    I love your video; thanks for creating it. I noticed that you were carrying your hard drive on top of your computer, putting pressure on the screen. I would be super careful about doing that. The screens on the new MacBooks are so thin that it is crazy. I just had to replace a screen on my M3 MacBook Pro, and let's just say I'm eating Ramon for a while to recover. don't want to see that happen to you! the MX Master 3S can be paired to Mac and Windows, both versions.
    Only difference is that the Mac version doesn't include the USB-Dongle, because modern MacBooks don't have USB-A ports and the charging cable is USB-C to USB-C instead of USB-A to C.
    It just works like any other Bluetooth mouse on PC. Latency is a little worse than it is with the dongle.

    Adding an iPad mount (if you have an iPad) wouldn't be a terrible idea either. Making use of SideCar or extending your display comes in very very handy for just about any task honestly. I like to use my iPad to extend my MBP display whenever I'm traveling and doing schoolwork, programming, etc that "requires" two screens.

    I didn’t know my MX3 could support gestures. I guess it needs software, though, since it doesn’t work out of the box.
    By the way, a metal stand with elevation provides the proper viewing angle, it should be at a 90-degree angle to keep your neck straight and reduce extra strain.
    I’d also suggest adding a few standalone USB Type-A to Type-C adapters they’re pretty cheap and come in handy from time to time.

In the past I’ve tried with my other Laptop (Dell XPS) and it didn’t work but I just recently got the 24 MacBook Pro M4 chip. Love your Kittery Trading Post shirt! I'm in northeast MA so I'm in Kittery a lot!
    I have an older Macbook Pro 14" (2021) and I've been wanting another charger to have for my office / on the go. The Volta looks awesome, but I have no idea what a thunderbolt cable/port is -- maybe that's not something my wicked old (sarcasm) 2021 Macbook has. ? I really want a second screen for my office too, but I don't have a great set up, nor do I know how to do that.
    Do you know if that portable charger thingy would work with an end-to-end USB-C cable/port?
    Another question -- your external harddrive -- how's that work with Time Machine? My external HD is a Seacoast (1 TB) and huge compared to yours -- definitely not something I can take with me!
    I've needed lots of USB to USB-C adapters, too, since my 2021 has only USB-C ports, and 1 HDMI port (and the charging port, as well, durr).
    Great video! Thank you for any help/guidance you or anyone else can offer!

    • @chettystudios
      @chettystudios  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey thanks! Thunderbolt is just another name for the USBC port on your laptop. Not all USBC's are thunderbolt, but all thunderbolt's are USBC. The name is just a way to differentiate between high bandwidth (thunderbolt) vs lower bandwidth (regular usbc) ports. Your 2021 MacBook Pro is equipped with thunderbolt 4, so yes, you have thunderbolt ports! A portable charger would definitely work to charge via these ports with a usbc to usbc cable, Anker is another brand that offers a ton of different options if you're looking for something smaller/bigger/cheaper/etc.
      As for Time Machine, I haven't used it yet so I'm not quite sure how it works, personally I use a really bulky 8TB hard drive that sits in my office to dump all my old files on.
      And as far as displays go, I would look up some reviews of displays that work well with Mac. Currently I'm using my TV as a display but there are some great monitors out there that integrate well with Mac if that's mainly what you're looking to use it for!

    • @EmptikBestM
      @EmptikBestM หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Any external hard drive or SSD will work with Time Machine, just make sure it has at least 2x the space of your MacBook Pro internal SSD (recommended by apple). I personally use a 2TB T7 Shield SSD with my 2024 14-inch MBP (m4 max) which has 1TB of storage.. It takes hourly backups for the last day, daily backups for the last week, weekly backups for the last month, and monthly backups for the last year (I think), though that all can be configured. Hope this helps

    Yeah 2 things I will mention right off at the beginning
    Do you know Windows Hello? Yeah like face recognition?
    Why the f do we need the frickin camera notch on every Macbook where we only have a camera there?
