6 Olight Torches (Flashlights) Compared for Pocket EDC + Brightness Test

  • Detailed walkthrough and brightness comparison of most of the smaller EDC range of Olight torches/flashlights. I take a fairly detailed look at the way each of them works as well as a brightness demo and comparison showing how their various brightness and beam patterns compare.
    These are the torches/flashlights I round up and compare:
    Olight i3E EOS
    Olight i3T EOS
    Olight i5T EOS
    Olight Perun mini
    Olight Warrior mini
    Olight Seeker 2
    There are two torches/flashlights that are missing from my collection here. One is the Batton II and the other is the M2R Pro Warrior. The Baton II is a similar size to the Perun mini in this video but beats it generally in terms of performance - but it projects from the end as normal. For me the Perun mini version made much more sense at this size.
    The M2R Pro Warrior would sit between the Warrior mini and the Seeker 2 in my collection and offers more aggressive tactical features, more brightness and throw and better battery life than the Warrior mini. However it's a similar size to the Seeker 2 which offers much more brightness again so at that price/size you can choose between brightness or aggressive tactical features.

    The flashlight/torch community is a fantastic rabbit hole I stumbled upon when looking for a headlamp to use for reading at night
    Great reviews, love the style

    These are great little torches. I bought the Baton 2 and the moon setting is great if I wake at night and my eyes are adjusted to dark, I can see clearly and not be dazzled.

    Awesome video! I live in the US and was planning to get the I3T or I5T for my EDC, but you’ve shown me some quite possibly better options.

    Ben, I think we are just on the same wavelength or something. It's weird. I get into mechanical keyboards and then discover your channel. Then just as l buy a RovyVon A5 keychain flashlight and a Prometheus EDC in brass, you upload this.
    I was surprised how often I use a flashlight having now got one on me the whole time.

      Heh yeah hopefully there’ll be plenty more topics of interest to come! Yeah having one in your pocket is a really useful thing for sure. That A5 is cool!

      Seconded. I bought the same torches as you as well Joshua! I'm kicking myself though because I saw the Olight sale and didn't pull the trigger...

      Yeah I do enjoy creating kits! Started with the SAS Survival Guide when I was a kid I think!

    I got the i5t.. amazing. What you have in front of you on the desk there (together) could probably light up a football stadium in pitch black.. these things are so powerful and quality for the size. I like the one your dad wanted.. I want it to but $100 is a lot lol.

    Just picked up the Warrior mini, it’s perfect! I never minded weight or bulk on my person, (I carry a Leatherman, a flashlight, a knife etc etc)

    • @BenVallack
      @BenVallack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is something else for the size isn’t it. Agree - carrying a good set of stuff is worth it and quite possible to to live with - I’m doing a video soon on exactly that in fact :)

    If you are getting into the EDC game, I really rate the Lamy Pico as a pen. It's super compact and then telescopes out to full-size. My only quibble is the mechanism isn't the smoothest and it doesn't have a clip.

    • @BenVallack
      @BenVallack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool cheers - any thoughts on why it’s better than the space pen?

    • @joshuamhardwick
      @joshuamhardwick 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BenVallack I didn't like how the Space Pen wrote, I think because of the pressurised nature of the cartridge. It's a seriously cool pen though, I can see why it's such a mainstay of the EDC world. Has a cool story behind it.

    What would you recommend a perun mini or baton 3?

    • @BenVallack
      @BenVallack  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perun mini every time! The forward facing hands free light is just brilliant for something so small you can always keep in your pocket.

    I never considered having a dedicated but then again I don't leave the house

    • @BenVallack
      @BenVallack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Actually one of the most handy uses I've found for keeping it in your pocket is for around the house. I often find myself putting something in the loft and not being able to see!
