Grab a pedaltrain Nano, put one of these on top, add a dual sided overdrive and a micro fuzz and you can probably cover mostly any show and might even be able to fit all of this in the little add on bag that comes with a lot of gig bags. Amazing Product already!
What I really like about this is that I enjoy the spectacle and tactile experience of analog gear, but the optional convenience and endless possibilities of digital gear. I can use presets if I desire, or I can twist knobs for crazy delay and modulation real time adjustments, or I can do both! Perfect for this unit to have all the mod and time effects without the distortion and fuzzes, which many guitar players such as myself lack interest having in a multieffect. It really keeps the clutter out of menu based navigation. I am picky about those distortion sounds and I have the pedals/amps that I like, and I rarely touch them after they're set besides turning them off and on.
I love the Plethora X3 embroidery on the desk in front of Lars at 3:45-3:47 (ok, admitted, my wife made it - from the original font specifications of the fonts used in PX3 and PX5 :-) )

Would be a great self contained living room practice rig if it had a headphone jack. My wife laughs at me when I come downstairs with guitar, headphones, amp pedal (amp in a pedal) and three or four pedals and a wad of patch cables and power cables. I regret selling my Boss GT-100 when I'm plugging my "temp" rig together on the coffee table. LOL. Was hoping the Plethora would be like the GT-100 with a smaller footprint. Having typed all that, I will say TC Electronic has great platform cooking with the Plethora.

I have a TC Nova Modulation and I want to make a step fordward to a midi solution. The plethora X3 is still big for my pedalboard and I only need modulation. It would be great to have a recharged multimodulation in a X2 fx form factor or an equivalent solution of the Line6 M5.
I was looking for a multi-midulation solution to gain some space on my pedalboard. I bought the Joyo R9 Vision because it has 2 channels and costs nothing. Well, it's practical but sounds are not the most subtles. MOD 11 from EHX sounds good but has only one channel. Plethora X5 was to big for my board.... But now I open my YT and found this. It fits all my needs and it is NOT just a multi-modulation unit. I'm gonna spend a bit more but I'm sure it's the perfect solution for me.
This looks perfect for my live rig requirements. One question: does the tap tempo also work as the strumming the tempo like my flashback mini (I love this feature and it is super reliable)?
I am unfamiliar with the Tone Print app/editor. Is that available for newer iPhones? If so, I just found the answer to last minute fly gigs! I LOVE my G system after all these years, but it takes up a lot of space. The X-3 and a little Dunlop mini Cryaby would be a gift from God!

A setlist of 30 songs, each of them uses 3 completely independent presets, toggling back and force between them. Is that possible with the X3, without bowing down, just with the footswitches?
If you mean say Bank 1 is song 1, bank 2 is song 2 etc, it looks like pressing footswitch 1+2 banks down and 2+3 banks up, similar to strymon and boss 500 series i guess...theres arrows on the x3 that make me think thats possible...
You can go up and down boards, but not switch back and forth between 1 of 3 (unless you add a MIDI controller footswitch). So if your first song uses three independent presets, you can put them on boards 1, 2 and 3; then put song 2 on 4, 5 and 6 etc. Note that there is a gap when switching between different presets/boards (even if the board contains the same three pedals and toneprints, as they get reloaded with the new configuration values) of around 300ms (give or take) so if you are playing at 120bpm (two beats per second) you'll lose a little under one beat of music while switching .... so as long as you know it will take that time to load the new board, then you're fine .... but you can't do it while holding a sustained note without the effects dropping out for that time (and I believe that if you have a pedal reducing your guitar volume to, say, half volume, then while it is out of loop, you'll get full volume coming through to your amp for those 300ms) Most of us Plethora X5 users are ok with that, but it's something to be aware of so you aren't surprised.
Infinitely more versatile. These are two completely different animals. Stomp is an all in one, this is a modulation gunship. Stomp is designed to do everything, this is designed to be integrated into a board as a selection of 15 different TC pedals with some very clever integration. Drives, amp sims, a recording audio interface you’ll find in hxstomp, plethora is different, an excellent partner device to a helix as it does modulation very differently and can be controlled from helix or run with any amp and drives in 4CM. It’d be slightly more similar to an HXFX than say a stomp or helix floor.
This gives me hope that GLOBAL MIDI CLOCK will be added in a firmware update. The X5 and X3 are marvelous products, and having MIDI CLOCK for the delays would make them unstoppable.
This is probably a ridiculous question - but would it be possible to run the guitar straight into an amp (say a 50w tube head unit), then run the speaker out into the X3 (or X5 for that matter), and then run the two stereo outputs (L/R) from the effects unit into two separate cabs? Or would this just blow the effects unit up?? 😂
The tuner is very easy to see, but pressing the footswitch three times to turn it into a tuner is a daunting task. 3 out of 5 will fail. I want you to be able to press and hold switches 2 & 3 at the same time or change them via MIDI.
hi a) i see a possibility for a wet dry wet setup with this unit...is it? b) how can i integrate it with my pedalswitcher, e.g during clean i just need delay and chorus and during drive i dont need my delay which usually i control it with my switcher...or i can achieve it with the midi... thanks for the innovation....

Don’t get me wrong- I really like my Hypergravity Compressor, my Sub-N-Up and my Petrucci Custom Effects pedal. And I wouldn’t mind adding some of the other TC electronics effects pedals like the Hall of Fame and Vortex Flanger.
Gotta ask in comparison to a roland srv 2000, can the plethora XC provide similar sound and capability? IE can it do the welcome to the jungle intro settings?

As it’s basically a smaller version of the X5 I would say no, unless you are using an external MIDI controller.

It does have tap tempo as a secondary footswitch function for Flashback, Alter Ego and Tap Tremolo.
