcast. Common peeps lets do a special all Jamie and Joe podcast
It sounds like Mike Tyson is really sad and going to cry when he is talking about his best friend dying.
The real crazy part? That guy (Darryl “Hommo” Baum) was the one who infamously shot 50 Cent and was then shot and killed himself in revenge by 50's people just after. So in a pretty direct way, one of the biggest Hip Hop figures of all time is responsible for probably the biggest Boxer of all time at his most violent.
It turned into a cringe when mike almost forgot he'd already dedicated the victory to his brother.
Yeah sounds like he just uses aggression to get through the pain. Like Cus taught him.
@@novatryshots that is exactly what that situation was. Darryl "homicide/hommo" baum was one of Iron Mike's childhood friends and goons. He's the one that shot 50 9 times and then got killed himself. 50 cent talks about him on the song " MANY MEN"

That hypnotic mantra… not only what Joe said but also within that mission would include a programmed instinct to skillfully react to any attack levied by his opponents without letting up on moving forward on the offensive like a mongoose to a cobra. Fearless and assured of the kill before it even happens. I think that’s pretty amazing.

He had a diffuclt upbringing and he was built to be a beast what made him the legend today. But he his a kind soul fo sure... Inspiration to us all. Much love my friend.
Whenever joe talks about mike tyson he is so passionate about him
Sort of to a fault though on this one. His passion isn’t doing any damage of course, but his opinion is flat out wrong ..
Mike Tyson in the lead up to fighting Lennox Lewis had already been exposed as past him prime, and the way he acted was the actions of a bully. During one conference he walked over to Lewis and attacked him, Lewis stood his ground and cracked him with a punch, ever since then Tyson was scared.
Tyson acting out was always out of fear. When he bit Holyfields ear off it wasn’t because he was a monster, it was because he was scared, he was losing, and he wanted out.
