Hey great video haha. I literally just bought these cars as CASUAL daily’s that’s why I wasn’t filming any of them when they broke. Like I literally didn’t abuse them one bit lol. I only filmed it out of frustration that 2 cars with newer engine builds both broke catastrophically. But I will be getting an R34 to legitimately test out as soon as I find one lol.
That intro was legendary… But what Tommy is saying couldn’t be more on point, especially about the cheap cars. I had a 1995 Camaro with the LT1 (the undesired motor). Car had a built 383 stroker in there before it came to me, but it had been sitting in a yard for almost 8 years before I was able to get it running again, in that time, the already shit rattlecan paint job completely wore out, the floor pan was literally held on by the carpet on top of it, and in general there was hella rust. It doesn’t matter how fast the car is if it isn’t in good condition. That camaro made almost 500whp, but it was no good in the end of the day.
He definitely should have someone go look at cars with him, especially a car where you have to use both feet to put in the clutch and it immediately stalls out. Should have been a sign, I hope he brings the car(s) to you guys.
WD is a scripted shock factor, automotive entertainer, not really a motorsports enthusiast. I wouldn't be surprised if he bought those cars broken in the first place just to make a quick video, but who knows.

This is why I watch Tommy Fyeah. As a guitarist with a lifelong obsession for Fender offsets (Mustangs ((not the car)), Jaguars ((again, not the car)), and Jazzmasters) I relate to Mr. Fyeah, and feel a kindred spirit when it comes to his dedication to a niche market that most of the world knows nothing about. I also love JDM cars, and would love to own just one of the boosted awd 90's classics, but for now I will forge on with vintage Fender guitars, as they are 1000% less expensive than R32-34 GTRs, and a 60 year old guitar requires 1,000,000% less maintenance than a 30 year old JDM car.

The fact those halwits think you should be able to hit a cam on a rock and not snap it is a worry. You can snap them by not bolting the cam caps down evenly which is probably what happened with that one.
Great reaction video! I cannot comment on anything JDM but, as a mechanical engineer with some metallurgical background and also an auto enthusiast, those cams should NOT have busted like that when tapped on a rock. Granted you are correct that cam arent designed to take forces in that nature, I can tell you they wouldnt have lasted in any situation a brittle as they were. It looks like they werent heat treated or cooled properly after casting.

Bought my GTR in Okinawa and have spent the last 10 years restoring it. Mine is very stock. It’s been very reliable. It broke once when the original 27 year old alternator went bad. Keep them maintained and they will work fine.

Toyota Camry was traveling 80mph on the interstate; when it blows transmission hose, causing it to go in neutral. Instantly over reving engine, dropping a connecting rod bolt that shot out the oil pan. So all the oil and transmission fluid poured all over the exhaust and started a fire.
Granted regardless what kind of car it is I always take care of my stuff. BUT There are a lot of people that would just beat on their stuff over and over and over even if it's a collectible car because they say that it's theirs. An within all my years I RARELY see someone take care of what they own... So I'm not shocked

Something on the install side didn’t go properly. Over torqued. Too much tension on cams etc etc
