THANK YOU! When my document changed from portrait to landscape. It started the page number from 1 again (halfway through the document). I simply formatted the page number in the footer of the landscape page to continue on from the previous page and it fixed it. (3:15) Thank you so much.

I have been for YEARS to figure out a problem I have : I have a document which has which has several sections and each section has "different first page". I am using continuous numbers at the bottom on the left and the right hand side. The problem is : every time a new section begins, the left and the right are not aligned. When I turn off the "different first page", the page numbers become correct. What's happening?
thanks, I had to delete all of mine and start the number at 3 and then make the second one continuous to get it all to work. I totally skipped the first four pages so they were zero. the cover, and table of contents pages.

First; WHY DOES IT SAY "SECTION TWO ON PAGE 2 IN THE HEADER? Explain these differences. I see "Secion Break" Why is that there, I didn't put it in, so why is it in there? Should it say Section 2, and why should it. EXPLAIN this. Could this be why my doc's numbering is messed up? It restarts counting my pages starting with the number 1, and starting with number 2, seemingly randomly. Also, at one place it skips from Section 4 to Section 6, and restarts counting with the number 2. How do I fix this?
The additional section break is likely causing your problem. I suggest deleting all your section breaks at the beginning of your document - first five pages or so.. and start with "clean" pages that have no section breaks. Then start adding your section breaks to get your pagination the way you want it.
Katie I'm struggling. I have four pages before my first page. The first four states header section 1 on the first three pages, then header section 2 then the page I need to start with my number is header section 3. Next page which would be numbered 2 has header 4. Help

@@katiecanuck when I delete the Section Breaks, it screws up the pages. I get one letter of each word on each line for pages.
