The father of Henry VII was not Owen Tudor as stated at 6:13; but was Edmund Tudor.
Correct. I feel like this is a very obvious detail that isn't difficult to find. Owen married Catherine of Valois, the widow of Henry V. They popped out 3 kids and Edmund, the father of Henry VII, was one of them.
That's true. Although by today's legal standards, Edmund Tudor committed statutory rape against Margaret Beaufort due to her being only 13 when she gave birth to Henry7th. The labor was so traumatic to her body that she was unable to have any more children, so he kind of screwed himself out of future heirs by being with a literal child.
You are right. Maybe is was a mistake, but something that huge causes me to lose enthusism for the entire film. Someone should have caught it.

I understand that Henry VIII thought he really loved Jane Seymour, but he felt that way about Catherine of Aragon, having no other when he was urged to find a new bride. He felt the same way about Anne Boleyn, forsaking his religion to have her & a male heir. He seemed too egotistical and liked those thunderbolt desire & lust moments, but only really loving himself. If Jane Seymour had lived, he would have gotten bored & started up with his mistresses again. One thing I doubt he would have done, was to have her removed in some way (divorce or annulment) as she provided a legit male heir for him.

Owen Tudor was husband to widowed Catherine of Valois NOT Margaret Beaufort. Henry VII was the son of Margaret Beaufort and Edmund Tudor. So Owen was his grandfather, not his Father. Otherwise, i enjoyed this recap of the major players in the Tudor dynasty!

19:05 I literally asked a senior Rabbi well versed in Rabbinical Old Testament laws if Henry’s marriage predicament was true some time ago. His answer was that the marriage would only be considered illegal and sinful IF his older brother was still living. However, in the case of Arthur being deceased before a legitimate heir could be conceived, it would be the duty of Henry as the surviving brother to marry Catherine and conceive that first heir, and by God’s law that child would be the inheritor of that first marriage. Any other children created after this first child would solely be theirs and their union pleasing to God.
Yes, that sounds long winded, but the curse in Leviticus would only hold true if say Arthur divorced Catherine and Henry decided to marry her. Arthur would be alive, and so the marriage would be considered “incestuous.”
This makes more sense than anything I have heard proposed.

He seperated the church so he could have his way. He didn't like that the KING had to listen to the pope/anybody. He wanted to be the man at the top and only listen to God.

Henry remained a Catholic throughout his life, all he did was to remove the Pope and make himself head of the Catholic Church in England. His son Edward 6 was the first Protestant King of England

Things might have gone differently if Henry had quit jousting after marrying Anne Boleyn. His jousting accident caused him a leg ulcer and brain damage.
Absolutely. His ulcer was just so debilitating after the accident. He was never quite the same.

How could they have known Anne was fertile? Outside of her youth, there was no way of knowing that.
They knew she was having regular periods. Whereas, the Queen Catharine was not.Catherine was older, and was having symptoms of peri-menopause.

Edmund Tudor was his father.

I always get confused because he didnt kill King Richard 111 Rhys AP Thomas killed him but in some stories it says Henry Tudor comitted the blows that killed him

This is wonderful...I am the 11th great granddaughter of Anne Boleyn's father's father....and a direct descendent of Anne Boleyn's cousin, Lady Margaret Shelton.What I dislike is how today's casting directors carelessly allow the actors to keep their "modern" day hairstyles....with stupid little braids and clean shaven beards...NOT VERY REALISTIC! "Anne of the Thousand Days" portrayed the characters perfectly. Someone needs to do some research...study their portraits. Accuracy is quite relevant.
"So incredibly good-looking"! From the evidence given, I feel a lot of people would disagree. Looks are subjective after all, and from what we have seen from portraits and such, he was average. Tall for the time yes, which, unfortunately, is seen as "handsome"! But Im sure there were others more handsome. But then we are talking about the monarchy in this context, so yes, he was one of the less inbred ones at that time. i.e. Habsburg Jaw!
Supposedly, he was very, very handsome before the accident. Once his leg and brain were messed up he became a large unhealthy man.
