So ever since I’ve watched this video, I have wondered why not go to your original door switches. I started installing my steps last night and tested this to see if the original door switch will work and it has worked like a charm so you don’t have to drill any unnecessary holes or anything else to make the steps go up-and-down.
Well, I didn’t take mine out. I just push the wires through the back side and found the wire that I needed and tapped into it.. I definitely wasn’t going to attempt to take it out of the door lol
Just let your brother know, now he will save on grabbing/holding onto the door as he gets in, saving his door hinges (the front of the door/hinge area and a-pillar frame can sometimes deflect doing this as well.)
Short is a massive understatement you are negative height if anything
A mechanic's hammer is what you want to use, not a claw hammer. That's for carpentry. 😢😂 Remember you can do anything with the right tool.
The weather looks perfect for such a project at the great outdoors. But gaining knowledge through your videos 📹
It couldn’t have been any nicer than it was.

I couldn’t get mine out without breaking them 🤷🏻♂️. Just went with the same method on this truck. Didn’t think to try again.

@@markcoffey2558 I fished for the wires for the longest time but was never able to find em 🤷🏻♂️
Did you just connect the purple wire to the tan wire? Mines goes up a stays up, an then down and doesn’t go up.
