Brilliant arrangement by Layne and from memory a special thanks to his dad for lending his mint car for ambient effect in the video. Loved the reaction, I knew this one would have you vibing, and singing along....I sure as hell did watching it the first time.
This was amazing - Layne's arrangement, the 80's 'Miami Vice' atmosphere, the 'bad VHS tape' effects on the video, that iconic drum fill - and seeing you grooving to it, just made my day! Thank you so much! 🥰
I keep saying that it's very 1980s Miami Vice. The dedication in filming outside at night behind the Oviedo Mall. Fog machine malfunction, losing power to the lights, and being eaten by the bugs. They even had a live audience. Folks out walking and stopping to watch. Laynes Dad's 1972 Pontiac.
This is definitely my favourite Layne arrangement and my second favourite overall (after their cover of "Nothing Else Matters"). Thank you for reacting to this! 🌹🕊
From a Vocal Perc Perspective, this has got to be Layne's Magnum Opus. Layne's a magician with Vocal Perc and he continues to pull new stuff out of his ass, but accurately replicating THE Iconic Drum Fill of All Time? Nah man. That's it. You ain't got nothin' left to prove. Ain't nothin' you can do gonna top that.
This was good but to me can't touch the original. Just like nobody could copy what you do Red or how beautiful you are ❤❤💘#voiceplayreaction #voiceplay #reaction #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulcountrygirl
Hi there Red, it's been a little while. Did you miss me? LOL Sorry.... couldn't help it! Any time you react to anyone a cappella, I'm there. I just happened to be sitting at my desk (home office) with my browser open... and I saw this BRANDY NEW reaction come up! I'm listening while commenting. It's my reaction to YOUR reaction... LIVE! Here we go! Love that face when Eli comes in!! Okay, you are enjoying this WAY too much (if there IS such a thing)! I think "dark and ominous" is what you might have been looking for. Is that drum kick great, or what!!?? Layne. Geez! Okay, now you're just groovin'! I LOVE it! And THERE it is! The famous "eyes closed, head noddin', body swayin', hands movin'" Red we all know and love! Not every song hits you like this. I'm glad you're enjoying this one so much! I THINK I even saw some goosebumps there at the end? Great reaction, as always young lady!!
These guys are great musicians, and it's a good version of the song, but I feel it's missing the sinister undertone of the song. "If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand". That lyric has an evil connotation to it. Leaving someone else to die when you could save them. In the 80's there was a rumor that this song was about a man who witnessed his wife's rapist die. "I've been waiting for this moment"

I think Layne did an amazing job with this arrangement! ❤
They did this song such justice!!!
Oh the emotion is wonderful! The video was geeat and no instruments. Best of all, you can understand all the words.

Layne's dad loaned them the 1972 Pontiac that he had bought new. J None had the Miami Vice jacket. I love it too.
Oh the pink jacket was J's? No wonder he looked so good in it!

I would've loved to see them filming this video. I bet the audience had a good time!

This was just a fantastic arrangement, and the video production was outstanding!! Great reaction!
I just subscribed to you after seeing this reaction. I just love the way you got into it.
I want to clap every time I hear this.
Clap AND stomp for me. 😊

You have to watch a live version by the original artist, Mr. Phil Collin’s.
I TOTALLY agree!
These guys are great musicians, and it's a good version of the song, but I feel it's missing the sinister undertone of the song.

The Gorilla did a better drum fill. You'd probably need to be from the UK to get that. Search Gorilla In the Air Tonight advert and you'll see. 😂
Got to admit: this is not really for me. Love the song, and these guys are without any question good. But it I'll stick to the original.
