- Hi !
It is very simple setup obtained from aliexpress :
HackRF One - only for receive from LNB. (waitinging for TCXO)
Unmodified PLL LNB from local SAT store for 7euros works fine for CW and SSB when no direct sunlight.
Passive mixer - H213
2x preamplifiers SPF5189 or BGA6589
2300-2500mhz microstrip bandpass filter, without it i got power loses.
4w WFi booster board (little modified by short-circuit 2 input comparator pins) do not waste money for "8w" version - it is the same 4w,only is written total used power - 8-10w. Measured.
Wfi grid antenna, horizontal/vertical polarization (lost 3db, but sufficient to work in cw and ssb)
As LO for mixer now i use Ettus B210 clocked with external 10Mhz OCXO. In near future i will use ADF4350 or Si5350.
And TRX - Yaesu FT-817 at 2w and 15db attenuator (do not try to use FT-857 - it has full power peaks then set it to 5w !)
S400 cable, I think 5-6m is too long for this setup, but is possible to make contacts.
Update : programmed Atmega328 (Arduino) with ADF4350, works very well with internal crystal. So now i have no need to use Ettus B210 TX channel as LO oscilator. Now Ettus works with gqrx software only as good sensitive receiver. Next improvement - using external OCXO with Ettus, gqrx did not uses it "out of the box". Without it sounds not very good, HackRF one sounds better, but is less sensitive.
Any recommended group to join?
Whats the equipments?
Equipment very simple - FT-817 as transmitter on 2m, mixer from aliexpress and ettus b210 as IF oscilator (not very simple :) ), but later i make sythesized one with ADF4350, arduino and Wifi 4w power amplifier board. Works very good, but 4w is too low for my wifi antenna.
@@MKhanfar-MWK Sir whats your setup , i have also pluto SDR? rgds Kurt
