Breaking Benjamin exhibits a great balance of restrained power, which makes it all the more brutal when unleashed. They ration their heaviness and for that very reason it's all the more potent.
I like BB but this is not heavy
Breaking Benjamin is one of those hidden gems in the rock genre that never fail to disappoint! They have stayed true to their sound since day 1 and always have improved with each album. I have the utmost respect for these guys, and I always will.

I feel the same. Still wish they would have stuck with Randall Amps, rather than going to Fractal Audio. It gave them more of a rich deeper, baritone sound. But they still kill it.
I think if anything they've kept improving on the solid foundation that was Saturate.

lol god no. He writes some pretty decent music, the lyrics are definitely pretty standard fare for the genre in most cases. In fact, many different songs contain almost the exact same words just placed in different orders.
I do love BB, but nah, you can't say Benjamin Burnley writes better rock songs than guys like Lennon, McCartney, Bowie, Clapton etc etc.

As a producer, i really like the raw sound, and the fact that it doesn't sound so overproduced. I fucking love it!
& you can hear the drums, the bass and the brutal guitar, in every song from the album so far.
Many bands "evolve" to go more pop, citing financial motives. But Breaking Benjamin simply...WILL NOT BOW. If anything they've grown HEAVIER, feeding deprived rock fans. And Ben channels his *angry resistance* to the shittier modern sound with that increasingly MIGHTIER death growl. He suffers physical pain due to a rare disorder and refines this pain into these straight up HITS, which is why they resonate so well with the suffering. He's fuckin saving Rock and he should be knighted for it..

Yeah, I was gonna say that for better or for worse (in one's opinion) their new songs have definitely been a bit of a departure from their usual sound. Somewhat heavier.
There's nothing wrong with actual change. This isn't identical to Phobia or We Are Not Alone either.
There is however certainly something wrong with "changing" towards pop for economical reasons, and it is really nice to see Breaking Benjamin still refuses to do so.

Jordan Simmons Alot of their songs sound alike. But thats what makes me like it so much.
It probably has something to do with the fact Ben writes pretty much everything, and he's on record that he has no interest in trying to "reinvent the wheel."
Unlike a lot of musicians, who have grandiose ambitions about producing some immortal work of genre shattering-- or at least, genre defining-- art, he's said all he's interested in producing is consistently solid music that will stand the test of time.
That means he doesn't spend a lot of time experimenting around outside of his comfort zone. He knows the sound he's aiming for, and sticks to what he's good at.
The one thing I love is that they kept that Breaking Benjamin sound we all love. They didn’t try to take a new route or dramatically change. If something is good don’t change it.
My dad would listen to rock music all the time when I was little. I’m 20 now and this is one of the bands I remembered that he listened too because I liked the songs a lot. This song is obviously newer than the Breaking Benjamin songs I listened too and I had Alexa playing their songs and this song came on and I felt like I knew the song even though it was my first time hearing it. Love this song.

Out of the all songs on Ember, this one is a personal favorite and it's the one I listen to the most. This song helped me get through my last remaining days when I worked at a Wal-Mart (I was so happy once I finally left).

Yep. I was just a kid addicted with Diary of Jane AMV's that constantly had the entire Phobia album on repeat. Now I'm a grown ass man thankful as fuck that the breakup didn't end the band and that they recovered after Dear Agony. Was so scared they were going to lose their sound that I fell in love with but they've only improved it and grown heavier as time has gone on. Easily my favorite band with Alter Bridge. There's no other competition even remotely close.
