Glad you made a Kleber vid. I just unlocked it recently. I think the advice you gave regarding the detection circle to determine where the enemy destroyed was is crucial for newer players to understand. This also works well for cruisers and battleships that are approaching or contesting caps. As long as your detection circle keeps out of range from the enemies side of the cap, you're unlikely to be spotted, but only if caps are not being contested, or if an enemy destroyed goes between two caps into your detection range. It really need a dedicated video to explain all the nuances. Who would make that video, Xarkun ?🤔 Your video content is much appreciated.🫡
Same. I have no idea why it was nerfed in the first place, especially with the proliferation of Shimakazes at the tier. Even then, I feel reducing the torp range from 8km to 6km was way too much. Maybe a reduction to 7.5km and a small adjustion to torp reload, detectability, or damage would have been fine.
@HarmfulDesign it got nerfed because it had a high skill ceiling with even higher rewards. The guys that were playing them were considerably better than the average Shima players and skewed WG's numbers making it look way OP.
I don't agree with Xarkun that the Kleber is one of the best if not the best DD at Legendary Tier...i think that title belongs to the Daring or perhaps the Z-52 right now, but not the Kleber, especially since that infamous nerf by Wargaming which effectively nerfed the Kleber from the Legendary Rock Star it once was, into the New Age Jazz musician it became roughly 3 years ago, which is fantastic if you like elevator music. Granted, it's my opinion that the Kleber has a higher skill requirement than its contemporaries, and I can freely admit that Xarkun's abilities thoroughly out rank mine, hence he can say that he thinks the Kleber is better if not the best DD at Legendary Tier, because he's more than capable of playing it that way, of which I must give him the well-earned credit that he deserves for being able to do that at a higher level in the first place. Am I jealous a wee bit? Yes. Which is why the day shall come when Xarkun and myself will settle this with a lightsaber duel, but until that day arrives.... I'd much rather have smoke and at least 8 km's on my torpeedies, but that's just me. 😜
Great match, sir. I call this ship the Kraken printer (I believe i got that nickname from Meta) and my personal opinion is that the nerf did nothing except make it a ship for skilled players only. I don't play it anymore because it's too easy to do well in. I prefer to torture myself in Halland.
The Friesland has good AA, but there’s no CV in the match. I’ve played a lot of matches this week and very few have had CVs at all. People are apparently already bored of them.
@@Xarkun I do. If you slow down that video to half-speed, that Stalingrad was tracking a flock of low flying Canadian Geese. It fired at the battleship because it was impeding their directive route therein as it were. I would have done the very same thing had I been charged with the welfare of those geese...I'm happy to announce that all of them arrived safely in New Foundland & Labrador to begin their studies in Forensic Distilling and Deep Sea Marketing.
I've been using this ship for hunting CVs. I can usually kill it before the 10 minute mark. I'm 5 for 5 games with this strategy. Top of the team each time. Such a good ship, shame about the torp range and Go All out nerf. Now that there are more radar cruisers and such, maybe they will revert the nerfs . . . ?
I just hit my personal best damage at 243k a couple weeks ago. Although it was more torpedo hits, just one of those games where it was 1 DD per team and mostly BB’s huddled together, flood after flood. However, after eating your Vid, might change my Inspirations up a bit, try your out.
I think Louis Violette as captain fits very well with this ship line, but I am not satisfied with the selectable skills in the 4th row. I wish you could select the “armored weapons” skill there. Furthermore, i wonder why this DD line is not given the consumable “improved air defense” after a certain tech level? That would make a lot of sense for DDs without fog.

Oh. Did my entire flank die except for me and you were the Des Moines chasing me while I was shooting at you? Yeah. I remember that one. I think I whittled your HP down a lot and did some dodging but I couldn’t sink you, so I never could secure that flank and the rest of my team perished. Gg
@@Xarkun yea it was me and a Shima I didn't realize it got a nerf or I wouldn't have pushed so hard but you almost got us both I went in with about half health and 2 Heals and used both with about 5k left
interesting how it's a GG well done when a dd gets an insane amount of damage done and high xp but it's whining time when a cv gets the same result (not biased although i enjoy cv's) and yes i know the argument "but it takes skill and puts your ship in danger but a cv can hang back". yes a cv can hang back but to be truly effective in a cv you have to move ur cv up to the fighting to be right outside ur detection range and a spotted cv is a dead cv whereas a dd (most) can plop up a smokescreen to disengage.
So am I, which is why I don’t play it often. But I managed a lot of successful gunboating here. A lot of torpedoes too, but still. 11 fires from the guns.
I hate pluggers & afk players. Both wasting ppl time. Plugging shouldnt be allowed(even in fighting/race games), and afk in the beginning match should get the countdown auto boot/self-destruct.

Probably not. I think the nerfs are here to say. The ship can still perform well

Why do you use both Quick Fix and Unstoppable?

Kleber is a great ship from what I heard but there's nothing satisfying than throwing out 15 different and difficult problems at the enemy. Lol

Sort of does. The one I’m using. But he doesn’t do anything to buff the DPM like most of the other gunboat dd commanders.

Use universal commander, 6% he dmg passive,2% fire chance, conceal/speed, 5% reload, and some range
I feel if they just gave Kleber 1km more base range on the guns it would feel so much better
I agree. I wish it had more gun range. I was using Rumble previously for more, but I dropped him and went with the epic mod.

Kleber is strong but you need a game like this. French DDs are very weak in the carrier era no smoke no AA.
