I've yet to see talent without consistency with stand the Work ethic of someone with the fire, desire, belief and resilience . These qualities have to be applied to a great plan. Study the plan and practice. Break everything down to the smallest of components. Break the race down, know the equation to get the times you want. Measure your legs, test your foot strength, study all that's going on , break it down and build it up to where you need to be to run phenomenal times but also being healthy and steady in your training. It’s very possible for Erriyon Knighton to break Usain’s 200m world record. This especially becomes evident when you break down his weaknesses/ things that he can improve on that would take chunks off of his times.
      1) He doesn’t have a particularly good start. It isn’t Joe Fahnbulleh types of bad but it isn’t that good either. He also lacks acceleration during the first 25-30m of his races compared to the pros around him but that’s understandable he is still a junior athlete and only turned pro a year ago. Once he builds more power it should help in significantly improving his drive phase.
      2)He isn’t a consistently good bend runner (in comparison to the pros). The best bend I’ve seen him run is a toss up between the US trials semi finals that he ran 19.88 in (mind you he didn’t go all out in that race), or his 4th place run in Tokyo where he finished in 19.93.
      At US trials finals in which he ran his fastest race to date of 19.84, he ran the worst bend that he ran at the entire trials altogether and the worst bend of anyone in the field during that particular race. He even ran a better bend at the first round preliminaries in which he jogged to a 20.04.
      So getting him to consistently run good bends will also take chunks off of his times, especially during his fastest races.
      3) When he runs all out, his form often starts to break down in the last 50m of the race.
      This is especially evident during his 2020 run of 20.33 when he first came to prominence, and during his Tokyo run when he finished 4th. Working on his strength/speed endurance will help in that regard
      So when he manages to get those kinks ironed out, puts his theoretical best race together not to mention that he has lots of upside based off of only running track since 2019, he will get a lot closer to Usain’s world record than you like to think that he will.

    Tough to predict beyond a year or two, but two guys are re-writing this record list right now (Erriyon Knighton and Noah Lyles). But you never know if their motivation remains and if they will improve. Bolt and Blake never improved after their best times at ages 21 and 22. Maybe EK and NL have already peaked. Will be fun to watch the next few years.

      Bolt had injuries after 2010s so he could not improve when he was never 100% fit he could broke the 100m though still but 200m he would have to try in diamond league but bolt only run 100% in championships and still often eases up.

    Erriyon Knighton he just broke Usain Bolt's Record For U18 He Ran A 20.11. He will go Sub 20 this year . Erriyon Also Ran a 9.99 this year (May not have been wind legal but close) Jaylen Slade Another 17 year old Will Go Sub 20 and Sub 10 this year as well. Mark my words!!

    • @Hengel_Andrews
      @Hengel_Andrews 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That’s not true though about breaking any U-18 record because there’s no such thing as a U-18 record. Bolt ran 19.93 when he 17. Knighton, if he’s 16 now has an age group record, but if he’s 17 then 20.11 isn’t a record. It would be awesome if they keep setting records and be like Bolt since he’s the ONLY teen sensation to ever become an adult sensation.

    • @ItsCertified
      @ItsCertified 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's TRUE! Bolt was 17 going on 18 that year so they don't consider that an U18 if you're turning 18 the year of. Knighton turned 17 this year a and wont be 18 until next year. So yes he broke the record . This young man just started running tracc 2 or 3 years ago. He's Phenomenal. He will run sub 20 before the end of the year. Watch out for Jaylen Slade as well . He's capable of running a sub 20 this year as well. Another 17 year old but he will be 18 this year.

    • @PRTlists

      @@Hengel_Andrews There absolutely exists a U18 world record. It's called world youth record. Usain bolt held it previously at 20.13 as he did his faster times the same year he was going to turn 18. Knighton broke it with his 20.11
