  • Some of the latest sail designs lose the cables. These revolutionary cable-less load-sharing technologies have been trickling down to more and more boats. Now available for these sails, the Harken Reflex Furler can be a potent weapon. Rigged cable-free, Reflex features a tack plate sewn into the sail that slides into the Reflex drive unit. This allows a variety of reaching and broad-reaching sails to be used with the same drive unit while also maximizing the sailsʼ luff length. Apart from the major performance boost, when deployed with these revolutionary sails, Reflex delivers easier sail handling and stowage.
Teamed up, these major advances in sails and furling enable sails to be deployed and struck strategically -- even for just minutes at a time. They work more efficiently with much less load on the boat and rig while remaining easy to furl by hand.

Can you please tell us how strong were the winds when you furled it several times without a problem (and what size of a yacht)? I see that this is a bottom up fuller, right?

no affiliation to harken but some experience with the system, the boat was a j-145 so around 48ft long plus the 9ft sprit. you usually can furl it fairly easily in up to 12-15 kts on the upper end
