Yeah, you got her running pretty good. Makes me not feel quite as bad with my wiring on my Massey Ferguson 65, but my dad's old Bobcat, now that's another story, not my fault! Good one Ross, enjoyed watching, have a good night!
There is supposed to be a dust cover under the distributor cap above the points and condenser. However that dust cover is not necessary for the engine to run. My grandfather bought a new 1952 8N Ford in the spring of 1953. The all new larger Jubilee model was available by then, so grandfather got the new 8N at a greatly discounted price. We still have that old 8N but it started missing and running rough about 10 years ago so dad parked it in the barn where it still sits. Someday hopefully I drag it out and get it running again.
Mr Ross don't take this the wrong way I love your shows it just come to me I think it would be a big hit if you could take all your videos and you a audio book I just love to way you narration of things.❤
Them stupid scotch locks. Had one on the car crusher one time. Couldn’t figure out why it would run for a bit and shut off. Turns out it was that. Damn thing would hot in the connector blades and would short out. Once I got that damn thing out of there it ran fine. Good video Ross
That’s what happened with my 1250 gas, when I got it the engine was running at about 3,800 rpm. So, I adjusted it down to the rated rpm and it seemed ok, then I took it to the National Oliver show in Boonville, put it on the dyno and it was only cranking out 15 horses😂 Turns out that the governor is pretty worn out, and I’m not sure where I’m going to get another one.
I've got a D-17 with wiring that resembles that, and probably worse. I am not much of an electrician. Stupid thing runs like a top when everything is right but that is a fleeting thing.
i love my 8n named freddy ive got another 8n named charles and a 2n named bert all 3 were rescued from yard art ive got a combo sherman i paid $350 for replaced a shift fork bolt in and am gonna put in freddy
😊😊 HI ROSS IVE seen points like that be 4 U would sand and sand them they still wouldn't do nothing still had 2 put a new set of points in 😮😮 OMG 1O 17 2O24
That's a bunch of wiring sadness there. You are used to Fiat sadness so I believe you will have this fixed up in no time. Those N Fords are pretty handy though.
this one was hard to watch ross i did probably 10 wire harnesses in the last year for these tractors and this one was probably the most *bleeped* up wire harness ive seen looks like a cheap china carb too ive only ever gotten them to run with the cheap junk carbs without half choke
Old Henry Ford is smiling in his grave. Be careful as Henry was a real donkey when it came to people doing great. He went on one of his world tours and when he came back his son Edsel had built a new casting unit. Henry said great Job, but that evening ordered it torn down. When he and his family wanted to go to their picnic spot across the river, someone in his staff would call the Dam and have them close the gates. When the river stopped and the water dropped Henry would drive his family across the river on the concrete road that crossed the river. His house had self-generated power if needed but the generator was powered by a Chevrolet motor. When he bought Lincoln from Leyland he agreed to keep Leyland's sons on at the plant. Henry had the keys changed so the Leylands could not get in.
Well, that was encouraging getting it from dead in the water to sporadically alive. With a little TLC and some subdued animal sounds it'll be going again.
After a long day it’s a real joy to relax and watch whatever you care to share. Thank you
If they go on a tractor drive with it the first tractor they can get rid of the mosquitoes for everybody else😂😂😂
What a nice little 8N. Thanks!
old timer here, wipe the sand off your points with a dollar bill, if you don't have a dollar bill you can use a hundred dollar bill.
Buddy the dog blends into the drive way so perfectly. thats to funny. at the start of the video.
That thing smoked like Diddy when he runs out of baby oil!
Ross, I don't think you'd want to be behind that tractor on a tractor drive especially if it continued smoking like that 🤣🤣 thanks Michael
You smoke like the woman who works down at the truck stop!! LMAO
Buddy!!!
Yep feeble mind no doubt about it!
Variety is the spice of life . Great video Ross , see ya tomorrow

Never thought about using a wire tool as a wrench 😂😂
great video i think with a little of ross know how you will have it running great😊
Good video Ross. You got the old ford running good again. Like it hasn't missed the last three years. Great job.
oh that's a professional solenoid install if I ever saw one!

Are you talking about the lot lizard at the truck stop??
Ross must be combining, the bin fan is running.
Great Video I get to be learned how to re-wire I'm terrible when it comes to wires and electricity
Nice job
My father bought a ford 8n in 1949 i still have the bill of sale
I'm glad that nightmare is not mine!
You will make it a runner!!

wow, that's where the coil is? oh yeah, that'll never get hot
First thing I ever drove
Hell yeah !
Nice job ..
Great job Ross
Decent old 8n Ford. Not bad for 1951 model. You got good steering and side mount distributor. Makes it a little easier to work on.
Great job. Sounds great. See you later.
Your cattle are typical , you are the feed wagon!

I wouldn't bypass the safety of the push button.

Out of curiosity does the hydraulics on the 1365s supposed to have a pressure relief valve?
i love my 8n named freddy ive got another 8n named charles and a 2n named bert all 3 were rescued from yard art ive got a combo sherman i paid $350 for replaced a shift fork bolt in and am gonna put in freddy

Definitely much sadness to repair
Ross, where do you order your parts from AGCO?
That's a bunch of wiring sadness there. You are used to Fiat sadness so I believe you will have this fixed up in no time. Those N Fords are pretty handy though.
YOU HAVE ENOUGH WIRE THERE TO USE SOME OF IT FOR A SEAT BELT
👍👍👍👍👍
I thought only the 1952 was the one that had tachometer
Just like coding, much more fun to improve something that is working than try to rebuild and hope

You don't need a silnoid with push buttons
Puede ser el condensador
