It took me ten hours to get off of Taris the first time I played because I explored literally everything at least five times... The second time I played I was able to get off of Taris in 5 hours. In other words, I am bad at this game.
It's actually the result of a graphical problem that I had on my own computer. I had to quick save after every battle and load that quick save so I could move again.
yeah considering its a bioware game i wouldve spent a long time but i dont have the heart to try it for the first time since its so damn old now and star wars is a joke with disney

Three years late but information for anybody else that wants to play this game: it will freeze your character after battle often if over 60fps. it doesn't like running over 60fps. So enable vsync. also as monitors running over 60fps is common these days you have to limit the framerate in some way. So you either set the game to 60 hertz in the resolution or if you're using a widescreen hack and set it to your monitor's native resolution& refresh, you'll have to use some program to limit the frame rate. I used Nvidia profile inspector.

After 16 years of playing this game I think my best run with doing all quests was like 12 hours. My first ever time playing I'm pretty it ended up at like 80 or 90 hours because I was young and stupid and couldn't figure certain areas out or could beat enemies. And thus guys beats it so quick
Several years back, when I was playing a darkside run of KOTOR on the original xbox I remember walking towards the end of one of the walkways (right before you fight Bastila, or in this case a group of dark jedi, like at 1:44:44) only for the screen to go black and I find myself in the last room with Malak... and my current party still with me. I have no idea what might've brought that about. Does anyone know about it? Again, it was a while back and I didn't know what to make of it (I didn't know about speed running either at the time), so I don't have anything to verify with. There was that, and some other glitch where my character model was permanently replaced with the Sith Trooper armor model (I believe it happened right after you trade the sith armor with Gadon). This became hilarious during Revan's unmasking, as there was literally nothing behind it.
One glitch happened to me where juhani ran into a Sith Lord during cut scene and they both got kinda stuck together, they were fighting each other but they were just standing there and twitching.
This almost looks like one of those games that, over time, will have more and more glitches be revealed resulting in massive time saves. Obviously nothing like Ocarina, but still.
The time certainly has come down over the years, considering that the first couple of segmented runs were over 3 hours. We (Indykenobi, myself, and a few others) have also improved the run by about 40 minutes over the last year.

I've bought this game on three different occasions and each one has had that "lock in combat movement" glitch. No idea why it happens, no idea what is going on. Bought on steam, Gog, and I have the actual physical CD. Each version has that glitch.

Hey, did anybody else have the glitch where you get 2 Zaalbars? I'm not sure how it happened exactly, but during one of my playthroughs I suddenly had double Zaalbars and it stayed like that for the rest of the game. It was kind of awesome actually, I remember really enjoying it.
Yeah. I had that and every time I returned to the Ebon Hawk there was another Zaalbar. I don't remember exactly how to do it, but last time I played this game I had it figured out. I did 3 runs in a row as a dual blaster jedi. Anyway, on that one run I had like 15 Zaalbars on the ship and was able to run around with 2.
turn off fullscreen and enable windowed mode in the .ini, set FrameBuffer and SoftShadows to =0, disable vsync and set the .exe to run in compatibility mode for XP SP3
I've experienced a glitch on this game several times where it would automatically skip through conversations in the blink of an eye without me doing anything. I need to figure out how to recreate that because it would be great for speedrunning.
We've come to call that glitch Fast Text. As far as we've been able to determine, it's related to the memory leak inherent to saving the game (it's also a bit hardware dependent). Once the amount of leaked memory becomes large enough, the dialog just skips by itself. Unfortunately, if the leak becomes too big the game will crash.
Realize this is a old video, but on the last fight with Malak if you start dropping mines right when you get in then activate the fight, Malak will run through them and instantly die. GG
There's another way to keep the sith uniform but you can't sell it. Before you trade it to Gadon, have carth wear it and don't bring him as your party member.

I decided to try that level up glitch on xbox but every time i do it works up to level 8 then it resets me back to level 4. It does save the points if i assign them on that level but otherwise it does nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated

That skip can be done in two ways. When Canderous takes you to Davik's Estate, you get a cutscene with Malak and Saul. After this CS loads, there's a small period of time where you can click one of the quick menu buttons at the top of the screen. You can then change your party to remove Canderous. Just don't return to the Hideout from here (you'll get stuck on Taris forever)! When you get to Davik's, his conversation will break and you can leave without fighting him and Calo. The other way to do it is by doing a save buffer right when you arrive at Davik's Estate. Quick save several times after Davik's Estate loads. Then load the quick save. If done correctly, the conversation with Davik will not start, which means you can leave without fighting.

I am using the Master Jedi Robes at the end. However, my character model got stuck as the Sith Armor because I wore it up until I encountered the Leviathan. I'm not exactly sure why this happens, but since you're not supposed to be able to have that armor past Taris, the game must not know what to do with it.

i fixed it with limiting fps to 59

I usually set my character name to canon. So when interacting with npc's, "I say, pleased to meet you." "my name is canon" screw you, Disney.

What it is is a total remake of knights of the old republic in unreal engine for and I can tell you it is absolutely gorgeous, anyone who loves kotor should show support by following on twitter and helping spread the word. The more support they have the more likely this is to become a thing so lets do this!

anyone know which armor is he using at the end of the run? :/
I am using the Master Jedi Robes at the end. However, my character model got stuck as the Sith Armor because I wore it up until I encountered the Leviathan. I'm not exactly sure why this happens, but since you're not supposed to be able to have that armor past Taris, the game must not know what to do with it.
