@@ShaneMorgan they were kinda like a dance crew at first and since they were able to sing and rap they started to train for their debut. Hinata is the only one who doesn’t have neither vocal or real rap skills, but they let her join. Now after a while ig she’ll be able to handle more line but simple one so she can be comfortable

They are under AVEX, which is a big Japanese music label that has been the center of J-pop industry, and produced artists like Ayumi Hamasaki. Another piece of info to understand J-pop: J-pop didn’t really needed to export abroad like K-pop cuz the domestic market was big enough to profit, meaning their music style has only followed domestic trends (which led to some creative music like Perfume and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu). The problem is big labels like Avex didn’t even allow their MVs to be played by other countries by limiting license etc.. BUT with XG they decided to finally open to the world.
