Christine's humor " I had already been in the band as a lady.. "😅 she was so clever and funny naturally.. Fleetwood Mac is one of the classiest rock bands of all time. One of the best rock n roll bands of all time.😊 legendary. Three things that stand out for me:

Unfortunately, Lindsey and Stevie had already broken up and Lindsey was already involved with Carol Ann Harris. This was an interview and so they would certainly project cohesion and harmony but Lindsey kept his distance from Stevie outside of the band. Stevie herself was already involved with Don Henley (Eagles).

The rythm section - the drums and the bass - is also a significant part of what make Fleetwood Mac a great band. Mick Fleetwood does an excellent job always, and John McVie is a top notch bassist - they both make the very solid foundation which on Lindsey, Christine and Stevie can display their brilliance. Lindsey is very generous here. They weren't both invited to join - just Lindsey. But Lindsey insisted they came as a package deal....thankfully.

And Australia loved them. I recall that Australia really ‘got’ that particular type of American music of the 1970’s. We seemed to share a lifestyle that reflected in music by The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac. They were very popular.

Huge historical musical synchronicity that they met up at sound City... Would love to have been at their first dinner meet at a small Mexican restaurant around Van nuys.

Knowing what we know now about the affairs, couples splitting up, tc i have tosay this is probably the most professional group ever. You know there had to be fighting and arguments but apparently they were mature enough to keep working and working well together. Its really quite impressive.

Such different times. Kids grew up very resilient. Manners & kindness were important values. The teasing was relentless & often really funny. That was an era of a plethora of long lasting 4:38 bands bc we’d earned skills of compromise, diplomacy etc. Tough skin. Solo acts now. Very few bands. Certainly none the caliber of them. Everyone’s so touchy. Triggered. Self absorbed.

Amazing time for the group really getting going (this is pre Rumours I guess?)...Of course, LOVE Christine's reply back there on "women in the band" Lol! And THAT look Stevie gives to Lindsey raising her eyebrows at 1:15 is so darned adorable. Good stuff, thanks for the vid and as always ROCK the funk ON 😎🤘🔥🤘

I wondered about the timing too. Rumours was released on 4 February 1977, but he's not asking them about it in this clip, he's asking them about the history of the band. Maybe the album had just come out and was yet to acquire its classic status? But my understanding was that it hit big very quickly.

Agree Lindsey was an amazing addition and is an amazing guitarist. His figer-style picking, chords and solos were perfect for every song. There's a ton of shredders out there, some great some not, but no other guitarist makes me feel the way Lindsey does. The guitar part he played in Dreams sounds like nothing else and evokes as much feeling as Stevie's singing.

A very different band peter green was a genius and an incredible guitar player. So was Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer The blues stuff is good but the post acid stuff is other worldly an completely unique. Love Lindsay and that whole era too.

I like Christine’s knowledge and how to respond to misogynistic questions. Yes woman can compose and yes they are excellent rock artist and you let them be there could be even mot me rock. Just check out bands like paramount , the pretty reckless now a days female lead singers. This band is truly incredible.

I definitely agree with you on that Michael Berthelot. Lindsey was a main cog force in the machinery. No question about it. I didn't mean that Christine & Stevie were the be all do all end all. To me if anyone of them aren't in the group then it's not a pure Fleetwood Mac.
