Colin Hanlon is just so talented. Even in I Love You Because...he's just so..hmm..I can't even find a word to describe his talent. He truly captures the character's emotions and portrays it so well. Someone please give this man a Broadway show!
Great performance. Not too overdone and really good vocals too. Also, props to whoever shot this, I love how it zooms out to show the teacher/father. :D
Also, in this version, they have the verse about the graduation, where in Aaron's version he sings a more random list about his "offenses." Both are great, though!
yeah the music featured in this show isnt the exact music that appears in the current licensed edition, like coasting has been drastically changed. but only a couple of the songs have been changed
I love you because is a musical starring Colin Hanlon (from this vid) Farah Alvin (The Marvelous Wonderettes) and Stephanie d'Abruzzo (Avenue Q) It's a fun, upbeat musical with some amazing songs!
Also, I think the composers are still tweaking these songs. I heard one version of "Part of a Painting" from the show on the demo CD, loved it, ordered the music on-line just to discover the second verse had been changed.
Oh my god! The audience laughed when it got serious! It made me cringe! Anyway, I do prefer the alternate lyrics, but this is a wonderful performance. The "what if I start to need him and he goes away" line always gets me.
Hi I wanted to do this song for a showcase my School is having but I can't find a Instrumental/Karaoke version of this song is there any way you can or can direct me to a place where I can get the instrumental it would be greatly appreciated
The lyrics in Aaron Tveits version work so much better in my opinion I think theres more room to play the comedy in them which I think contrasts the ending better than with these new lyrics..
He has a great voice and it's a really good performance and I know it's nothing to do with him but in terms of the song I hate the lyric change- for me it just doesn't work at all such a shame that the lyrics were re written, Aaron Tveit's version will always be better in my opinion
Every time I hear this, I tear up. It has the perfect balance of humor, dramatics, and honesty that any good story should possess. Well written.
i am completely in love. for real though. this song makes me completely burs into tears. how moving and heartfelt. and relatable. i'm so careless.
The best performance of this song I have seen. Wow. He is fantastic!
Great voice, great performance, lovely song!

aaahhhh awesome! I keep watching this movie, I can't stop! It's so good!!! I love his acting, and his voice. Just... so good.
Hahah i have never heard the 2nd verse before thank you!
awesome!
Great performance. Not too overdone and really good vocals too. Also, props to whoever shot this, I love how it zooms out to show the teacher/father. :D
Really good! loved this version and your voice is wonderful!

Both are great, though!
This guy was awesome on Modern Family. He's got great comedic timing. :)
I like both his and Aaron's versions. The song is great lyrically both ways! And both are very talented
He has a great voice!!!
Fun song well done, and nice to see Colin Hanlon, whom I know only from SUBMISSIONS ONLY (when do we get the new season?!).
This is an actual performance where Aaron is singing it cabaret style. That is why the performances are vastly different
I Love this guy!!! Who is he?!

Colin Hanlon. He's great. If you want to hear him on a more commercial recording, he's on I love You Because.
I like his interpretation the best
Also, I think the composers are still tweaking these songs. I heard one version of "Part of a Painting" from the show on the demo CD, loved it, ordered the music on-line just to discover the second verse had been changed.
Where did you get the instrumental? Please ?
does edges have a continuous storyline or is it just a bunch of songs about growing up strung together?
I love this second verse. is this, or Aaron's version the official/up-to-date version?
Oh my god! The audience laughed when it got serious! It made me cringe! Anyway, I do prefer the alternate lyrics, but this is a wonderful performance. The "what if I start to need him and he goes away" line always gets me.

When they make The Hangover: The Musical, this guy will be Bradley Cooper.
Great performance
Where do I get the Sheet Music for this Specific song? =)
He looks so much like mr shue in that shirt
Lyrically... it's different. But I get what you were getting at. :D
When was this performed??
Colin Hanlon is a beautiful man.
The lyrics in Aaron Tveits version work so much better in my opinion I think theres more room to play the comedy in them which I think contrasts the ending better than with these new lyrics..
Just a bit part. One half of a gay couple that was buying a house from Phil, I think. The episode was 'Aunt Mommy'.
Oh, hello Colin Hanlon.
Great performance, but the guy is so hot I could even watch this with the sound off.
I like this version,but I think I love Aaron Tveit's version better!
