      And then when she became conscious again, her face was not horror, but sheer awe in the feat that he had just pulled off while she couldn't stay conscious.
      It's funny, I'm surprised she even asked "manually?" When planning for the gargantua gravity assist. I thought she would comment something like "I know better than to question your piloting skills"

    • @pilotavery
      @pilotavery 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@johnnymaublanc9746 well most people would have said it's not possible. In the original script, you could just start to see some plasma forming and the red-hot glow from reentry. And what was happening was, the wind buffeting was warping the docking port back and forth and tars was trying to time it correctly to get it to slide in and he missed it and got an imperfect lock and had to do it again a couple times until he managed to get a lock.
      to be fair, most people would have said this was impossible as well, and tarz had experience that would have told him that it was impossible, or not something that a human had the skill to do, or that it was so improbable that because of his 90% honesty setting, he didn't say that it was extremely unlikely and he didn't believe that Cooper was skilled enough to pull it off, but instead just shortened it to it's impossible.

      First time I went to world of Hans Zimmer, I practically sobbed all the way through it. Been an avid listener of his music since Gladiator came out, but hearing it live, played by an orchestra is as if I've been deaf my whole life, as if a blind man sees 4K for the first time.
      I was blown away in awe, suddenly the music becomes spatial, tangible alive, as if it had _soul_ of its own. I don't think I'll experience that ever again...

    Every hour on Miller is about 7 years on Earth. There are 3,600 seconds in an hour (and 86,400 seconds in a day x 365.25 days in a year x 7 years on Earth per hour on Miller, or roughly 221,000,000 seconds in 7 years). This gives us a conversion factor of 221,000,000/3,600 ≈ 61,400 seconds which pass on Earth for every second spent on Miller. Multiply this by the interval between each tick, and you get 77,000 Earth seconds, about 21 hours. So, each tick you hear is a whole day passing on Earth.”
