The good ol' GP40PH-2. I remember seeing this very unit around in northern New Jersey before NJT sold it. They still have more on their roster, but for how long I don't know.
@@brianhickey5949 Wikipedia has an article titled "EMD GP40-based passenger locomotives" which goes into train nerd level details lol. The simple Cliff Notes version: some were repowered former freight units with additional HEP generators installed and new prime movers, others were a EMD / GMD factory offering.
The GP40 series stuff is nice and foamerrific lol. Once upon a time MARC had F and E units too. And NJT had EMD F, E units, GP9s and GE U34CHs. As Archie Bunker said..."those were the days" lol.
Me Mom and Nana rode a Atlantic City Railline in 1999 because we miss the 554 bus to Atlantic City and i rode it during the Covid time in 2020 back to Atlantic City once
Fun for me to see, thanks. I went to Frederick on that route from D.C. on August 4 2006 when it was quite new. Next stop was Ashburn, Va. via $75 taxi ride...just a type of stunt. Anyway, any chance they've added some mid-day turns on that route?

I really liked the doppler effect on the horn and how it seemed to go up a tune. Great catch!
I love seeing the old power still being utilized. Great filming B&O.
Brings back memories! I grew up living by the tracks.
That GP40 is bad ass !!! Fantastic footage today...
Here she comes! Love it from Darlington classic rail town 🇬🇧
I’m glad to see 4145 in service still. Thank you Marc for taking good care of it
Me too!
Straight up awesome. Didn’t know NJT sold unit(s) to MARC. Trivia bit, NJT doesn’t have flashing ditch lights, that’s likely a MARC modification.
4145 had flashing ditchlights on NJT too
@@mediumclearproductions7444 got proof?
@@chrisperry1151 There's videos of it on NJT with flashing ditchlights
@@mediumclearproductions7444 I doubt it, but you seem to have better information than me. NJT trains do not use flashing ditch lights.
Yes! Beautiful locomotive. Glad I saw it in Frederick
Me too!
So wonderful images of the train! Like from Mallorca Spain

Yup, all the new fancy locomotives are just boring and sound like vacuum cleaners lol. Save the Geeps.
Convenient that MARC uses similar colors to NJT!

It is unusual to see the freight locomotive driving the passenger train. They used to do it all the time years ago. Very cool stuff!
Bruh, a GP40PH-2 is a passenger locomotive.
@@Enjoyer.762 I stand corrected - ignore my comment.

Just like GP40WH-2 #68, MARC #4145 is also used for non-revenue work trains and rescue service.

Not a fan of the "repaint" but nice catch of this somewhat rare locomotive.
It was not repainted. The NJ logos were removed and Marc logos added. Some of the paint was touch up. Still in NJ colors.
